How To Make Your Unique Selling Proposition Unique

  • Is your advertising or marketing agency in a competitive space?
    The reality is every agency is in direct competition with thousands of others.
    What's worse is there a lot of individuals calling themselves agencies who are copying your look and message and trying to get the same clients you are after.
    Your USP is what makes you different in a sea of sameness. It makes you memorable and why clients should choose you over the competition.

    I’ve been working on rebranding my web design business after watching a bunch of your content and some self reflection.
    I like your approach with Nailgun. For my business I’m taking inspiration from Patagonia, REI, and other outdoor inspiration. Seeing that I really want to work with businesses in that industry.
    Oh and on another video I had mentioned starting a podcast, now the name is going to be something along the line of “Expeditions in Business” and have the branding in line with my company.
    Thanks for pulling me and my business out of the commodity trade!

    Would really appreciate if you create some more videos on cold calling! It will be really helpful.

      Thanks for watching. I'm unlikely to train on cold calling as I've not done it for over 12 years. Also, I focus on other methods of getting clients for my businesses and I try to teach those on my channel.

    Thank you for this vital information fam, I needed this.
    I am launching a luxury lingerie brand this summer, but I am finding it a little difficult to really compare my brand with others, because I don’t see any other brands here to compare my with. They not doing what we’re doing, they’re not offering the services we are offering. My brand is so up to date and modern, vs the competition. Our items are home made, the craftsmanship is impeccable vs the competition who orders there’s overseas, we offer luxury for cheap, we do offer sizes from XXS to 2XL I know a few of my competitors doesn’t offer either sizes. Just wonder if those information could help me to formulate a compelling USP statement.

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It seems to me that you are comparing what you value instead of what your market values. Does your market want homemade? Do they want cheap? Do the want local instead of imported?
      I had an apparel client who thought their market cared about Made In America, but I had them test European and Chinese manufacturing for some of their lines and their market bought.
      They didn't care about where it was made, but that the quality was very high.
      You have to find out what matters to your market to create your USP.

    • @alannajm
      @alannajm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jojo, I'm interested in your brand. When will you be launching?

    • @jojomargaux9295
      @jojomargaux9295 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alannajm Thank you so much so much, I hope to launch this summer, but I might delay, until further notice, because the production process is taking a little longer than i’ve anticipated. I actually agree, because lingeries are tedious and very detailed structured garments. I rather manufacture limited qualities, instead of having 5K pieces that are poorly manufactured and sell crappy products to my supporter, customers and clients. It’s not about the quick bucks, it’s about providing quality products and services.
      When the website is up next week I will start posting on IG and TH-cam. Stay tune. 😇

    Awesome stuff Tim.
    Lets say you have a service with a USP, then 6-12 months later you develop a new service with a new USP, at that point would you retire the first USP? Take digital marketing services like PPC, an agency may have started with Google Ads (with a "The most effective lead generation" USP), then later expand to offer Facebook ads with a new USP... Curious about your perspective on this.

    • @TimConley
      @TimConley  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      An agency should not sell individual services. The USP might change when adding new capabilities, but if the end result is still "most effective lead gen" then the USP won't change.
