The people who spent the time with these magnificent dogs should be applauded. The bond and love that grew out of that time, is amazing. These pups are astounding.
Yes. When a working dog's potential is realised, it's amazing to watch. It takes 2 to tango, teachers (humans) and students (,dogs, although sometime they are the teachers as well And we are the students)
This is amazing. You have to understand how ducks moves and how they are scared of obstacles to know how to position those dogs.. I applaud the owner and the dogs.
@@glennmagera3498 I feel really bad for the ducks. I bet they were petrified that whole time, scared to death that they were about to be attacked and eaten. 😢
@Carlos Rodriguez its a joke & reality of how people live with each other in this world you idiot like how everyone thinks they're better than someone in some way.
@eat me yeah and that is sickening. Can't get our ethics from legal things people do. There's alot of legal shit in this world but it doesn't make it ok. You have no point here sorry. Nice try though
Years ago when our son was little we had a Border Collie. It was funny when the kids in the neighborhood would all be playing in the yard and the dog would try and herd them into a corner. Border Collies are truly the smartest dogs.
I used to take my B.C to an elite private school on sports day, and let her loose. She'd go and immediately start rounding them up until furious parents and school staff would come and bang on my windshield and tell me to call her off, and fuuuck off. True. 😂
@Anti - Ethnic Cleansing OK I'll give you they may need a bit of direction so they know what the final target may be, but the actual act of herding and direction is instinct to them at this point in their evolution.
@@carlspackler91 It isn’t natural instinct for a huge majority of these dogs… They have to be trained to do it no matter what and draw it out of them. They do have the intelligence to do so, but they still need to be trained. That is the reason for the whistles the entire time! If they simply knew where to heard the ducks into, there wouldn’t be a need to be whistling at them the whole dampng time. Moreover, I think that this is a disturbing use of animals, because those ducks were absolutely terrified and thought that they were going to be pounced on and eaten at any moment. This is so wrong.
@Anti - Ethnic Cleansing I see. It's all very clear to me who I'm dealing with now. I'd love to stay and discuss the finer points of "animal mistreatment" but I have a 2 hour trip ahead of me to get my dog's ears cropped. I'm sure there's a PETA meeting you're late for anyway. 🤣
All of this is awesome - but I think the most intriguing thing is that only one dog moves at a time. And that the ducks move as one group rather than making a break for it.
Truth Seeker----Sheep dogs want to herd . That is in their DNA . However , it is also true that shepherds spend a lot of time training their Border Collies . ( I think that Blue Healers are similar , when it comes to herding cows . )
Really, just born to do it. Like how I didn't train my collie, but that didn't stop her from running off to the park to herd a flock of geese. She also likes to scare away coyotes.
in reality, "you" are a prime example of the youtube algorithm at work. you might have accidentally viewed a conservative news site. google cant allow that.
Their herding behavior is instinctive. I had 7 border collie-lab mix dogs (littermates). Had cows for neighbors.. I never worked those pups, and at about 10 months old I looked out the window to see that they had gotten out of their enclosure, had rounded up the neighbors & were heading them out.... While we talked one of the pups kept a close eye on the twins and didn't let them wander off the half acre we were on. It's an amazing instinctive behavior - and often a rancher will have an older dog help to teach a new younger dog. My dogs were demonstrating raw instinct. A working dog does follow commands, or is given a target & let them do their job.
Did you hear the whistling in the background? Each type of whistle is a command. Watch and listen when the dogs hear a certain whistle which means to, "lay down". You' ll get the picture. Dogs don't need to be trained by human language. It can by by other means...looks, gestures, and other sounds.
@@mariagricius8994 I read about a rancher who had to work one dog out of earshot, so he put a collar on him with a radio, so the dog could hear his commands (he could see the dog, just too far away for any verbal or non-verbal command). So he saw that a car was on the road where the dog was to guide a herd of sheep across the road to the pasture on the other side.. He told the dog to approach the car, then said (through the radio) something like "please sir, would you mind staying where you are for a few minutes while I wrangle the sheep across the road?" They are certainly well trained but it's an innate behavior. Good show.
God given talent!
MAD PROPS to their owner/trainer. Synchronized team work at its finest. Border Collies showcasing what they do best. Mahalo for the awesome vid🤙🏼
What in the hill Billy is this?

Border Collies are amazing, so incredibly intelligent.
Wow. It’s amazing and fascinating to see the the team work of the dogs. Congrats
Those ducks are now qualified to vote!

That's the thing, these dogs don't need any training to be able to do this.

How do the dogs know who is being whistled to? Maybe one day my Border Collie and I will be this good 😍
Same whistle that has trained them for so long
Could tell that whistle apart from many similar sounding whistles
Each dog has a different whistle I think.
Dogs:let's go💪
Ducks:what the hell are they doing😵
Even with the best of dogs, they still couldn't get them in a row.
