The laundromat have not been used since the middle of the last century. They are well-preserved because they are protected, mostly by the local government.
That's what I thought when it was mentioned that some people might use the lavoir. I live in Cantabria, and I've never seen a house in my life that doesn't have its own washing machine and complete bathrooms. In any case, welcome!

Just to share some positive info on how much of Europe is forested, from the "2020 State of European Forests Report": The report shows that there are positive developments in several areas and presents, among others, the following figures: "European forest area has increased by 9% over the last 30 years. At 227 million ha of forests, more than 40% of Europe’s land surface is forested. The volume of wood and the weight of carbon stored in European forests have grown by 50% over the last 30 years as forest area expanded and only a part of the increment has been harvested. About 3/4 of the net annual wood increment is felled. The volume of wood supply has grown, reaching 550 million m3, which is 40% more than in 1990. The area of forests designated for biodiversity conservation has increased by 65% in 20 years, and the area designated for landscape conservation by 8%. The number of genetic conservation units has increased about 10 times since 1990."

Spain many times, it's like stepping back in time once you get out of the cities - had to force myself to travel to other places for different experiences. Unfortunately, my neighbor who lives across the street is involved in this terrible sport, and once in a while a huge truck with German registration comes to him and takes the wild boars, roe deer, and other forest animals that he has shot from the refrigerator. sometimes a rich person comes up to him at night in an elegant car and for a lot of money he gives entertainment to these rich spoiled people without a soul and takes them hunting. that's why I hate the place I live in now and my and my husband need to change it...
