The way I see it, Kep1er was just used as a cash cow to prepare for ZEROBASEONE. It's so strange how they managed to fail kep1er in every state, yet ZEROBASEONE somehow, in the span of a year has shown us all of their talents, their center had a solo song and all of these well thought out concepts, yet Kep1er got nothing. I can't wait for them to disband so at least they could potentially redebut and be better off.
I have to agree, especially recently, it's become so apparent how favored zb1 is by the company, and zb1 just seems so much better planned out. I love zb1 and I'm so happy to see them thrive, but it sucks that Kep1 got treated like an experiment so they could get a proper run.
I was shocked when the prize for debuting first in Boys Planet was a solo on the mini! Hanbin fans were pushing hard for him to get first place due to it being advertised as an advantage, in addition to him being center. It really shows the way these groups were going to be treated differently in hindsight. I notice that Kep1er and ZB1 barely even get to interact as well. Zhang Hao is a fan of Kep1er and frequently sings and dances to their songs, but the most you'll ever see is a rare TT with the C-line or maybe Gunwook and Dayeon since they're both from Jellyfish. It's a shame, tbh.
although i can see this perspective, wakeone isn't all that good to zb1 either (especially the chinese members). they might seem like they're more successful, but that's just mostly because boys' planet itself was more successful, and they managed to attract more fans from the get-go. our fandom's growth has stagnated A LOT since debut because wakeone doesn't know how to promote properly.
I feel like Kepler was " at the wrong place at the wrong time". Like why did Mnet chose to do a survival show during the pandemic. I just hope that the nine girl are able to find success after Kepler ❤
FRFR I don't see the logic with so many of their desicions. Even from a financial standpoint, wouldn't it have been better for mnet to delay it until things opened up more, and they could have actual audiences for the performances? Same, I really do hope we can see them all thrive, no matter what they do in the future^^
I feel like also doing a survival show while the rigging scandal was had barely died down also wasn't a good idea... I feel like Korean audiences didn't tune in (the rating in Korea were super low) because they couldn't trust MNET anymore. The survival show format was always doomed to get boring, but airing one right after a scandal that was so major expedited this decline.
@@usagitsukino8284 oh for sure! they barely waited a year😭 I think no matter what the first survival show after produce would’ve never been amazingly received by the korean public, but they were still literally in the middle of the scandal?!?! could they not have waited like, 6 months at least?!?!
@@miraclearin In my opinion, I would've waited like a year or so😭😭😭 Also I feel like them blatantly recycling the produce format so quickly after the scandal didn't help either..
During that period, nearly 90% of people worldwide increased their phone usage and online activity due to restricted mobility, turning to digital entertainment instead. I believe this influenced the producers' mindset when creating the survival show. However, I agree that the concept and execution of GP were poorly conceived, making it seem rushed.
"Kep1er was never given a chance to find their style." This has a very good reason. It's a group that would only promote a short amount of time and if you set that up you are expected to have a solid plan for it. A lot of Girls Planet viewers noticed that MNET did NOT have a plan for them and thus skipped the group. MNET survival winner groups are expected to have a sound ready on the go from day one and I think this is valid, given the fact that it's a short temporary project. There's no time and space to 'discover'.
oh no I agree, we’ve come to expect at least somewhat of a ‘plan’ when it comes to these temporary groups, and it was so clear to us all that mnet and w1 really were just fumbling in the dark when it came to actually managing the final group and giving them concepts etc🤷🏼♀️ I didn’t really touch upon it in the vid, but that’s kinda what I meant when I said that I think the fact that kep1 weren’t rigged, actively worked against them. With the rigged groups, they could plan ahead bc they already knew at least some members who would make it. Not trying to defend the rigging scandal in any way, but it’s just so clear there was no plan for kep1. It was shocking to me how one release was enough for fans to drop the group, especially since the most jarring one was a summer song deviating from their concept, something MANY groups have done before. Yes they’re temporary, the option to explore isn’t really there, but I thought we’d least give them more than 2 cbs worth of a chance youknow😭
@@soomi Kep1er has a concept. It was just very poorly planned and executed by W1. Kep1er's concept, as clarified in a video released with their performances of Tape and Tropical Light for their Strange Market fanmeeting, is that they're traveling between different planets and connecting with Kep1ians through the different music they've made. Kep1going/Straight Line is Planet 8, and their last Korean comeback is Planet 9. The execution of this is objectively terrible, considering that when looking at other groups with similar concepts like Billie or Loona, establishing the lore with direct and clear storylines, media, and reaffirming the lore every comeback is integral to associating it with the group. This was done with Kep1er too vaguely, through hints dropped on their website and subtle nods through the MVs they've released (planetary backgrounds, day/night mode switches, different members ending the MVs as a mysterious or ominous overlooking figure, racing/running/Kep1going being a constant motif they've used both visually and lyrically, etc). This should've been established pre-debut, or by the time the first comeback rolled around. But W1 dropped it...for a fanmeeting??? When you know this concept/lore, Kep1er's trajectory makes more sense. But we didn't get it until Galileo era, and it's too late for it to not just feel lazily executed and like it was a forethought on W1's end. It made me unreasonably angry when it was dropped like that, and being fr, I will take almost any excuse to rant/crap on W1 for it. 😤
I only recently started getting in Kep1er more recently, and I think the reality of how poorly they were treated by both the fans and the company finally started to set in.
they’ve been treated so badly ever since the show ended, just endless hatred and obstacles thrown their way from all angles and a company who seems to actively work against them at this point🫠🙃
Let’s be honest…had they debuted with straight line or mask, and the lineup was actually 3 (or 5) Korean, 3 (or 2) Chinese, and 3 (or 2) Japanese members, their whole success trajectory would have been higher. That was their first mistake
agreed, fans were so disappointed with the ratio of k/j/c, and their title tracks have fallen flat almost every comeback🤷🏼♀️ w1 really have made terrible desicions ever since debut for these girls
I don't think expecting 3/3/3 was necessarily realistic, but with all their talk of a global girlgroup 6/2/1 was definitely a little disappointing, especially with the previous rankings being more 'even' ;-;
@@miraclearin they really should have just called the show Girls planet. And debuted 12 members that way they could keep the 6 Korean members and added 2 more Chinese and a Japanese member…izone had 12 so it’s not crazy. That would have ate.
Honestly, more members might've solved some of their problems^^ I think people would've been more forgiving of the original 9 if they had 11 or 12 members final^^ Missed opportunity from mnet's side to capitalize on as many members' popularity as possible methinks!!
Something I've noticed regarding Dayeon's "favoritism" is that the only things she does get is screen time and lines (because shes an all-rounder) but she has had little to not solo promotions in variety shows, magazines, or photoshoots when compared to her members. Also, her screentime and lines have actually been lessening since debut, which I assume is because wakeone decided she wasn't "profitable" enough (thus they've started to push xiaoting and hiyyih since galileo era).
Dayeon is treated horribly by the fandom as well. W1 also completely mishandled her dating scandal and subsequent direct hate from fans afterwards. Did you know that during a fancall, a fan made her say a sl*t shaming comment in Chinese then laughed about it on Weibo? It was awful. Truly an awful situation for such a sweet, talented woman. 😢
Absolutely! I don’t think I got it across well enough in the vid but the way fans of the show and non-fans have been running with this ‘favouritism’ narrative is so crazy to me. As you said, she’s an all-rounder, it makes sense for her to get lines and be center or close to it during certain parts, but that was enough for these people to start hate trains towards her based on their preconceived beliefs^^
If we look at their latest japanese title track “straight line”, It has surpassed galileo. (former #1 streamed and listened songs on both spotify and apple music) This shows how now seeing keplians are trying to get kep1er having a iconic moment and spot in kpop before disbandment, Its already too late since they’re 3 months before disbandment shows the great negligance and abandonment from toxic solo stans and toxic gp999 stans that attacked kep1er for their favs not making it. This is really sad for the nine members who found this as their dream, they wasted 2,5 years filled with hate & abandonment from the korean public and even some of the international public
so so true!!! I’m so happy straight line is doing well (it’s a bop methinks😌) but it’s probably too little too late😭 If only petty ‘fans’ had set aside their grudges and w1 put in a little effort, we’d possible be seeing a much brighter future :/ these 9 precious girls never deserved all this being thrown their way🥹
@@llamaice Uhm no.. don’t target one fanbase, literally all the girls have solo stans and are just as toxic💀 (some) of the girls solo stans are the problem because they won’t support them as 9
i agree with everything you said the time i spent as a kep1er fan on twitter when they were debuting was truly the most toxic fan environment i had ever seen
i was never a kep1ian but I did keep up with their releases. and their change in concept wasn't a huge issue for me, but wakeone's choices in title tracks was very horrendous (save for up and giddy). and obviously, most of the title tracks wouldn't incline a listener to go further into their projects, which is sad because they have some excellent b-sides especially on lovestruck. which is where I really think their sound makes more sense
OMG YES! I will forever be confused about the songs they chose as title tracks honestly?? They're not horrid any of them, and they would 100% be fine on the albums imo, but if they had just chosen songs with broader appeal as the TTs, I think more people would've been inclined to check out the entire album and find the amazing b-sides they have!!!
YES , EXACTLY, i'm so sad people outside the fandom didn't realize how great is kep1er song due to their title track, ( the B-Side) like as a fan myself, all my favorite come from b-side and non of it a korean title track.😢
i feel like their tt lineup should've been: - mvsk - up - the girls (if it weren't released as a queendom puzzle song)/lion tamer - giddy/bttc - galileo the group honestly has an amazing discography, w1 just does a shitty job at picking which ones should be title tracks. the company makes all the right choices for their japanese comebacks but completely fuck it up with the korean ones
@@Adorslye i included back to the city, that's what bttc is. that song is one of my favorites by them and i can't get over how the company didn't make it the title track, almost everything about that song was perfect 😭
Kepi has so many factors working against them its actually crazy. (akgaes, bad comeback timing, k-net boycotts, zb1 favoritism, misogyny, death threats, s1ut shaming, pandemic survival show, lack of promotion, queendom 2, and so much more)
you’re so right it really feels like it’s been kep1 (and keplians) against the world for a while😭 So much sht has been thrown their way from all angles, they never deserved any of it^^^
@@tonystonem9614s|ut shaming, mainly towards dayeon from what i've seen. during gp999 and once she was confirmed to debut, so many people were saying she slept with the producers to become a producers favorite and they believed this is why she got more screentime and how she debuted. even now i see some "fans" say this about her :(
Zb1 obviously gets treated better than Kep1er, but I think a major factor in their success compared to Kep1er is that they debuted with very little competition much like Izone did (since their only competition at the time was really Itzy). While there are a few 5th gen boy groups, none of them came close to having the same promo ZB1 got through Boys Planet pre-debut. It really goes to show how timing can have long term effects on everything. They're really a "right time, right place" kind of group, imo.
oh yeah absolutely true! right after the show people were saying zb1 was about to jumpstart the 5th gen, whereas kep1 debuted SMACK BANG in the middle of the biggest ggs of 4th gen🫠 And with w1 putting in such little effort they just didn’t stand out in the same way🙃 for zb1 everything was working for them, for kep1 everything was working against them😭
their success wasn’t because there was little competition 💀 they were just more popular than the other groups… they literally sold as much as blackpink and twice
One of the distinguishing characteristics of kep1er comment sections I noticed was almost half of them are excited in the disbandment from the time they debuted. comments like "Can't wait for _____ to be free from this group." or "______ better go to _____ agency so they can redebut together." It lie lowed a little bit but I can see this sentiment almost everywhere. It's like they are waiting for their faves to redebut rather than supporting them now so their redebut would be much smoother. Solo stans are crazy.
omg yes! Literally saw it today🙃 I think it’s a little more ‘justified’ now as their disbandment is pretty much solidly confirmed, but it’s been going on since debut??! Solo fans have literally been counting down the days ever since the show ended🫠
It’s so silly, because do they really not understand that the girl’s succes in Kep1er directly contributes to the chances of them having a successful career after Kep1er disbands?
I think timing was also a big factor. I remember when they debuted they had a lot of buzz and seemed poised for success. Then… Hybe debuted Le sserafim and New Jeans. Those two groups have gone on to dominate the market, indirectly destroying other groups that debuted at the same time. After that it seemed like Kepler’s agency just gave up only went through the motions.
oh yeah for sure! the end of 2021 through 2022 was filled with highly anticipated gg debuts^^^ Kep1’s debut did really well (and doublast also did pretty well), but I think you have a point, W1 saw them losing momentum simply because the competition was so fierce, and they gave up trying🤷🏼♀️
They genuinely had everything a group needs to keep attention and gain support. Decent vocals, great dancing, good rapping, stage presence and charisma, really good title tracks (up, we fresh, giddy, galileo, wing wing, i do do you, straight line), even better bsides, stand-out visuals/members that are highly praised for their looks, and funny and charming members (some of which with unique or funny skills or talents), and some members have a sad or inspiring story that people can sympathize with. Kep1 are by no means unsuccessful (they’ve actually done very well for themselves) but they should be 10x more successful and popular and well-liked
their dance line alone should've had them being up there with the top 4 gen groups but wakeone does so bad at promoting. you mean to tell me they have a dancer like hikaru right there and didn't do shit? 😭
While I-land was airing, I watched every episode live, watched all the videos, and voted for my favs from day one. Still, none of my favs made the group. You know what I did? Moved tf on and didn’t engage with the group or fandom💀 It actually is that easy, can you believe
Absolutely understandable but Enhypen ended up being one of the best 4th gen groups and I was happy to find out other I-Land trainees made it into &Team but I was really upset about Daniel the most
off topic but its still crazy to me how out of 33 japanese and 33 Chinese. only 2 japanese debuted and ONLY 1 chinese like so many talents were wasted🤦♂️
The fact that Kep1ers debut sold more that any IZONE album and yet couldnt shake that "Worst mnet produce group" is so disappointing. They had the talent, visuals and skill but the general kpop community refused to acknowledge them.
@@llamaice As someone whose been on kepi twt the past 1.5 yrs I can tell you its not just akgaelights. People on stan twt think kep1er is a free pass to hate on them for a hit tweet. previously but not including, dives, tokkis, mys, zeroes, stays like the list goes on and they hate on all of kepi, hiyyih included. If you think its just solo stans you are greatly misinformed.
Imagine Bahiyyih not using her last name on gp999 and how people would have lost their mind that she was "hiding" something and blame any popularity on that or call out "special" treatment
I don't think there's any way she could win honestly ;-; Just the fact that Kai and txt are as successful as they are, fans will 100% attribute majority of her success to that, no matter what she does or doesn't do :/
She reminds me of 16 era Somi. She has a lot of potential but hasn’t fully grown into her talent yet. I honestly do think that she or at the very least Xiaoting deserved the number one spot over Chaehyun though because both of them had more support on gp999 and are more suitable as centers
@siennahartle9069 I love both her and Xiaoting. I think Chaehyun's vocals proved she deserved a top spot, but I do believe if not for the K votes counting as 2x she wouldn't have been #1. Xiaoting being 9 was truly a crime and I wouldn't be surprised if after the disabandment she RAN back to China.
For me it's the fact that she doesn't even like being called by her full name. I bet they wanted use her for the clout and did not expect her to actually go that far and when she got massive support they were editing her out as much as they could lol. And now that they have her in the group they still force her to use her full name bc they know it's attracting MOAs and other kpop fans
as someone that experienced the survival show live AND within the fandom space, i can tell you i knew it was going to be a pretty frustrating watch. but i didn't expect to get such a negative experience, especially because of the voting process/structure. and as someone that was rooting for mashiro, xiaoting and yujin, the final lineup was not a big problem, but the thing that got me away from the group (and online fandom space) was how intense the hate/harassment towards the girls was. like immediately after debut. it also didn't help thay w1 literally did nothing for them. so i low-key associated the group with very negative emotions and experiences. so for my own good i had to distance myself from the group, and i do regret it, because the girls are lovely and insanely talented. i hope nothing but the best for the members, and i hope their future remains bright.
Tbh there was just so much setup before Girls Planet even started, (or just as it started) that doomed the formative group (who we now know as Kep1er) to fail. - Signing to two parent companies in which neither had a vision for the creative direction for the group - The parent companies not budgeting well / using Kep1er as a cash cow for the next boy group to follow, who would be much more lucrative (bc boy groups usually are) - Having the underlying expectation and subconscious comparisons to IZONE by the public, in which if those standards weren't immediately met, people would be extremely disappointed - Making the ethnicity of the participants a key focus for the concept of the show, instead of their training from their respective companies (produce 101) or experience in the industry (produce 48) that would lead to the final lineup not feeling cohesive or 'respectable' as a result* - MNET planning how they wanted to edit the trainees before the show even started - the companies thinking they wouldn't have to put effort into Kep1er, that they would just grow without any effort simply because it was an MNET group, which meant the group no matter who was in it or how loved they were, would fall to a similar fate to Weki Meki That's not even taking into consideration all the other stuff that happened post-debut outside of the fandom's control, such as the group name, fandom name, and lightstick all being disappointing, or the QUEENDOM participation that was a sucker punch to the girls, or the lack of showcasing the unique skills of the different members during comebacks, etc. No matter how much fans supported Kep1er, or even if fans were united at debut, these factors were a force acting against the fans straight away. I honesty don't blame them. Even if every fan had stayed as long as they could manage without all the in-fighting, they would've left after a while anyway because of how their companies failed Kep1er. *A good example is Pinky from IOI. Some may better know her as 'Kyulkyung' from PRISTIN, or her Chinese name Zhou Jieqiong. Because Pinky's identity on Produce 101 was a capable trainee with a great dance aptitude, a contagious smile, and having that PLEDIS charm, due to the shows concept of only debuting the best trainees from different companies coming together, she was acknowledged for her talent, how well her skills meshed with other trainees, and how she would be a good addition to the final lineup. People knew she was Chinese, but because the emphasis was on her skills as an IDOL and not her ethnicity people were able to see her in a professional light and an important addition to IOI. Meanwhile when it comes to Xiaoting, who has a lot of the same wonderful qualities that Pinky did, the show having such an emphasis on the DIFFERENCES between the trainees (namely the ethnic differences) lead to a final group where Xiaoting would always be viewed as 'seperate' in a way. A lot of her fans were able to view her as a seperate entity to her identity as part of Kep1er, and as a result, put no effort into Kep1er and only into Xiaoting. The same can be said for Mashiro and Hikaru, as well as even the Korean trainees. There's this feeling that the members will always have a level of segregation because of how much that was pushed by the original show.
Well, Xiaoting is extremely popular and I don't know anyone who wouldn't appreciate her skills and her development over the past two years. She is certainly not a 'seperate'. For the rest above I agree.
@@TomsMusicCorner sorry, I probably didn't explain it well. There was, especially during Kep1er's first year, a subconscious level of 'segregation' of the group from the way the general audience views Kep1er because of the emphasis on their differences instead of what unites them. A lot of people look at Xiaoting and go "oh she's the talented Chinese member". They look at Mashiro and Hikaru and go "oh they're the Japanese members." Same with the 6 Korean members: there's this weirdly viewed level of comradery between the ethnic subsets of the group, because that's how the general public knows Kep1er debuted. These subsets, who were 'competition' as they understood it, coming together. And so when they look at Kep1er, they don't see a united team who made it together despite all odds. They see these divided parts of a team. And because in kpop, the thing that gets fans a lot of the time is the thought that 'these members are so so close', Kep1er lost a lot of people who look to kpop groups for that because of this general appearance of the group when they first debuted. Just because of the GP999 concept MNET chose. I don't know if this makes sense, if it doesn't let me know
I only watched GP999 because of Okazaki Momoko after she was an "Avenger" in BabyMetal that had gone into hiatus at the time. She got shafted by a lack of screen time and was eliminated in ep 5 with her cell. She still managed to win the Vitamin competition ranking #1 out of all 3 countries. I didn't keep up with Kep1er, but seeing this video, I'm so glad she didn't get trapped into this group that was seemingly mismanaged and not supported by their management company but also had toxic fans. Momoko ended up returning to Japan, rejoined BabyMetal that had returned from hiatus and Momoko later was finalized as the third member of BabyMetal which continues to do world tours while doing huge performances in Japan.
I feel like Kep1er was more of mnet testing the waters that the public was ready for another produce clone. They were trying to develop the program as they went so that they can (if the public was ready) have the new format for boys planet and presumably gp season 2. Its like what they did with pd101 seasons 1&2. I think they weren’t expecting the show to get popular. They didn’t have a consistent concept to for Kep1er. Personally i think they should have gone with Mask, but even if the space concept from WaDaDa was what they went with, they still could have kept it up so that Keplians knew what to expect. While I personally liked Up a lot, the change in concept was insane. And then when they put out we fresh I was honestly mad. They had a chance to use their initial concept and potentially make something of the group, but instead they tried on new concepts each comeback to the detriment of the girls. Not to mention the line distribution being so inconsistent (yes im a hiyyih bias but not a solo stan). It was low effort and it was hard to follow the group when some of the songs chosen to be their titles were legit unlistenable (not cause of the girls but seriously who the hell greenlit We Fresh). Still a casual fan but i think the girls would be better served disbanding.
I think it’s become super clear that Kep1er was one big test, from the start of the show all the way up until today🙃 Testing the waters on if the general public was ready for a survival show, establishing a new show and it’s just so unfortunate that the girls had to take the fall for them not really planning it too well and for them throwing them into a surviavl show SO SOON after the produce scandal^^
While I agree that toxic stans are a pain in the ass, in my opinion their impact on a group’s success is exaggerated. Deranged people exist in many fandoms (‘Protect’ twitter accounts of popular k-pop groups can provide some perspective), and yet they don’t cause as much damage. The main factor in any group’s success is always the company and its decisions. Can Kep1er’s music compete quality-wise with other popular groups of their generation? Do they have a solid and interesting concept? Do their MVs have any rewatch value? Does the company use the members’ strengths to the group’s advantage and maximize their potential? Is their promotion done smartly and efficiently? Maybe they have some outstanding variety content? All of these factors help not only grow the core fandom, but increase the number of casual listeners who aren’t really affected by the fandom drama, but contribute a lot to the group’s success. In Kep1er’s case the answer to all of these questions is - not really. The girls are lovely, but there’s nothing that makes them stand out among their peers. Toxic fans might have made Kep1er’s situation worse, but even if the fandom had been sunshine and rainbows it wouldn’t have made a huge difference thanks to Wakeone’s incompetence.
my thoughts exactly ! and i think you summed up what people have a hard time to grasp. it is precisely mnet's and wakeone's fault if the fans were disappointed with the lineup, the music, and ended up developing a form of resentment. of course, neither mnet nor wakeone are responsible for the way the fans chose to behave and express these feelings. but the initial problems that caused a lot of frustration are entirely of their making, and could have been avoided very easily. we could also draw a comparison with politics (everything is political anyway). when a government takes disastrous decisions that have an impact on global geopolitics, is it right to blame the people ? when two countries engage in war and send their people slaughter each other on the battlefield, while simultaneously broadcasting propaganda against each other in the media, it's only natural that the peoples end up transposing their feelings of fear, anger and unfairness onto each other. and then everyone forgets to blame the real culprits who always end up winning, unscathed, and only ever serve their own interests whatever the (human) cost. so yeah, sometimes the decisions a people take are questionable and need to be taken seriously. but they don't exist in an vacuum, they come from somewhere, and in all these discussions, we often forget to blame the real villains.
I think iz*ones disbandment was still very painfull and fresh... I for an instance wasn't about to attach myself to much to another temporary group. I really like the members and I love their bsides but I never became invested out of fear what is going to happen. About the voting.... I think we sometimes forget, that international fans can have a korean one pick aswell.
I think a lot of people hold back from properly 'stanning' a temporary group, simply because they will only be around for such a short time. Can't really fault anyone for that, I ask myself all the time why I keep doing it when I know I'll be heartbroken when they disband ;-; Also for the votes point, ABSOLUTELY. My one pick was korean, so it's not only k-fans who vote for the k-trainees. The point was made based on how a lot of the final top 9 did indeed get a lot of korean votes, and some of the other trainees in the finale got more votes total, but since they were from international fans, they didn't make it into the group even with more votes, since k-votes were worth so much more^^
i recently realized that after this time i shortly quit k-pop kepler got closer to disbandment and, honestly, what i see is pretty sad. not their music. i actually think it is good. so many of their b-sides are title-track-worthy. but how they are treated by both community and the company. it feels like gp999 was mnet's and public's fav toy but nobody knew what to do next or did not accept the fact some other girls didn't get in the final line-up. for now i feel like nobody won in this situation. neither girls left behind nor kepler themselves. i just hope some people 'in charge' would put their attention on the members and let them go and strive after the disbandment. cause they deserve it! i truly believe it.
I would say rather than chaehyun getting an angel edit it was more kim bora who recieved that edit. chaehyun did not really have much of a spotlight unless she was next to bora or only during the my sea performance
bora definitely was heavily angel edited, I chose to not include her bc of her treatment in queendom puzzle^^ chaehyun definitely wasn’t anywhere near that level of angel edit, but imo it’s still there, just very different from what they did with bora or dayeon🤷🏼♀️
@@miraclearin I think I must have missed it as honestly I had no clue about chaehyun until she sang that duet with bora in the parking lot concert and realised, hey she's actually quite good hahaha
Oh yeah definitely agree, I feel like she wasnt really showed a lot but just happened to be popular among the korean public which is why she was so popular but I dont think mnet tried to push her that much honestly compared to bora or other girls
I was one of those planet guardians than felt really shock and hurt for the final line up and the unfair voting method, the Chinese girls and Yurina just… broke my heart. And Xiaoting in 9th position… Anyway I was first supporting the group, but even when now I love them all and I believe they have a great bond between them, really great, the music was so… I couldn’t follow… And then I listened to Generation from AAA (tripleS) and fell for them so hard, the music is so good, and then Kotone, Nien and Xinyu arrived (from GP999). I was so happy… so I turned a WAV, even if I love the Kep1er girls, because of the music. It was so sad for me this point, since I always stan a group that I love the 95% of the music (SNSD, 2NE1, Red Velvet and BlackPink before them) and Kep1er didn’t gave me that. They are so talented 😭 I really wish these amazing Kep1er girls find a good future in the next step of their path, I will keep them in check 💕
Chaehyun got an angel edit? I am sorry, but Chaehyun was totally unnoticeable during the whole show. When she made 1st place i geniunly did not know who she was and why the hell she won first place.
lol she had and hiyyih did not get much screen time but they already had a fan base even before the show began, their fans supported the during the show so during the 1 pick their loyal fans stayed loyal
as I said the vid is based on my opinion, and from what I saw in gp999 i’d very much say chaehyun was angel edited (apart from the first eps) with how focused she was on teamwork and helping others^^ but definitely not to the same degree as a lot of other trainees^^^
i think she started getting a lot of attention after the my sea performance and her good leadership skill (and she was also very popular with the Korean voters)
Despite the false narrative that they're "flops", Kep1er is still pretty profitable, especially in Japan. The dedicated fandom keeps their sales consistently around 100k-200k albums, and their tours are always sold out in Japan. As well, Chaehyun is still a W1 trainee and they likely don't have many plans for her outside of Kep1er, so she most likely will leave since W1 would probably put their time into ZB1 and the I-Land group once Kep1er disbands. It'd best best to keep at least her in Kep1er rather than try to debut her again while the agency is focused on 2 more projects. (I have a conspiracy theory that they were probably trying to convince Dayeon and Xiaoting to sign with them and wanted an extension to prolong keeping them in W1). I can see why W1 still wants Kep1er, even if they've completely fumbled the bag with them. I'm glad it's not happening. 😅
I love Kep1er. Has their "lack of concept" been my favourite? No. But it feels like the fans are never satisfied no matter what they put out. Their newer albums especially have amaizng B-sides. I wish people would like Kep1er for their music, because it truly is amazing, and put drama aside
I really agree😭 it’s so clear w1 has failed massively, and their flopping between concepts have had me confused, but overall I love the girls and their music, so I wish more people would’ve given them a fair chance at least🥹 like just give their b-sides one listen, THEY’RE AMAZING😭
@@miraclearin The only flop album for me was doublast. Attention is the only b-side I really like, but I prefer upbeat and energetic songs to calm ballads typically. Up is a great song as well, but many of the bsides blend together to me. Troubleshooter I also don’t listen to much. Not as ballad-y, but I just never added the songs to my playlist besides the TT. The last two albums however are amazing! LVLY, Happy Ending, Back to the City, Love on Lock, and even straight line their new Japanese song is so good!
Such a blatant and unfortunate show of how sexism affects girl groups. I would have loved to see Kep1er be given the time thought and money that I'm so happy zb1 has been given. I hope if there's a gp999 2 we'll see more care be given to the girls even though I know it will be less than whatever boys come after them will get.
I think, and obviously this is just me theorising, that if/when they make a new gp season, it could see aprox the same reception as produce🤷🏼♀️ they tested the waters with gp, tweaked it with bp, very similar to what they did with pd101 & pd101s2🫠 if they do put on a new season I just hope they 1) treat the trainees right and 2) have a plan for the final group, it can’t be that hard😭😭
As a girls planet 999 watcher i was so let down that I didnt even watch their sibling show, boys planet 999 and i regret it bc now i personally consider zb1 so much better than kepler and thats sad since id assume they would both be the public’s favorite since they’re sibling groups but their company definitely has favorites 😭 it was a nice run for kepler
I feel like everything related to bp was so much better planned than gp. Just look at zb1’s treatment now. They’re getting a tour just 1 year into their run, and I’m so happy for them, but it’s so sad that kep1er really seemed to be nothing but an experiment from the start of the show up until now, and that breaks my heart for the girls🥹😭
@@miraclearin kepler had so much potential to become extremely popular especially with the rising popularity for girl groups during that the time. Mnet could've pulled the same combo and given us another izone since people definitely needed a new girl group to stan after them. Like it's soo annoying to see all these chances to become the public's favorite being passed on and ignored.
you don’t even go there. kep1er are for sure better than zb1 kep1er just continued to get the short end of the stick. exhibit a, the tour. what do kep1er get? nothing again.
The difference though is that CLC members always wanted a more mature sound and mature concept since debut according to CLC members. It was Cube Entertainment that decided to make CLC as a cute concept group from debut and would not allow them to change to a more mature concept and sound until the disbandment of 4minute. It was CLC members (along with help from Hyuna) that asked and push for a more mature sound and more mature concept change to CLC from Cube Entertainment that resulted CLC with songs like Hobgoblin and Black Dress, etc..
As a big Kep1ian and Hiyyih stan, the ot8 thing is so messed up. It's so annoying to see people still complaining about the lineup. Just get over it, omg 😭 the girls are about to disband, like wtf. And I love hiyyih because shes such a fun and talented person and she self trained herself, I admire ot9 and hope them a great future!
If only us fans actually focused on supporting the group, they would probably be one of the biggest groups rn. I wish people realized how much time they wasted on hating these girls. 😤
Hiyyih is my second bias, so I get you^ and it’s completely incomprehensible to me how so many fans have actively spent their time in the kep1 fandom attacking one of the members??? be so ffr what do they think that’s gonna do😭 even if people are unhappy with the line-up, is it really that hard to suck it up and focus on the other members, instead of hating one??? I 100% agree, if the fandom could just get it together I think kep1 could’ve been in a much better place than they are :/
@mylovecoerry2233 I’m deleting your comment, as stated in the description I will not accept outright hate towards any member in the comment section. It’s fine to have a problem with her fans, but you can present that case, without talking bad about the members.
@@llamaiceno. Ot8 fans started since the line up was announced, they literally created a petition to get her out of the group. The first solo stans were xt stans. There were so many ot8 stans that ppl decided to stop stanning the group and just supporting hiyyih. Get your information straight before saying things like this.
Their concept is so muddy though. When everyone was speculating on the concept just based on the name i remember a video imagining every member would represent a planet from the solar system, like with sailor moon. They all fitted so well and it would have been amazing
I think ? two of the members were confirmed for Limelight by the company - at least, I vaguely remember seeing their names/other hints in a video released after Limelight's latest comeback. As a non-fan, Kep1er was failed by both the company and the fandom/s in my eyes, way too many solo stans and the like for it to work with a temporary group (or even one who isn't tbh). The biggest issue though was definitely the editing during GP999. Cant 'wait' for I-LAND 2 to be like this too (I vaguely follow it like I did GP999, so I dont expect any of my faves to debut) Either way, I hope they will have a better time regardless where their future takes them.
Ahh I have not seen that but if they join, I really hope they see success with their new group🥹 I’m currently not watching i-land 2 but I’ve seen the stages!! for those trainees and the final group’s sake i PRAY mnet doesn’t screw them over like they did the kep1 girls🙃😭
@@miraclearin I hope so too. Depends on who you ask I guess, I think voting is starting soon so it will be 'fun', there's a lot of drama right now so I cant even begin to imagine what the line up will be.
i'm just sad that dayeon got all that hate through this 2 years all the people just saw the favoritism nobody saw how talented she is no matter how much she worked hard like i remember when she fall down from the stage at queendom 2 at rollin stage how much people used that to hate her and making context of how unprofessional she is and honestly as a dayeon stan i don't wanna be biased but since kep1er debut i didn't see that dayeon favoritism anymore but they just focused on her and didn't talk about how well treated the other members were i don't say she was treated bad but she didn't get what she deserves cuz lf this toxic fans the same as u said what happened for bahhy happen exactly the opposite for dayeon for real i wish all of them the best after the disbandment but i know how much i'll feel hurt and sad about that will not be kep1er anymore
I think fans who still hold onto those ideas from gp999 are pushing the 'dayeon favouritism' narrative so hard, without actual evidence to back it up. She's main dancer and one of the biggest 'aces' in the group, it would only make sense for w1 to give her lines etc, but people see one single post with dayeon and scream favouritism. It really sucks that they'll never even be open to seeing how talented and precious she is ;-;
When the final line up was revealed during GP999's finale, I KNEW they wouldn't do well. Obviously they've been able to sell well, 100k sales isn't anything to scoff at and they had a really good start despite WADADA being a lackluster debut (imo!). But GP999 was a disaster (worst survival show I've ever watched, and I've watched them all atp lol), they have a weak fandom with WAY too much infighting and their sales have declined heavily, which was inevitable once the initial hype died down & people realized they had zero to no stable concept. I've felt so sorry for them their entire career because they have a horrible fandom, their company treats them like shit, and they never get ANYTHING in comparison to their peers. Been with KEP1ER since before they even debut and I've stayed part of the fandom since then, but it's literally only because I love the girls so much. I do not like Kep1er for their music and I'm ok admitting that because what songs they get aren't their choice/fault to begin with. YES, I like some of their music, but had I not watched GP999 and got to know the girls from the show, I wouldn't have even bothered with the group. I hate to say it but WAKEONE doesn't promote the girls properly, they seem boring on the outside looking in and I can't blame newcomers for not even bothering with them atp considering how mid their titles are. I know Kep1ians like to say "but their bsides!" but people who don't know Kep1er to begin with won't give their entire discography a chance if they don't even like the title track. WAKEONE clearly had zero hope for Kep1er and dropped them before they were even given a proper chance. I'm SO sad about their disbandment coming up, but I also can't help but be happy because at the very least, maybe then the girls will be treated how they deserve by the right company. Right group, wrong company for real.
29:00 as you said people wanted Kelper to be the Izone, unfortunately when they didn't have the same/similar concept and had to compete with the debut's of Ive and Lesserafim, who had arguably the most popular members of Izone in them, it was a death sentance and non of the izone stan's were going to stick around, which left the solo stans and the anti's, with no buffer in the middle
I would like to point out in regards to kep1er not having a win since up! era: wakeone has always picked horrible dates to give kep1er's comebacks. ever since debut with wa da da, they have had promotions overlap with mega groups like IVE (its literally a meme in the fandom that ive and kep1 have their comebacks at the same time bc it has happened SO MUCH) and twice, new jeans, etc... that it has made it very VERY difficult to get them a single win time after time... we actually got them nominated for a win several times, only to come up short /: devastating. also: I know that for more than a couple of their promotions, at least one music show has always been canceled for reasons like national holidays in Korea. (it was just announced that one of them will be canceled for like the first week of their final album release... AGAIN.) its almost comical. wakeone does NOT care about kep1er, they don't even bother to schedule their comebacks around national holidays to ensure that the damn music shows won't be canceled. you just wouldn't see this type of disorganized, lazy management with ZB1, and thats a fact.
I feel like if the fan base wasn’t so focused on attacking each other and the members through solo stanning, they would’ve had all the energy they needed into putting effort towards supporting the group as a whole. I’ve seen more posts tearing this group down by their own fans more tff I’d an I’ve seen from anybody else. YUP! 24:50- 25:12
EXACTLY!!! If fans could just set aside their petty grudges they could’ve had time and energy to actually support the girls, and we wouldn’t be here having this conversation today I am so sure of it😭😭😭
Kep1er is the last girl group, probably the last kpop group, I ever chose to stan. Watching the show live, seeing fans crash and burn and repeat over and over in all the points you made... I still remember the horror I felt when I found out about that OT8 subreddit just to exclude one of the members (iykyk). I've been a Kpop fan for all my life and I was still shocked to see how much people hated her. I still hope that the group would stay together, but I don't believe they will. I love their music. I love the members. I am happy to be their fan. Their Japanese releases have been one of my favourites that I could always look forward to every single time from a Kpop group, and it's been a long while since I've felt that. Overall I just wish people had more faith in them as a group.
ohmygod the subreddit scarred me ;-; I looked into it a little more while doing research for this video and I wish I never went there, people are so foul... I didn't wanna believe it when I first found out it was a thing :/ I wish the best for them too, and if they stay together one way or another I so hope they'll see the success they deserve, but I unfortunately don't see it happening either ;-; I also wish people would give them a bit more grace.. see all the members' good qualities, support them despite the terrible management, and overlook the 'bad seeds' in the fandom, cause there are so many super nice and chill keplians.. the bad ones are just so loud :/
She was hated because she had not her place in kep1er, if it was not for her brother she would have been eliminated first round, for most of the gp she has ZERO appeal as idol, thats the problem and yet she forced her way (or at least moas/army akagaes forced her way )in kep1er. Nobody likes nepotism, if the nepo baby doesn't meet the standard and has zero appeal thats what you get, nothing surprising. If she was a visual people would like her but she is not, most people find her visual off putting thats a fact.
@@mylovechoerry2233 I've heard all the reasons people say to justify their dislike for her being in the group or not even like her at all. I'm not going to tell anyone how to feel, but there is absolutely no reason for anyone to send her death threats, make disgusting edits of her, to lie, defame- name it. It's happened to her and on extreme and loud level. She's a celebrity, yes, but that doesn't reason with the amount of hatred that's been thrown at her and been exposed to. Many others have seen it too. It's very clear. I understand what it's like for your favourite not to make it for various reasons, corruption or otherwise. My own faves didn't make it, and yet it will never be the reason why I will decide to sit down and be a horrible person to someone I don't know. She just so happened to be born as his younger sister. That is not a crime. She wanted to be an idol too. That is not a crime. People can dislike her. People should not be actively, still actively, going out and trying to hurt her. Those two statements can exist at the same time. edit: grammar
I only discovered Kep1er last fall and I'm not overly familiar with the kpop scene and especially not the show they came from, so it's very interesting to hear the background. I LOVE all their music!
i remember being like 14-ish when the lineup was announced (i had been following the show as a fan for a while) and it was so TOXIC. can we definitely agree that solo stans help to ruin the chances of success? also the way their company was trying to pursue this teen crush or girl crush concept even though when they debuted, those concepts were actively dying out thanks to groups like STAYC (no shade, i freaking love STAYC) i feel like they were set-up from the get-go by their company as well and by their fans too. the fans were toxic since the first episode of girls planet 999. 💀
I can’t say for anything else, and definitely the company being horrible is one of (if not the most) biggest contributing factors of why they’ve “failed”, but after checking out their TTs it’s really… not that good. Arguably I’d say the same for zb1’s as well, their competitors riize and tws has much better songs, but zb1 definitely had a better beginning since the survival show. Having a foreign centre really garnered a lot of attention, that was an amazing marketing pull of what a “global” group should be
I definitely understand what youre saying. Kep1er suffers greatly from poor direction in management and unsatisfactory fans. Regarding their title tracks, i think they suffer from lack of tone /poor mix pop. Wadada has a hard edm then bounces to cutesy - its jarring. Same with Up - horrendous opening, but the chorus is SOOOOO good. Honestly, i havent heard much about ZB1 either. I havent been keeping up either, but only 2 comebacks this whole time seems crazy low for a group like that.
i was looking for a vid like this thank you sm!! also as soneone who watched girls planet 999 since the very first episode to the last (this show is my safe space & comfort zone as it made me forget my probs) i noticed that during the show yujin, hikaru & youngeun were so hyped but when they debuted ppl kinda forgot abt them..
I really liked kep1er concept, the debut for me was so wow (I remeber wanted to learn the choreo so bad haha) and idk time passed and the company stop to give more attention to them, I feel so bad for them :(( and people don't liked them too and certains members didn't get more attention and lines... kep1er was a great group with a really bad management, a bad ending but I hope the members have better things in the future
I really worry for the new iland group, there's a lot of talented trainees on that show too. I don't think they will be as successful as enhypen unless their debut is a complete banger bc apparently the show isn't doing well ratings wise. I just wonder how wakeone plans to manage a group full time and not temporary.
I haven't watched iland yet I've just seen some of the stages^^But yeah same, I don't have any faith in wakeone as a company, but I do hope they get their sht together and treat them better than they did kep1. Nobody deserves what w1 put kep1 through :/
As someone who heavily biased J group, I am one of those people who knew they probably weren't going to be a fan of the final group as soon as the lineup was announced. There were a LOT of trainees I really liked on the show, but apart from Xiaoting and Chaehyun, none of them made the final lineup. So whether or not I would support the group was heavily dependent on their music, which never hit the mark for me. I really don't understand people who hold onto that initial disappointment so much that they make hate comments years later, especially in this case since Kep1er never made it super big anyway. Like why are you so bothered? It's pathetic. It's so easy to just focus on the artists you enjoy and ignore the ones you don't.
OMG YES! I don't understand the logic in actively hold onto that grudge for their entire time as a group??? If you don't like the music, if your faves didn't make it, just don't engage with the group? why would you spend your days hating on the girls?? literally sounds so miserable to me ;-;
@@miraclearin people really need to learn that the world does not need to know every thought that pops into their head. There are idols I dislike, there are idols I find unattractive or their skills are unappealing to me. Some are extremely successful and I see them on my feed often. But just because that thought or feeling of dislike comes into my mind, that doesn't mean I need to leave a comment about it! There are so many idols I do like. I'd much rather keep scrolling and focus my energy into supporting idols I like instead of making a sad, futile attempt to dampen the success of someone else.
some people really could benefit from implementing the mindset of ‘if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all’ especially when it comes to kpop🤷🏼♀️ spend your time hyping up your faves and leave all the others alone, it’s literally so simple🤷🏼♀️
1. kep1er were always the test subject they were on the route of working but w1 didn’t know how to actually handle the fame. and we can see that they don’t want to lose another major fame opportunity through zb1, but unfortunately zb1 is just not as popular. 2. kep1er were one of the ggs who fell victim to the ggs stans with attention spans of goldfish hopping from group to group so that’s also a factor on why it didn’t work out. 3. but also the ACTUAL major factor was promos. w1 barely tried to get kep1er out there. if they had gotten at least 2 more weeks of wa da da promo on music shows they would’ve increased in charts and if w1 had not made the move of sending them to queendom 2 despite them being massively popular people would probably hate them less. 4. queendom 2 was just the catalyst for their downfall as it brought unnecessary competition between the solo stans and literally just wasted everyone’s time. they weren’t that hungry for popularity cause they already had it. no one thought they would be successful as they were the 2nd run of mnet survival shows so no one had planned ahead incase they brought success
and if anyone gets mad about my zb1 comment i’m not saying they’re not successful at all but kep1er was for sure on a different level. like the girls didn’t have paid views or albums polluting the sea they had $10 and a dream and they made it work.
@@kepifys Zb1 is popular, but I feel like they can't attract new fans lately. I've seen Zeroses complaining about this too! It's interesting, considering that W1 is putting more effort into promoting the group. It might just be on the international side though, as ZB1 seems to be a hugely popular boy group in Korea, China, and Japan.
I think its also necessary to mention that Kep1ers music isnt really.....For the members?? Like with Iz*One it truly felt like those songs were MADE for their voices (even if la vie en rose was originally a clc song), But wadada??? that doesnt suit them yk
manifesting great success to all 9 girls after kep1er to at least attempt to make up for the shitshow that was wakeone fighting with the fandom for an entire group’s lifetime
if you havent already i would seriously consider listening to their albums because in almost every single album the bsides are better than the title track
i’ve always been more of a… silent observer of kep1 (i can’t see myself stanning temporary groups, but have always rooted for them nonetheless!!!!) and even i can say that their trajectory was set in stone before they even got a chance and it’s so disheartening. the members are the ones who get the brunt of all of this negativity/lack of care surrounding them and it really does make you just wonder what if the stars aligned in a different way :/ great video!
honestly idk why I keep watching survival shows and stanning all these temporary groups it always ends up hirting😭 I so would’ve loved to see what they could’ve become today if things were just a little different
absolutely! I really do hope they find so much success in their post group endeavours, no matter what they may be^^ They’re all so incredibly talented and deserve the world honestly🥹🩵
so many things went wrong. The lineup still harms them to this day. Akgaes of certain members we all know alienated lots of people who would have become keplians, and they will follow those members to their next endeavors. But there is no “alleged” to the evil editing to the c group. C group was villainized all throughout gp999. Truly, fuck mnet, fuck wakeone. It’s always been clear that companies prefer their male idols and kep1 and zb1 is a perfect example.
It's every single time like this with those survival shows. International fans just can't vote even if they seriously attempted to. People only vote for visuals instead of talent and they're super often extremely divided on who should win, so neither faves are going to safely win or win at all. I would be much better if we seriously sat down together and plan a serious voting strat and agree on a few good ones instead of everyone on their own voting for their subjective visuals.
oh yeah, I will die on the hill that general kpop fans can’t vote for talent they just vote for visuals, AND sometimes they might see a good dancer and spare them a vote. This goes for both kfans and international fans honestly🤷🏼♀️
ooohh🤔 well I’m both excited they extended, and sad that we’re not gonna see all 9 together anymore🥹 It does make sense though, as I don’t see any of the other member’s company having concrete plans for their members outside kep1er rn, aside from 143 and yeshiro obviously^ It’s both exciting that we get more time with the girls, especially now that they seem to have found their ‘sound’ with their last few combacks imo, but I haven’t seen anything confirmed about how long the new contract is, and them extending doesn’t change how wakeone have continuously treated them pretty badly😵💫 I guess I’m cautiously excited to see where they can go! I wish the best for all 9 and I hope w1 gets their shit together and promotes and treats kep1 better. It’s exciting that kep1 got to be the first mnet group to extend tho, I didn’t see it happening but I was proven wrong on that😅🩵
I know that this might be too much to ask, but groups with limited contract time should take advantage of “pre-releases” or “post-releases”. I say this as one of the groups who comes from a small company was able to do this! WooAh for example was able to gain traction with post releases, and groups like newjeans were able to do well with pre releases. WakeOne couldve been strategic in doing this especially in the Up! era. Kepler really had the amount of members who could be versatile and capitalizing this well couldve made kepler big and well know but it seems like wakeone had no view for this group
Interesting point! Could've definitely been interesting to see what temporary groups could do with that! ^^ But as you said, w1 doesn't seem interested in doing much for them in any way when it comes to promotions ;-;
@@miraclearin right?! I think limited contracted groups should think abt this strategy. Not only does it help their b-sides be big but it also helps them gain traction in the long run! It could even help the members solo career do well, not only that but iz*one also seemed to capitalize on making sub units in their b-side songs which stregthens versatility! Wakeone could've been really strategic abt this since GP999 actually did well after the Produce scandal but I guess they really made them the ragdolls of trying to dip back into the survival program fiasco
As a lifelong fan of music but someone who had no history with KPOP - I only "discovered" Kep1er with a fluke viewing of the "Galileo" video; a song I loved on first listen - I've only engaged with the group as a group. So they only stand or fall on the music for me without any drama of all the non-music stuff. It feels like a big loss that they may not continue beyond their contract.
I became a solo fan right after debut for Hiyyih. Keplians suck and were truly her biggest antis looking at every account following the OT8 subreddit and every Xiaoting account on twitter. Look forward to hiyyihs future in ISTNGG where new fans will finally surround her and not make her feel like a horrible fucking person for debuting.
I think it’s despicable how such a large part of the fandom has singled out one member who they collectively just agree to hate. I was horrified when I first came accross the subreddit.. I thought twitter was the worst of it, but I was so so so wrong😭
@@miraclearin take a walk over to weibo. People think solo and akgae hiyyihlights are the worst but xt fans are a different level, and they go after all 8 members over there and do not hold back.
Stop playing the victim when hiyyihlight have spend the entirety of contract attacking the girls especially dayeon and xiaoting, half of dayeon hate comment were and are still made by hiyyihlight. Hiyyihlight are the worst fandom I have ever encounter in my 10 years in kpop, and I have been a lot of fandom. Their are like lisa fandom but without money, truly the worst of the worst. Girl objectivly speaking she is the least popular kep1er member by far with the least amount of sales, stocks and fansite . If she debut in a new group, there is a high level of probability its gonna be the same. Yall hiyyihlight think the people who hate the most are kep1ian when it's in fact gg stan and gp that don't like her at all. At this point it's better for her to debut solo. Gg stan on twitter and reddit can fake pity her but they would NEVER want someone like her in the same group as their fave.
again, not you actively proving my video points in the comments. Please take a look at yourself and think about why you actively have to hate this one girl so much. You’re out here making up statistics and dragging her looks into it, when you could’ve had a productive discussion if you just stuck to actual facts and didn’t try to further hate against one member. I’m leaving this comment up, but I won’t hesitate to remove any furter comments and block you if you keep bringing in ‘looks’. I can live with your made up facts and stats, but keep hatred towards any member out of your comments.
i was never on twitter so i never saw much hate speech against any members just one youtube channel. Thankfully though because i wasnt put off from them and instead just loved them more. I am a hiyyih bias because before gp999 her fancams were all over my for you page so i ended up watching the show thanks to her and i was really glad cause i was introduced to a lot of trainees. I am an OT9 right now and all their songs are just to my taste which makes them one of my ults. Ive said this before but survival shows are not for the emotional people. I have watched all types of survival shows and their were always solo wars but ive never been in one because im not on twitter but i always hear about it from other keplians. Another thing about survival shows is that finding a concept to suit the girls because usually a company already has a concept in mind before choosing from their trainees but its the opposite for survival shows so now that two years have passed i think they are beggining to find their sound because their latest stuff is really good.
I agree^ With their last few cbs and with their japanese tracks I definitely think they’ve found somewhet of a ‘sweet spot’ where they truly shine! Someone is always gonna be disappointed after a survival show, it’s unavoidable, but I’ve never seen such a huge part of viewers completely turn on either certain members or a full group, it’s insane to me. I definitely still think a majority of Keplians are amazing, and they’ve worked so hard to support and promote the girls (definitely worked harder than W1💀), it’s just a shame the ‘few’ bad ones have been so loud😑🫤
I also really enjoy Kep1er's music. It's just not as on trend as other groups, so the group is a little overshadowed. About survival shows: I REALLY wish people could enjoy these shows without taking every setback their favorite encounters as a personal affront that needs to be avenged as vehemently as possible.
Definitely a more toxic and fractured fandom, compared to IZ*ONE. To paraphrase Henry Kissinger, to have a Kepler fan as an enemy is dangerous,, but as a friend is fatal. Maybe Mnet and other survival shows should just go back to rigging the groups the way they see fit. Just openly declare that's the way it's going to be, and let you vote in some sections to give you the fan a minor stake. Some scraps for the plebs.
Everything you said was so accurate! I tried to be a Kep1ian so badly but I was chased out by all the fighting about the members. I was fighting for my life trying to defend everyone. But at the end of the day I had to give up because I didn’t want to be sent death threats on Twitter anymore. It was like if someone tried to say they supported all the girls and wanted fair treatment for everyone, solo stans would claim that you’re not dedicated to their fav and you’re actually the problem. If you didn’t have undying love for their fav, you were an anti who wished them harm. I very much wish they had more success but I’m happy that maybe this severe hate and comparison will be over for the girls. Also Wakeone can eat rocks ❤️
wakeone #1 public enemy forever actually🙃🫠 It’s really sad that the very loud few fans who have such toxic ideas and behaviours have to ruin it for so many other fans. Especially more casual fans, I can 100% see their behavious scaring away baby keplians😭 twt is a whole other hell-hole I’m staying away from that place as much as possible akdklsjd😭 I really hope all this toxicity can end here so the girls can leave that behind when they move to future endeavours🥹
I just didn't like their transtion of concepts, honestly the celestial concept fit all of them in the show and as a group in general. They could've mixed matched the celestial, teen crush, and mature concept somehow like with WJSN. I just feel bad for them since they could've been something bigger, but got bad treatment.
Love the video. Love the analysis. Please have yr clips in focus when there isn't other information on the video. Or include more supplementary material (pictures or stock footage). All love❤
tbh i’m not really a kep1ian despite liking most of their title tracks and being a veteran cheshire, but i definitely would’ve been more interested if they’d stuck with the space concept. i always knew this was a pipe dream but i wouldve LOVED kind of a super yuppers-esque campy retro sci-fi concept pulling from things like the original star trek, i think that idea has a ton of potential and if there are any kpop producers or creative directors reading this comment please steal my idea
I second that^^ please some company use this concept this sounds so fun and would be so interesting😭 also IKNOWRIGHT?!?! how are people hating on UP?!?!
I think it simply comes down to the songs not being good. Wadada was a decent debut with an on-brand space concept + the MVSK bside was amazing. Since then, every comeback was so subpar... every comeback felt like the same song with a different a slightly different beat. There is zero originality, or change up, or attempt to be trendy. The Company and PDs are the main problem.
girl groups are always an experiment for these kinds of shows/companies :( i think how the show was set up was also terrible, i don't know why the producers thought it would work and its wildly different from how boys planet worked.
Personally speaking, I didn't favor Bahiyyih primarily because of my idea that she had no distinguishable skills... but this comes from someone who likes extraordinary talent and one could see that from my biases in the produce series (P101 - Yu Yeonjung [for vocals], P101S2 - Kim Jaehwan [for vocals], P48 - Yena [multitalented], PX101 - Woodz [multitalented], GP999 - Youngeun [multitalented], BP - ZhangHao [multitalented]) So for me, she didn't stand out as much as the other trainees. However, I acknowledged her general talent and potential so I just thought of her as a potential candidate but not bias... When I watched the series, she wasn't too memorable, thanks to the lack of screentime she got. However, I don't condone any hate towards any of the members and I'd rather accept the way that things are, as IMO it's a good lineup and each member is valuable.
This isn’t directed to you specifically, there were just some parts of your comment that remind me of how frustrating it is being a hiyyihlight because even now people downplay her talents when she’s arguably more talented that majority of the group 😭
Your comment sections filled w people with no critical thinking I'm sorry bestie 😭 as a non keplerhead this was a great video and you left no stone unturned. Though one question, was Up really not well received? I saw a lot of non keplerheads loving it
akshskrh thankyou😭🤣 it’s a wild time in the comments for sure I loved UP personally and I def saw a lot of fans also like it, and for some of my non-keplians friends it’s their fave song of theirs, but I think for the fandom it was so un-expected, and then they when went on to we fresh as their next release… I think it’s more the combination of those three cbs back to back rather than UP itself being badly received🙈🙈
I think the solo stans point is very valid and I blame the survival shows for it. I think the whole system fosters the idea of the survival of the fittest, where the show kind of encourages the viewers to pick their favorite and make them suceed, and since its mostly individual based and fans don't get to see the girls bond as much, it kind of becomes difficult for some of the fans to root for everyone. Especially since social media like twitter creates this echo chamber where they only watch and care for one member. I understand why it would be difficult for some people to go from "I don't care who gets in as long as my favorite debuts" to "omg I love everyone, theyre so great" when they finally do debut. Especially considering all of effort and emotional attachment that went into protecting and hyping up that single contestant from other hateful fans during the show.
I hope all the girls have bright futures ahead of them. They all seem so sweet and hardworking. I am not an active fan nor did I watch most of gp999 but I did enjoy some of their music and their appearance on queendom endeared me to their personalities (even though I fully agree that they never should have went on that show. They did well but it was obvious they couldn't compare to the discography, experience and established fandom power of the other groups on there). I think with their latest comebacks they have found a style and sound that works for them and while it is nothing groundbreaking I could see them be successful for quite some time if they were a permanent group. But I do agree with you that they don't do the numbers that would make their companies consider extending their lifespan. Kepler fans, antis and the girls solo stans really managed to turn a lot of people away from the group it seems and I am genuinely sad it might damage the girls future opportunities.
Absolutely, I wish we could see what they would do with this sound and concept they’ve seemed to find with their latest few releases (especially straight line that song is FANTASTIC)🥹 I love the girls and I really hope they’ll all be so successful in the future, no matter what they do! I really wish we could see them together for longer😭
Honnestly for me, it's a problem with the lineup. I think the girls are all very talented and deserving of their spot but since Mnet didn't chose them, they didn't know what to do. Like for Izone, they had an well thought out concept and they picked the members to fit this specific concept. For Kep1er, they had to do with fan choices and obviously, they didn't know how to manage them accordingly. Plus it was obvious they wanted other members for the final lineup so I think they just gave up
I think so many different factors can be attributed to the situation with Kep1 (fans of GP999 feeling cheated due to the K-focused lineup, pandemic restricting opportunities to establish themselves at debut, lack of a musical/conceptual identity, focus on Japanese promotions towards the end of the contact period which alienates international fans), but if I were to pinpoint the trigger factor for their failure, it would be their participation in Queendom 2. Genuinely one of the worst decisions WakeOne could have made, and I would argue that it changed the entire trajectory of the group.
I think an issue to note with the “concept change” of a summer song is that a group kind of needs to have built a general fan base (not just solo fans) for those to really stick - at least imo. I don’t care for summer songs so this could just be a me thing, but when a group I haven’t gotten attached to yet releases one I don’t really think much of it. So honestly debuting with a sound people didn’t care for, followed by summer song that’s reliant on the group already being well received… I really don’t think it did them any favors. Maybe if the summer song had been done with a few more comebacks under their belt? Idk 🤷♀️ Again, heavily reliant on how people feel about summer songs. I could just be in the minority on caring very little for them 😂
What an excellent video! I hope you didn't receive backlash. You did such a superb job of balancing between explaining the terrible behavior of the "fans" while still blaming the company - but placing the well-being of the idols and the group as the most important thing. I'm just a casual K-pop fan. I don't stan any group. I'm just here to listen to the music. Fwiw, I love "Wadada" and "Galileo." I didn't even know Kep1er was a multinational group. Is that maybe part of the reason why they are the targets of so much (totally unjustified imho) hate? Why do disgruntled "fans" target the group or individual idols - Instead of the company who is actually making the decisions? Eg because their debut wasn't "good enough" or not what some fans had expected. Do such "fans" actually think the girls invent the concept and write the music? Blaming the idols is like getting angry at actors for saying lines that the character they are playing has to say. In your opinion, what demographic(s) do these toxic fans belong to? (Boys, girls, men, women, what ages, mostly Korean, and in Kep1er's case also Chinese and Japanese, or international? Why do they get so upset about something like this? I wonder if their lives are so peaceful and problem free that they don't have more serious concerns like paying rent etc) Are bots involved? Hollywood studios and entertainment companies in the west are very keen on measuring social media engagement, which they value very highly. It doesn't seem to matter to them whether this engagement is mostly positive or mostly negative. It almost sounds like with every "scandal" that was ongoing like with Kep1er, or a single incident like Wonyoung iirc eating a strawberry she held in two hands, there are a lot of people involved in cyberbullying and spreading hate who couldn't even care less about the group or individual involved. They just take advantage of the opportunity to anonymously take part in a hate frenzy and receive lots of upvotes and likes from others who do the same - whether they are legitimate fans of the group or a solo stan or not. Hating on an individual idol, especially if she is not even an adult yet, is despicable. Any "fan" who tries to tear down another idol, so that their bias gets more attention or lines or whatever, has a lot more hate than love in their heart. Is it just me or are girl groups met with tons more hate than boy groups? You started to mention misogyny near the end of the video. Sorry for the long ramble, but your video provoked a lot of thoughts! It was a pleasure to watch! Subscribed! 🙏💜🌷🐝🌤️
i like your evidence but it ultimately ends up proving how extraneous factors unrelated to fans contributed to kep1er's level of success-also it's hard to generalize such a large population of people, as you basically said, which makes it hard to prove that the fans (x) caused y
24:48 honestly this is why I'm more of a causal Kep1er listsener not really a fan. The in fighting and toxic solo fans are just too much. I don't want to be parts of fandoms that are toxic like that. It's not what I like about kpop. I'm just here for the music and fun and will do anything to avoid any of the drama. It seems like fans brought too much drama and it turned me off from wanting to be a dedicated fan.
Because I cannot stomach survival shows I don’t know much about Kep1er besides the fact that I love Yujin (I’m a Cheshire) so I always check out their releases (haven’t liked them all but they aren’t bad in my opinion). What little I’ve caught on social media has definitely been the solo fans you talk about at length here. I didn’t really ever see anyone talking about liking Kep1er as a group and I found that a bit sad. I appreciate your video here because I was curious to know more about all this. Thanks for your effort!
I’m happy to hear you liked the video🩵 tysm for watching! I really think it’s so sad how a loud minority of the fandom, no matter who they ‘support’, have tainted the entire fandom. They have literally managed to scare people away from the group🫠
@@miraclearin Solo fans don’t seem to learn that a group being popular overall helps each member, individually. As you pointed out: the Iz*One popularity was a springboard for those members. I don’t know that Kep1er is going to do the same. It’s heart breaking for me to know that this is probably the end AGAIN for Yunjin which is probably why she cried. I don’t know all the members of Kep1er but they did all seem talented to me and I hope I’m wrong and they do get to continue on if that’s their dream.
absolutely😭 It’s a sad situation overall, but my heart breaks a little extra for yujin, like this is the second time a company has let her/her group down😭 give our girl a break🫠 I really hope kep1 isn’t the last we’re gonna see of her as an idol, I always LOVE seeing her on stage😭
lets be honest the music just isnt that good.. the title tracks are either extremely basic (Giddy, Galileo) or just really awful (Wadada, We Fresh) and also sending them on queendom was a dumb decision
nah, i think we fresh is pretty good. (i like wadada but i wouldn't say it's objectively good or appealing to most.) it's catchy and got a good production, the styling was good, the music video was fun, i honestly don't know anybody who doesn't like it. it's definitely a song that you have to give a chance and listen all the way through before making a decision, just hearing a clip in a social media video will give you a mediocre impression
It’s also sad that I don’t see the girls going to sucessful paths after kepler too. Like Mashiro and Yeseo joining limelight, even if you joined kpop yesterday you would know this is such a bad idea and (atleast in girl groups) it never went well. Mashiro and Yeseo’s popularity is not enough to boost them just like if Eunbi and Chaewon joined Rocket Punch they would be flops by now. I think Yujin, Hikaru and Xiaoting will be promising tho.
I really hope we’ll see them thrive, but as you said the examples in the past really don’t bode well :/ generally it just doesn’t go too well when we see members of temporary groups join already established groups😭 I so hope we’re wrong aksjkshd
@@miraclearin true and just wish some of them pull the chaewon card bcs I thought chaewon would be forgetten on rocket punch but look at girlie now. The member I’m less worried is Hikaru bcs her company is very good at promoting XG so I’m sure her new group will be bomb. But I’m highly worried of Yeseo and Mashiro.
Xiaoting hinted recently that she's likely not returning to Kpop after Kep1er disbands because it's harder to debut again when you're older. The Cpop and C Entertainment industry doesn't have the same ageist bias like Kpop does. She's probably going back to China to pursue a career there.
@@goldyd144 I hope she have a bright career there then like cheng xiao because she is very good. But if they debuted sakura…. xiaoting could debut too.
I agree with you. Kep1er is a great example of "the right group but the wrong company & time", at least in my opinion, but I also think that wk1 used them as a experiment of some sort if a group like that could work & when it worked they did the same thing again just for bg & after they made zb1 wk1 pretty much stopped giving a sh*t or pretend to give a sh*t about the girls, or it at least felt like that & this isn't any hate or anger towards zb1 since wk1 is still wk1 with them. Also there are some weirdos in the comments who obviously don't like hiyyih for some reason & blame everything on her fans which isn't right & is just senseless, of course there are some of her solo stans that are sh*t but that goes for every other solo Stan too & they are still not the reason that failed Kep1er, it's a combination of many things. While I'm sad that Kep1er will disband I am thankful that the girls will be free from wk1. I've always wished that Kep1er wouldn't disband & continue under a different company but I always knew that that would most likely not happen! As a true/real Kep1ian I love each & every single one of our girls & will continue to support them in the future, as a Cheshire I feel so happy that our Yujinie got to be our leader while CLC are currently doing their individual things after being dismissed but I'm also sad that Kep1er & Yujin was under a sh*t company that didn't/doesn't care about them/her after she already experienced this with CLC & now Kep1er disbands so she'll also lose this group but this time it most likely won't be like CLC. I'll miss Kep1er so much but I'm happy that they'll be free from wk1!
Oh yeah 100% agree! the korean public wasn’t ready for a survival show and I think no matter what they would be facing the brunt of the produce scandal aftermath🤷🏼♀️ And then you add w1 and mnet never having a plan for the group, it all just cooked up into this perfect storm where the 9 incredibly talented girls never got a chance😭 Especially now when we see bp and zb1, they’re getting everything the girls never did and it pains me. I love zb1 and I’m so happy to see them doing well, but why couldn’t w1 put the same effort into kep1 as they’re doing with them??
As someone that doesn’t follow kep1er this is wild because the only song I actually listen to by them is wa da da, icb their fans don’t like it 😂 I love exercising to it and think it’s such a good song. But this also might be because I was brought up with 2nd gen groups lmao
just putting it here as well: I will not accept any hate towards any of the members in the comments. I’d love to see discussion, I wanna hear your viewpoints! But any hateful comments towards any member, will be deleted and I will not hesitate to block you. My commentsection is not a safe space to hate on any member of kep1. Thankyuuu✌🏼
It's a shame, tbh.
literally the ioi to wannaone effect all over again 💀
@oopsydaizy Can't fault them. W1 is pretty trash.
although i can see this perspective, wakeone isn't all that good to zb1 either (especially the chinese members). they might seem like they're more successful, but that's just mostly because boys' planet itself was more successful, and they managed to attract more fans from the get-go. our fandom's growth has stagnated A LOT since debut because wakeone doesn't know how to promote properly.
@@miraclearin Omg you saw my comment. Thank you for responding. I appreciate it!!
Would love to see a video on this by you, Taejiu! Nice to see you come around to them.
It would had been unique to have 3 Koreans, CH, and JP members.
I don't think expecting 3/3/3 was necessarily realistic, but with all their talk of a global girlgroup 6/2/1 was definitely a little disappointing, especially with the previous rankings being more 'even' ;-;
@@miraclearin they really should have just called the show Girls planet.
@@goldyd144 Totally Agree!
@@miraclearin the exact thing!!!
She already got her payola. She not that girl.
I’m so happy straight line is doing well (it’s a bop methinks😌) but it’s probably too little too late😭
If only petty ‘fans’ had set aside their grudges and w1 put in a little effort, we’d possible be seeing a much brighter future :/ these 9 precious girls never deserved all this being thrown their way🥹

I already didn’t use twitter much at the time but kep1 twitter was absolutely not for me either skejskjd😭😭
i was never a kep1ian but I did keep up with their releases. and their change in concept wasn't a huge issue for me, but wakeone's choices in title tracks was very horrendous (save for up and giddy). and obviously, most of the title tracks wouldn't incline a listener to go further into their projects, which is sad because they have some excellent b-sides especially on lovestruck. which is where I really think their sound makes more sense
YES , EXACTLY, i'm so sad people outside the fandom didn't realize how great is kep1er song due to their title track, ( the B-Side) like as a fan myself, all my favorite come from b-side and non of it a korean title track.😢
i feel like their tt lineup should've been:
- mvsk
- up
- the girls (if it weren't released as a queendom puzzle song)/lion tamer
- giddy/bttc
- galileo

Zb1 obviously gets treated better than Kep1er, but I think a major factor in their success compared to Kep1er is that they debuted with very little competition much like Izone did (since their only competition at the time was really Itzy). While there are a few 5th gen boy groups, none of them came close to having the same promo ZB1 got through Boys Planet pre-debut. It really goes to show how timing can have long term effects on everything. They're really a "right time, right place" kind of group, imo.

nah wakeone aren't treating zb1 better lmfao esp c-line
One of the distinguishing characteristics of kep1er comment sections I noticed was almost half of them are excited in the disbandment from the time they debuted. comments like "Can't wait for _____ to be free from this group." or "______ better go to _____ agency so they can redebut together."
It lie lowed a little bit but I can see this sentiment almost everywhere. It's like they are waiting for their faves to redebut rather than supporting them now so their redebut would be much smoother. Solo stans are crazy.
omg yes! Literally saw it today🙃
I think it’s a little more ‘justified’ now as their disbandment is pretty much solidly confirmed, but it’s been going on since debut??!
After that it seemed like Kepler’s agency just gave up only went through the motions.
oh yeah for sure! the end of 2021 through 2022 was filled with highly anticipated gg debuts^^^ Kep1’s debut did really well (and doublast also did pretty well), but I think you have a point, W1 saw them losing momentum simply because the competition was so fierce, and they gave up trying🤷🏼♀️
it’s just so sad like as someone who watched kep1er from the beginning of girls planet to now ( straight line ) their downfall actually hurts
SAMEEEEE
same. they're one of my ults too and it's just disheartening 😭
@@moonjoonn they're my ult girl group and i hate way people treat kep1er
100% agree😭 they have it all and they deserve to be up there with the most successful groups actually🙃
their dance line alone should've had them being up there with the top 4 gen groups but wakeone does so bad at promoting. you mean to tell me they have a dancer like hikaru right there and didn't do shit? 😭
While I-land was airing, I watched every episode live, watched all the videos, and voted for my favs from day one. Still, none of my favs made the group. You know what I did? Moved tf on and didn’t engage with the group or fandom💀 It actually is that easy, can you believe
AMAZING ABSOLUTELY ICON BEHAVIOUR FROM YOU😌 love to see it
Absolutely understandable but Enhypen ended up being one of the best 4th gen groups and I was happy to find out other I-Land trainees made it into &Team but I was really upset about Daniel the most
off topic but its still crazy to me how out of 33 japanese and 33 Chinese. only 2 japanese debuted and ONLY 1 chinese like so many talents were wasted🤦♂️
it really is🫠 And the way they were treated by mnet while they were still on the show too.. j & c group collectively deserved a lot better imo😭
@@miraclearin literally😭
The fact that Kep1ers debut sold more that any IZONE album and yet couldnt shake that "Worst mnet produce group" is so disappointing. They had the talent, visuals and skill but the general kpop community refused to acknowledge them.
The odds really were stacked against them, everyone seemed ready to disregard the group even while the show was still airing :/
Not kpop community its just bahiyyih solo stan just keep attacking other fans
@@llamaice As someone whose been on kepi twt the past 1.5 yrs I can tell you its not just akgaelights. People on stan twt think kep1er is a free pass to hate on them for a hit tweet. previously but not including, dives, tokkis, mys, zeroes, stays like the list goes on and they hate on all of kepi, hiyyih included.
If you think its just solo stans you are greatly misinformed.
Tbf, Kep1er only sold more debut albums than IZONE due to album sales becoming a way bigger thing now compared to 2018.
How much they sold??
And now they actually officially extended their contracts minus Yeseo and Mashiro. Interesting to see what comes next!
Imagine Bahiyyih not using her last name on gp999 and how people would have lost their mind that she was "hiding" something and blame any popularity on that or call out "special" treatment
I don't think there's any way she could win honestly ;-; Just the fact that Kai and txt are as successful as they are, fans will 100% attribute majority of her success to that, no matter what she does or doesn't do :/
@miraclearin agreed. I will say she is an amazing performer. Look at her facial expressions at any point in a song and she looks like she is center
- Signing to two parent companies in which neither had a vision for the creative direction for the group
- The parent companies not budgeting well / using Kep1er as a cash cow for the next boy group to follow, who would be much more lucrative (bc boy groups usually are)
- Having the underlying expectation and subconscious comparisons to IZONE by the public, in which if those standards weren't immediately met, people would be extremely disappointed
- Making the ethnicity of the participants a key focus for the concept of the show, instead of their training from their respective companies (produce 101) or experience in the industry (produce 48) that would lead to the final lineup not feeling cohesive or 'respectable' as a result*
- MNET planning how they wanted to edit the trainees before the show even started
- the companies thinking they wouldn't have to put effort into Kep1er, that they would just grow without any effort simply because it was an MNET group, which meant the group no matter who was in it or how loved they were, would fall to a similar fate to Weki Meki
That's not even taking into consideration all the other stuff that happened post-debut outside of the fandom's control, such as the group name, fandom name, and lightstick all being disappointing, or the QUEENDOM participation that was a sucker punch to the girls, or the lack of showcasing the unique skills of the different members during comebacks, etc.
"Straight Line" is the best song Kep1er released... and the company waited towards the end to do that?
Straight Line is one of their best songs I can’t stop listening to it😌💅🏼
I feel like Kep1er was more of mnet testing the waters that the public was ready for another produce clone.
I think a lot of people hold back from properly 'stanning' a temporary group, simply because they will only be around for such a short time. Can't really fault anyone for that, I ask myself all the time why I keep doing it when I know I'll be heartbroken when they disband ;-;
Also for the votes point, ABSOLUTELY.
And Xiaoting in 9th position…
Anyway I was first supporting the group, but even when now I love them all and I believe they have a great bond between them, really great, the music was so… I couldn’t follow…
And then I listened to Generation from AAA (tripleS) and fell for them so hard, the music is so good, and then Kotone, Nien and Xinyu arrived (from GP999). They are so talented 😭
I really wish these amazing Kep1er girls find a good future in the next step of their path, I will keep them in check 💕
Chaehyun got an angel edit?
I am sorry, but Chaehyun was totally unnoticeable during the whole show. When she made 1st place i geniunly did not know who she was and why the hell she won first place.
Thank you made no sense
lol she had and hiyyih did not get much screen time but they already had a fan base even before the show began, their fans supported the during the show so during the 1 pick their loyal fans stayed loyal
as I said the vid is based on my opinion, and from what I saw in gp999 i’d very much say chaehyun was angel edited (apart from the first eps) with how focused she was on teamwork and helping others^^ but definitely not to the same degree as a lot of other trainees^^^
i think she started getting a lot of attention after the my sea performance and her good leadership skill (and she was also very popular with the Korean voters)
She get the attention due to my sea stage which convince the fan ( include myself) that she one of the potential to debut
The way Wakeone still want Kep1er even after they threw Kep1er to the wolfs is crazy
As a Kepl1an im heartbroken they are disbanding on my birthday 😭😭
that's actually heartbreaking i'm so sorry 😭😭
I think, and obviously this is just me theorising, that if/when they make a new gp season, it could see aprox the same reception as produce🤷🏼♀️ they tested the waters with gp, tweaked it with bp, very similar to what they did with pd101 & pd101s2🫠
if they do put on a new season I just hope they 1) treat the trainees right and 2) have a plan for the final group, it can’t be that hard😭😭
@@kepifysgo where? I simply stated my opinion not something thats correct, i respect your opinion and would appreciate if you did the same.
the way wakeone managed kep1er and the lack of clear vision for the group is so reminiscent of clc's hodge podge discography
Hiyyih is my second bias, so I get you^ and it’s completely incomprehensible to me how so many fans have actively spent their time in the kep1 fandom attacking one of the members??? be so ffr what do they think that’s gonna do😭
even if people are unhappy with the line-up, is it really that hard to suck it up and focus on the other members, instead of hating one???
I 100% agree, if the fandom could just get it together I think kep1 could’ve been in a much better place than they are :/
@mylovecoerry2233 I’m deleting your comment, as stated in the description I will not accept outright hate towards any member in the comment section. It’s fine to have a problem with her fans, but you can present that case, without talking bad about the members.
Its because bahiyyoh akgaes were being toxic in the first place
Cant 'wait' for I-LAND 2 to be like this too (I vaguely follow it like I did GP999, so I dont expect any of my faves to debut)
Either way, I hope they will have a better time regardless where their future takes them.
Ahh I have not seen that but if they join, I really hope they see success with their new group🥹
I’m currently not watching i-land 2 but I’ve seen the stages!! for those trainees and the final group’s sake i PRAY mnet doesn’t screw them over like they did the kep1 girls🙃😭
I think fans who still hold onto those ideas from gp999 are pushing the 'dayeon favouritism' narrative so hard, without actual evidence to back it up. She's main dancer and one of the biggest 'aces' in the group, it would only make sense for w1 to give her lines etc, but people see one single post with dayeon and scream favouritism. It really sucks that they'll never even be open to seeing how talented and precious she is ;-;
When the final line up was revealed during GP999's finale, I KNEW they wouldn't do well.
I would like to point out in regards to kep1er not having a win since up! era:
wakeone has always picked horrible dates to give kep1er's comebacks. ever since debut with wa da da, they have had promotions overlap with mega groups like IVE (its literally a meme in the fandom that ive and kep1 have their comebacks at the same time bc it has happened SO MUCH) and twice, new jeans, etc... that it has made it very VERY difficult to get them a single win time after time... we actually got them nominated for a win several times, only to come up short /: devastating.
also: I know that for more than a couple of their promotions, at least one music show has always been canceled for reasons like national holidays in Korea.
It wasn't the fans who failed them. It was and will always been WakeOne.
agree with all your points, great video. feels like zb1 is going in the same direction, re: solo stans, wakeone’s uninspired management
EXACTLY!!!
If fans could just set aside their petty grudges they could’ve had time and energy to actually support the girls, and we wouldn’t be here having this conversation today I am so sure of it😭😭😭
and same, to this day I feel like I see either hate towards thr group or hate towards the fandom pretty much everywhere🫠
Thank you for making this video.
ohmygod the subreddit scarred me ;-; I looked into it a little more while doing research for this video and I wish I never went there, people are so foul... I didn't wanna believe it when I first found out it was a thing :/
I wish the best for them too, and if they stay together one way or another I so hope they'll see the success they deserve, but I unfortunately don't see it happening either ;-;
I also wish people would give them a bit more grace.. see all the members' good qualities, support them despite the terrible management, and overlook the 'bad seeds' in the fandom, cause there are so many super nice and chill keplians.. the bad ones are just so loud :/
Fly High girls... The bops and some of the emotional cuts we got from them are gonna forever stay in our hearts 😌
Having a foreign centre really garnered a lot of attention, that was an amazing marketing pull of what a “global” group should be
I'll always support my girls. Us Kep1ians can survive anything at this point......I just hope they all join groups that they flourish in......
OMG YES! I don't understand the logic in actively hold onto that grudge for their entire time as a group??? If you don't like the music, if your faves didn't make it, just don't engage with the group? why would you spend your days hating on the girls?? literally sounds so miserable to me ;-;
@@miraclearin people really need to learn that the world does not need to know every thought that pops into their head.
AMEN🙏🏼
Kep1er would have had me if their music was consistently good
honestly that’s very fair🤷🏼♀️
if you havent already i would seriously consider listening to their albums because in almost every single album the bsides are better than the title track
i would reccommend their EP lovestruck which is definitely one of the best kpop albums of 4th gen by FAR
I also think that they got unlucky, because a lot of big girl groups debuted around the same time. Competition was very big for girl groups.
i’ve always been more of a… silent observer of kep1 (i can’t see myself stanning temporary groups, but have always rooted for them nonetheless!!!!) and even i can say that their trajectory was set in stone before they even got a chance and it’s so disheartening. the members are the ones who get the brunt of all of this negativity/lack of care surrounding them and it really does make you just wonder what if the stars aligned in a different way :/
great video!
honestly idk why I keep watching survival shows and stanning all these temporary groups it always ends up hirting😭 I so would’ve loved to see what they could’ve become today if things were just a little different
@@miraclearin i really hope that the members endeavors post disbandment do like unexplainably well, it’s the least they deserve
It’s always been clear that companies prefer their male idols and kep1 and zb1 is a perfect example.
couldn’t have summarised it better myself🙌🏼🙌🏼
Im so excited for their comeback
Do you have an opinion on Kep1er's contract being extended with 7 of the members now that it's been confirmed?
ooohh🤔 well I’m both excited they extended, and sad that we’re not gonna see all 9 together anymore🥹
It does make sense though, as I don’t see any of the other member’s company having concrete plans for their members outside kep1er rn, aside from 143 and yeshiro obviously^
It’s both exciting that we get more time with the girls, especially now that they seem to have found their ‘sound’ with their last few combacks imo, but I haven’t seen anything confirmed about how long the new contract is, and them extending doesn’t change how wakeone have continuously treated them pretty badly😵💫
I guess I’m cautiously excited to see where they can go!
Interesting point! Could've definitely been interesting to see what temporary groups could do with that! ^^ But as you said, w1 doesn't seem interested in doing much for them in any way when it comes to promotions ;-;
@@polar7335you hiyyihlights ruined kep1er btw
So glad you also mentioned how toxic some Hiyyihlights are when it comes to defending Bahiyyih. It’s like you said their approach to it was plain bad.
i was never on twitter so i never saw much hate speech against any members just one youtube channel.
@@Maria-uv9pd thanks for telling me about road to kingdom i had no idea the lineup was already out imma go check it out now. I cant wait for it
Definitely a more toxic and fractured fandom, compared to IZ*ONE.
25:13 have to give a shoutout to my girlies ily:1 in the background here 🫶🏻🫶🏻 nice to see other fans of theirs
YES WE LOVE THE ILY:1 GIRLIES HERE ON THIS CHANNEL😌🫶🏼🫶🏼
Also Wakeone can eat rocks ❤️
wakeone #1 public enemy forever actually🙃🫠
It’s really sad that the very loud few fans who have such toxic ideas and behaviours have to ruin it for so many other fans. Especially more casual fans, I can 100% see their behavious scaring away baby keplians😭
twt is a whole other hell-hole I’m staying away from that place as much as possible akdklsjd😭
I really hope all this toxicity can end here so the girls can leave that behind when they move to future endeavours🥹
Or include more supplementary material (pictures or stock footage).

tysm for the feedback, but I prefer them blurred with or without the images^^ just personal preference 🥰
PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE UP?!?!??
tbh i’m not really a kep1ian despite liking most of their title tracks and being a veteran cheshire, but i definitely would’ve been more interested if they’d stuck with the space concept. i always knew this was a pipe dream but i wouldve LOVED kind of a super yuppers-esque campy retro sci-fi concept pulling from things like the original star trek, i think that idea has a ton of potential and if there are any kpop producers or creative directors reading this comment please steal my idea
I second that^^ please some company use this concept this sounds so fun and would be so interesting😭
also IKNOWRIGHT?!?! how are people hating on UP?!?!
Personally speaking, I didn't favor Bahiyyih primarily because of my idea that she had no distinguishable skills... but this comes from someone who likes extraordinary talent and one could see that from my biases in the produce series (P101 - Yu Yeonjung [for vocals], P101S2 - Kim Jaehwan [for vocals], P48 - Yena [multitalented], PX101 - Woodz [multitalented], GP999 - Youngeun [multitalented], BP - ZhangHao [multitalented])
So for me, she didn't stand out as much as the other trainees.
I saw a lot of non keplerheads loving it
akshskrh thankyou😭🤣 it’s a wild time in the comments for sure
I loved UP personally and I def saw a lot of fans also like it, and for some of my non-keplians friends it’s their fave song of theirs, but I think for the fandom it was so un-expected, and then they when went on to we fresh as their next release… I think it’s more the combination of those three cbs back to back rather than UP itself being badly received🙈🙈
@miraclearin that makes sense ty for explaining ❤❤
Absolutely, I wish we could see what they would do with this sound and concept they’ve seemed to find with their latest few releases (especially straight line that song is FANTASTIC)🥹
I love the girls and I really hope they’ll all be so successful in the future, no matter what they do!
Idk 🤷♀️
Again, heavily reliant on how people feel about summer songs.
Fwiw, I love "Wadada" and "Galileo."
I didn't even know Kep1er was a multinational group.
I wonder if their lives are so peaceful and problem free that they don't have more serious concerns like paying rent etc)
Are bots involved?
I don’t know all the members of Kep1er but they did all seem talented to me and I hope I’m wrong and they do get to continue on if that’s their dream.
absolutely😭 It’s a sad situation overall, but my heart breaks a little extra for yujin, like this is the second time a company has let her/her group down😭 give our girl a break🫠
I really hope kep1 isn’t the last we’re gonna see of her as an idol, I always LOVE seeing her on stage😭
lets be honest the music just isnt that good.. the title tracks are either extremely basic (Giddy, Galileo) or just really awful (Wadada, We Fresh) and also sending them on queendom was a dumb decision
right
nah, i think we fresh is pretty good.
I really hope we’ll see them thrive, but as you said the examples in the past really don’t bode well :/ generally it just doesn’t go too well when we see members of temporary groups join already established groups😭
I so hope we’re wrong aksjkshd
@@ggstan2439 I would love to see Xiaoting redebut in a company with the resources to treat her right, no matter where she goes.
7 of them did not, in fact, escape the dungeon💀
Oh yeah 100% agree! the korean public wasn’t ready for a survival show and I think no matter what they would be facing the brunt of the produce scandal aftermath🤷🏼♀️ And then you add w1 and mnet never having a plan for the group, it all just cooked up into this perfect storm where the 9 incredibly talented girls never got a chance😭
Especially now when we see bp and zb1, they’re getting everything the girls never did and it pains me. I love zb1 and I’m so happy to see them doing well, but why couldn’t w1 put the same effort into kep1 as they’re doing with them??
@@miraclearin exactly!!
As someone that doesn’t follow kep1er this is wild because the only song I actually listen to by them is wa da da, icb their fans don’t like it 😂 I love exercising to it and think it’s such a good song. But this also might be because I was brought up with 2nd gen groups lmao
