I find I am truly grateful at this point for those RV parks that still allow me to camp in my Mini Van. I prefer a Campground over dry camping and these places are getting harder to find. Thank you to this campground for still understanding that not all who Camp in a Mini Van will disrespect your property.
I agree. It was not a fancy "rv resort." You can sometimes negotiate with a mom & pop campground. National Forests are cheap and some state campgrounds.
What a nice lady! I love how her face lights up when she talks about the fun she’s had traveling! And I like how she shares what’s worked and what she’s learned. Happy travels! 😊
To the First Lady who didn’t have a cooler. If you have power they have smaller refrigerators that plug in the back of the Sienna van. I have one. It doesn’t take up much room.
What a great campsite spot! Sweet deal. Shannon has a nice set-up, I like her kettle. I'm looking for something collapsible because some evenings I miss my hot cup of tea and don't always want to set up the butane stove to boil water.
Lowes has some nice metal three shelf racks I've seen a lot of van lifers use. The prices aren't bad. I've watched a ton of videos and could easily fill a van and a car with all my goodies. I think we look at the same channel about those chill pads
I'm turning 70 this September and getting an itch to get on the road. I've never tried car camping, but this is very intriging for me. I like that you all have meet-ups and trips scheduled to caravan to locations. I haven't seen as much of this country as I'd like to admit. Thanks for these informational videos.

I really enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing. I’m interested in traveling, but would love to be with a group of ladies. How do I find some good traveling friends?
I went from a Honda CRV to a Ford Transit Connect wagon, which was a great move. It’s a low roof, but I have enough headroom when I sit to be comfortable. Honda CRV was just too small.
Hi, Shannon! Glad you joined the Butterfly club. I haven't found those butterfly plates yet. You may have too much stuff as you say, but you have great organization skills. I hope to see her on TH-cam more often. The Butterfly Tribe is great!

Another wonderful van tour. Shannon what a nice home away from home. I would do what you did and take way to much lol. Thanks Jan for this van tour, I love what you do. ❤
The Black Hills are about 3 hours away from me, and it's my favorite place to retreat to and recharge. Nice tour! I hope to be roaming about the roads soon!
Hi! I just subscribed! I have camped in my minivan in the past, but I just retired from my 9-5 last week so I'll be putting my van back together soon and hitting the road! I'm hoping to connect to other midlife or "mature" women on the road. Thanks for your content!
Jan, I am looking up the rates for this campground, so I can get an idea of what I will be paying when I get out on the road. In an instance like this, do you reserve “tent” camping, or what? And do you have to really pitch a tent? I notice you all do not have a tent that I can see.
No tent required. 2 vans per site. We got electric and water only since we didn't need sewer. We didn't hang out there. It was just a safe place with amenities to sleep while we explored during the day. This was a mom & pop place. I don't bother asking if it's an RV "resort." 😊
Hi Jan good looks like you are having a good time. Nice van for a no build. We are always rearranging things. Finally got our mini bus out of the shop so we are able to work on it again. We are going to start doing some short trips soon.
I just returned from a cross country adventure, and agree with Shannon. I too had too many things that I did not need to bring, like my two solar panels, I can charge my Bluetti while driving and keep my frig going on 12v also. I would only bring the solar panels now when I am at a camp location more than three days without electricity. Two different camping styles. But now I know. I have been camping for years, but this was my first cross country camping trip in my SUV. Also not all Cracker Barrels are safe, I stayed in a few and one I had to leave because some people showed up and were waiting around I think it was drug deal related.. It was dark and in an area that I decided was sketchy. It was located in Crossville, TN.
I have no real ties to anywhere. First i was born to a military dad and we traveled from base to base our entire childhood. I have a son who is grown he is a truck driver so only home on weekkends and i dont see him until he brings my van home. So all but my drivers seat is out i have a strong twin size frame and foam mattress. The bed is all the way up to dash board. I have plenty of space underneath to store stuff. And a dresser with fabric drawers for clothes and what nots. I have plenty of solor lights or battery ones.

I suppose there's a huge blanket or car over?? That has UV protection. Don't you guys think it's enough to cool down the inside of the car during the day? You know like a cool down paint but in the form of fabric or whatever 😄 sorry I'm just thinking about it
I wasn't scared. Any nervousness I experienced was overpowered by how excited I was about the freedom to go see this beautiful world. 🩵🦋🩵 At the end of this video, I talk about fear. th-cam.com/video/93N7Rwp6IYY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Y3AaoeNxVpo5imCK

I use one that's similar. 😊

I had those metal shelves for a while. They are very sturdy. 👍
Shannon's doing great! So happy for her. I made a note of that campground! Great tour Jan!
Thanks, Cheryl. 😊

We missed it! 😊

Perhaps ship the stuff back home so you have more spaces inside
She was on her way home that day. 😊
What kind of cot did you get size-wise and mattress
Here you go:

Would like to know from each who says “I brought too much”, like to hear of what and how much should they have brought. Thanks
It's different for everyone, especially full or part time. Most bring too many clothes and too much food. There are stores everywhere! 😄

Here's a cover that is light weight, let's air through and reflects heat.

@Butterfly Tracks, why did you get scared (b4 u started)? And what made you not scared?
I wasn't scared. Any nervousness I experienced was overpowered by how excited I was about the freedom to go see this beautiful world. 🩵🦋🩵
At the end of this video, I talk about fear.

I notice they offer a 10% discount for Good Sam, AARP, Senior, Military, Veterans, First Responders/ Did you get your discount?
They didn't give the discount on weekly since it was so cheap. 😊

What is the neck thing?
It’s a neck travel pillow like people use on planes.
One was a cooling towel, the other was a travel neck pillow.
Where are the links?
Traveled today. Links will be up tomorrow. 😊
I want to go to a meet up
😊
ilove this place where is the location , can you tell
Rapid City, South Dakota. 😊
What kind of van you have
2017 Toyota Sienna. 🙂
@ButterflyTracks good because I have a 2016 Senna and I didn't want my seat out forever. So thank you so much for your video it gave me some ideas
😊👍
I really enjoyed the video.
