Story time! There’s a noise ordinance that goes into effect at 11pm on weeknights in Rogers. Right before 11, the venue crew gave Dave a heads-up that they needed to wrap up. Dave being… Dave, he pretended to mishear them and said they’re gonna play louder now. They played for another 20 minutes before they were told again they’ve really gotta end it. That’s when Dave conceded they’ll play just one more song… at which point he decided to live-debut “The Teacher” - the longest song they’d ever recorded. 💀
I was there, he let an emphatic “What!?” When he was told at 11:03 and then broke into another song. This is the only band I’ve ever see defy the curfew in Rogers. Grohl is a boss 🤘🏼 🎸
Same, I figured this never gets played live. I also was convinced after Taylor passed that the FF were done. Maybe Dave would carry on as a solo act years down the road. I was wrong about EVERYTHING. And im glad.
I wasn’t expecting them to attempt this song live! Maybe for a tv special or something. They did well, shame he couldn’t belt the wake up / goodbye vocals, really powerful bit of the song, but understandable!
Omg… this was my first favorite song on the album. I cry every time I listen to it, but seeing him actually do this live is unbelievable. I’m in tears. It was like being on an intense roller coaster ride. Omg I can’t get over this. This song is incredible. I love Dave and Taylor… 😩😭💔
Dave said they would be a different group. Have seen live 3x this tour: Milwaukee, New Jersey, and Phoenix. Never sounded better. Josh is an amazing addition, so talented. They took tragedy , grew, and improved. I am glad Josh has such a different style. Taylor is irreplaceable. Without using this tragedy to change, they would have become nothing more than a tribute band. Half the songs are reimagined and the new album is breathtakingly beautiful and profound.
This was unreal! I feel Violet was there to not only sing, but to support her Dad. She's watching him lovingly and obviously cares due to this song. Only going to get better and better. She's got an amazing voice.
Further evidence that sorrow can produce some of the most beautiful, remarkable pieces of music. Never heard anything like this from FF before: it's scary, startling, and gorgeous.
Violet's voice is just hauntingly beautiful on a hauntingly beautiful song. This is perhaps the best song, to date, that Dave has ever written. Hard not to cry through this for some reason.
i thought that i was the only one who start to cry before the first chorus.... Very emotional for me this song!! Let us think about life and the velocity of the years passing through our face!
Powerful to be there. He didn’t sing the goodbye at the end but that would have made me cry even harder. I’m so glad he wrote this amazing song. I think it has helped a lot of people with grief.
I was so disappointed to not hear Everlong to end the show, just another few minutes, come on Rogers AR!! That said, they wasted time earlier in the show when they could have saved more time for the encores. I was absolutely blown away by Teacher, proud to be the first audience to hear it live, and it had so much emotion and power that it left me almost shaken and exhausted at the same time, and the crowd was unusually quiet as we walked out. An incredible song.
Simply amazing artistry by everybody involved and such a sweet sentiment to both mama Virginia and Taylor. First time I heard it on the album I cried. Watching them play this live is incredible
Foos sound great. Saw them at Sonic Temple last month. Gonna see them in August at Lake Tahoe for a proper show. Need to keep Violet around for this summer tour. Love Shifty and Nate but they were struggling on backing vocals on Rescued at Sonic.
Amazing to see this song performed. I had assumed it would be an album track only. Violet really needs to channel her dad's energy though and start rocking out on stage
My favourite track of the album. It's the 10 minute song I've heard more times in my life. Josh is an amazing drummer, but some times he overdoes flare.. you can tell how through the years Grohl has polished that crazy energy he has and serves more the melody and rhythm. If you don't believe me, look up Drain Bamage times when he was 15 year old he goes mental. No complaints about Josh, though, he's amazing, I can't wait to listen to the next album when he goes to the studio and records the next songs, that's going to be heavy AF! Long live FF 🤘😎
Great song! One of my fav's already. WHy is the FF keyboardist not officially part of the band? He's been around over a decade I'm sure. Their tour of NZ after our Chch earthquakes I recall him being on the church organ up in Auckland. It was EPIC
He’s usually introduced before the band intros, when they play the different version of My Hero with a keyboard solo or whatnot. Or from what I’ve seen.
I was about to say the same thing; Looks like she doesn't enjoy being there, I mean probably none of them are due to the circumstances we all know but they're all professional about it.
Don't like the new drummer it seems he rushes through every song even when there suppose to be played slower I guess he just want to get the song over with sound horrible love the old foo fighters the new faster song old song no thanks I will only listen to the old songs not ones with the new drummer Dave better drummer ,
Josh freese is a fucking machine holy shit that double bass fill at the end!! There’s nothing like that last note at a rock concert! It’s so magical!!!

Dave Grohl the troll 😂 but it was out of love for the fans
This is fantastic!!!
I love this even more now that I know that story 🤘
I was there, he let an emphatic “What!?” When he was told at 11:03 and then broke into another song. This is the only band I’ve ever see defy the curfew in Rogers. Grohl is a boss 🤘🏼 🎸
Sounds like Dave..in grohl we trust 🤘💀
They've hit the guitar switch mid song point of their career.
Incredible song and performance
Taylor and his love of Rush's eternally long songs with several key changes would be extremely, unironically, proud of that accolade :)
Had to change guitars different tuning and capoed up
If you ask me, this is the best musicianship I've seen from them
Indeed, very good song.
I was there for this live!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
I never thought they’d even attempt this one live, it’s huge
Same, I figured this never gets played live. I also was convinced after Taylor passed that the FF were done. Maybe Dave would carry on as a solo act years down the road. I was wrong about EVERYTHING. And im glad.
@@robriginio530 also, this song is for her mother so extra special.
Great live performance, this is without doubt one of the best songs they've ever written, just stunning
Holy fricking hell. I never thought they'd do that one live, and how Arkansas is still left standing afterwards!
I wasn’t expecting them to attempt this song live! Maybe for a tv special or something. They did well, shame he couldn’t belt the wake up / goodbye vocals, really powerful bit of the song, but understandable!
Acho que ele empolgou tanto tocando que esqueceu que tinha que cantar essa parte 😅😅😅
I guess Violet should have done it, but she didn't (neither did he).. But fantastic yet super sad moment
I’m guessing it would’ve just been way too emotional for them, the goodbye section is SUPER heavy
Omg… this was my first favorite song on the album. I cry every time I listen to it, but seeing him actually do this live is unbelievable. I’m in tears. It was like being on an intense roller coaster ride. Omg I can’t get over this. This song is incredible. I love Dave and Taylor… 😩😭💔
same
The five stages of grief and then some, wrapped up in one beautiful work.
So glad they are playing this one out on the road. Such a highlight to their career. Such an amazing song.
That ending proved why Josh is the perfect person to carry the torch. Fucking insane
Heck yeah! The double bass stuff is cool
Exactly
Well said

your are clearly a human-understander! Were you at the front row and took other peoples chance to see them at front row, you Karen?
Yes violet, Hold your Dad up right now
I think he brought Violet in this tour for comfort and support.
Further evidence that sorrow can produce some of the most beautiful, remarkable pieces of music. Never heard anything like this from FF before: it's scary, startling, and gorgeous.
I went to this show, so lucky to have seen the live debut in my area ♥️
Sounds just like the album. FLawless. Love it so much!
This is absolutely incredible.
Wow I just read that they dropped Everlong from the set. That’s quite amazing and unusual for Dave and co!
Heard security shut it down because they ran past the 11 pm curfew at the venue. True?
@@paulo9504yep. They were like 10 min past curfew when they started this one.
@@paulo9504 yep
Goosebumps when I hear this song 😢🙏🏼
That was stunning. Seeing Dave up there with his daughter plus the emotional weight of this song. How could you not shed a tear? Absolutely amazing
Josh is amazing at the end glad they played this live 🔥🔥
Great Job getting this video! It was incredible to be there and see them play this live!!! Such an emotional and healing night ♥️
This was an awesome concert! Arkansas loves the Foo Fighters!!❤❤❤
Violet's voice is just hauntingly beautiful on a hauntingly beautiful song. This is perhaps the best song, to date, that Dave has ever written.
Hard not to cry through this for some reason.
Cry in your toilet, Karen but don't take other peoples chance for a ticket, Karen
very hard not to
Wow awesome video mate 🙏 Impressive effort from the whole band first time out
This song is amazing live
Anywhere anytime any song, Dave rules Foos rule! Greatest miracle to rock 'n' roll
I wanna hear this song everyday, all the time. And Violet is perfect on it
this song brings me to tears
i thought that i was the only one who start to cry before the first chorus.... Very emotional for me this song!! Let us think about life and the velocity of the years passing through our face!
OMG!!! Thank you for eternity for this video!!! Incredible performance!!! Loving them more and more...❤♾❤
Thanks so much for playing this!!!! Absolutely awesome!!! We love you all!!
Pretty good post for the first time in 13 years 👍
Figured it was time I checked this TH-cam thing out 🤘🏻

@@seanesq30 I really hoped they perform this song live but thought it was too early for him maybe since the wounds are still fresh
Absolutely cannot wait to see this song performed live in the flesh 🙏
I absolutely love that Dave’s playing his Les Paul Custom again!
And the blue Explorer!
@@mlester72 Think it’s a firebird studio, I wrote that comment before it came out, damn he’s using all the OG guitars!
For me, one of the best Foo songs. The final part reminds me a lot of Tool.
1:1.618🤟🤟🤟💖💖💖
I’ve got it tattooed on my arm 🦦🦦

I haven't seen that Les Paul since 1996 D: 🎉🎉🎉😍😍😍
Especially from 10:00 it is unexpalianbly wonderful.
Excellent video, especially the sound. Thanks for sharing!
Such an emotionally charged song... I love it... So good live!!! Wow! I hope they play it next June in London!!
Simply amazing artistry by everybody involved and such a sweet sentiment to both mama Virginia and Taylor. First time I heard it on the album I cried. Watching them play this live is incredible
Saw it with my own eyes and ears and couldn’t believe they were doing this one.First on the tour.
That whole last two minutes of Dave just unleashing absolutely hell and anger over his moms passing while violet watches him is so incredible
Damn! Josh killed at the end! Got me all choked up.
fuckin ay, what a performance. love this song, was hoping they performed it at my may 24th concert in Gilford, nh. hats off
Foos sound great. Saw them at Sonic Temple last month. Gonna see them in August at Lake Tahoe for a proper show. Need to keep Violet around for this summer tour. Love Shifty and Nate but they were struggling on backing vocals on Rescued at Sonic.
That song will go down as a classic..
Nice that Dave got back to his old Les Paul Custom back from the early Foo days
Thank you so much for recording this & uploading 🤟🏼
Thank you for filming this ❤
This song is about his mom, the fact his daughter is there backing him and supporting him is so so cool
Now they GOTTA do "Come Back".
Wow this is so awesome, thanks for posting!
Amazing to see this song performed. I had assumed it would be an album track only. Violet really needs to channel her dad's energy though and start rocking out on stage
Give it time. 🤘
She’s young, it’ll come with time! I’d be shitting bricks up there in front of all those people lmao
They really need to do this song more ITS SO GOOD!!!
Love this song

Oh man that’s AWESOME
This rocks hard 🤘
Rami's Mellotron is haunting.
I want to hear a Foos song with Violet on lead vocals
Best song on the new album imo
Perth WA comin real soon - cannot wait!!!
Wow. Nailed it.

Rami? He has been since either before or after Wasting Light.
@@harryleephillips4555 yep Rami, he is awesome. Why is he not officially acknowledged?
will attempt to find the video
He’s usually introduced before the band intros, when they play the different version of My Hero with a keyboard solo or whatnot. Or from what I’ve seen.
He is an official member... since concrete and gold
I love this song. Reminds me of Play by Dave Grohl but not instrumental.
La amé
Awesome
Does Dave wear a wrist support to strengthen it. Brilliant song.
The Teacher 👨🏫 !!!
Goddamn Josh!
SMOKE!
6:02..... 💔
Devo showed up, I heard Soundgargen too
dave is plugging his daughter into the business
That was delicious
Showed me how to breathe, never showed me how to say goodbye....
So Foos now a seven piece band...ok by me
Lol his daughter is so subdued.
She’s a teenager, that’s how they all are lol
I was literally wondering today when or if they would play this live. And then I found this. Sucks that violet got so much hate for it
Do you even realise there’s more than one Foo Fighter?
My one critique of Violet is that she seems to still be self-conscience being on stage,..so she fiddles too much with her earplugs.
Yeah, she is obviously still getting used to it
Theyd be in ear monitors... which would take a long time to get used to
in-ear monitors can be very uncomfortable to wear
@@design1of470 it seems like in this case standing on stage makes her uncomfortable. She sould sit on a stool or stand further back by the drums
