I have huge respect for jazz musicians, even though this genre is not exactly my cup of tea. However, I know I can learn so much from it and lessons like these really help me understand harmonies much better, so thanks for that! On the other hand, this morning I made pastrami sandwich (homemade pastrami as well) with some gouda cheese and couple of drops of hot pepper sauce on top of brown bread. And now I’m hungry again…. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment. I just think understanding the songs we are playing is so important. Homemade pastrami? Now this does sound good. Love gouda cheese.
Amazing short lesson, love how you broke down the sections and the explanation of how older versions harmonised the standard. My favourite sandwich has to be fresh tomato and mozzarella!
I arranged this tune into my first chord melody recently. The movement, especially those minor ii V I s in the b section, is very satisfying. I'll take a cheddar and onion on white bloomer please.
@@jazzguitarwithandy Fresh crab I'm sure is amazing. I'm in northeast Ohio, no ocean near me, just the great lakes. I'm going to keep it in mind though.
Well, I was all set to chime in with "the Real Book has Ab7b5 instead of D7", but you beat me to it so... Almost anything on good bread, but two favorites are BLT and its tritone substitute, egg salad. A Reuben is a beautiful thing, also. As is a fried egg and cheese... Darn it, now I'm hungry.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding today’s jazz standard lesson. Love this tune and it’s even better to listen to with a crab sandwich 🥪
Beautiful concise harmonic analysis and lovely rhythm guitar sound.
Thanks for the comment :)
This was really well explained. Really good man
You're very welcome
great lesson!!! Thanks!!!
Cheers Gary
Corned Beef on Rye w/ pickle! Thank you Andy for the theory & why these chords work so well together.
You're welcome and that sounds like a mighty fine sandwich.
Nice job! My favorite sandwich is peanut butter and strawberry preserves on LaBrea French bread.
Thanks Scott. I've never tried a peanut butter sandwich!

Nice one Andrew. It's a good one for chord melody style. I do love a cheese and red onion sandwich - on brown bread though!
Very nice and short (concise) lesson. Inspiring. Thanks. (mine is tuna and pesto among other)
Thanks Marc. Never thought of combining tuna and pesto!

A Reuben. Nice sound!
That actually might beat my crab sandwich.
Sourdough bread tuna melt sandwich 🥪. Well presented guitar lesson in your video. Nice looking and nice sounding guitar you have. 👍

Crab sandwich haha. I'll have to try that out.
They're great, provided there isn't too much brown meat!

I started to learn the Beginner solo that is on your PATREON 👍🏼
And my favorite sandwich 🥪 eggs, green oignons, paprika
Thanks Gilles. I do like a good egg sandwich with mayo.
Great video, lighting needs work!

Ham on farmhouse bread with a nice runny Brie!
Sounds good Mike 😎
Hot roast beef!
Had a crab sandwich this morning.
This I am very jealous of 😂
For breakfast a sausage egg muffin or ham salad on granary
Now that sounds good 👍
Muffuletta
Why wouldn't you start with the melody? A song is a melody, not a set of chords after all...
I'd love to, not so easy to do that on here
@@jazzguitarwithandy ah copyright?
