I'm an atheist who parted away from Christianity. It was a hard process, as people were resented, and dissapointed at me for what I believed. This song, helped me a lot. It's beautiful and it speaks of breaking from hardship, specially around religion.

This is some of the best mix voice-falsetto bridging with feeling I've heard all year. (I think - perhaps - it's the softest I've yet heard Alejandro's voice.) That alone, aided by the tone of the guitars, the harmonies and the arrangement, makes this one of my favourite versions of this classic. Wonderful.
