Yeah you can see that he's really feeling what he's playing musically instead of just regurgitating it out mechanically, there's phrasing and articulation, which really nails that neoclassical vibe he's going for. And he has that onstage confidence that you'd usually see in an adult. He knows that he's killing it.

Personally I think your ego got hurt when you saw the video, and you had to put him down to feel better about yourself. That's the only reason I can think of why ANYONE would EVER talk shit about the performance of a CHILD, no matter how good or bad it is. I can't wait to see this kid at the peak of his potential. This kid has true soul because it's obvious to me that he really loves his guitar and the sounds he can make with it. If you're putting all your time into being able to play like this it tells me that you really love doing it, just because it's fast doesn't mean that there's no soul there, he just loves the sound of his guitar and the sound that he produces with it, so gtfo you soul-less people trying to tell me he has no soul.
I just came across Anton's video at 11 years old and clicked on this one. It's so hard to understand how talent can be so great at this age. The beginning sounds like Paganini's 16th caprice, I tried learning the 1st 4 bars years ago and couldn't get it down or near the speed. I'm just amazed.

These are classical pieces written for violin... it's a solo, but none of it is mindless wanking. There are thousands of solo performance pieces in the classical world, and he just so happened to arrange several well recognized pieces for electric guitar. It's when art meets pure technique and flawless performance. It was very well executed in my opinion. I, for one, greatly enjoyed it.

Anton Oparin is by far one of the best up and coming musicians of our time. Will he forever become remembered as one of the best guitar players or will our dumbed down society just overlook it? I guess we will see
