    Better check your adaption to constant open burning/joss stick/joss paper smoke in Singapore, cigarette smokes in food court, hawkers. Singapore is still super weak in managing these issues

      Hi Shrey,
      Directi and Palantir are not financial firms but in ad-tech and data-analytics. For Directi, I will say they focus a lot on competitive programming and they ask good amount of questions on DP, Graph etc. There were 4 interviews - Codechef Coding Round, 2 Telephonic Coding Rounds, 1 Hiring Manager (Code + Concepts + Design). This was straight out of college. Palantir focusses a lot on design/debug and behavioural rounds. So the interview process is - 1 Online Coding, 1 Telephonic Coding, 1 Design round, 1 Debugging round, HM round. And each round will have some behavioural questions.

    Singapore land is scarce so whether it is HDB or condo, it is generally smaller compared to big countries.

    Also, are you sure the tax is only 5%? Because the last time I checked on Singaporean gov tax office, it was 11,5% income tax

      Yes you are correct.. Thax is not 5% but effectively if someone has 100k salary, they pay around 5 to 6k tax due to different slabs.

      There is no tax on capital gains in Singapore. You have to pay taxes only on the vesting rates and that is not separate from your income tax.

    What is the average salary for Fresher Software engineers at Singapore in companies like Google, Facebook, Indeed, Palantir, Shopee, Grab etc.?

      For freshers its usually around 5-7K SGD base monthly with some stock offerings/ joining bonus. Google/FB can give 80K USD stocks for 4 years. All these companies usually have annual performance bonus.

    I am software developer. Having 7 years of experience.
    Got an opportunity in Singapore on a contractual basis for 2 years.
    Offered per month salary is 8K SGD
    Is it a good salary for an expat?

      It depends if you are moving with your family or as a bachelor. From a bachelor perspective it is good

      I personally don't have experience with freelancing in Singapore. But upon checking it seems you need to get proper permissions to do so discussed here - transferwise.com/gb/blog/freelance-self-employed-singapore#:~:text=You'll%20need%20to%20be,for%20citizens%20and%20permanent%20residents.
