It's a manipulation. You set your system time to 0:00 on the 01/01 of any year and then have to tap "New Game" at a specific point in time. The hidden water sprites will then always be in the same position.

What is the solution for murder animals quickly ?
The thing I did was:
1. Build 5 birdsheds
2. Buy 20 chickens
3. put them all in one birdshed
4. wait until they starve then repeat
