      I would have kept the stock rims and tail lights. You can swap the reflector to a second tail light that looks like the reflector. But gorgeous work!

    I actually learned how to drive in a CJ2a that my buddy had in high school, sure have a bunch of great stories about that rig......beautiful restoration, only one problem, now I wouldn't want to use the jeep for it intended purpose, I would be afraid to scratch it........👍👍

    Incredible restoration. What a wonderful gift for your father-in-law. I had a 46 CJA I bought it from the original owner in 1964, when I was just 16 years old. Restored the best I could given my limited financial resources at that age. It was the love of my life. I'll never forget it, including the many mountains and desert trips I took on it in the southwest where I lived.

      Bruce, thanks for nice note. I love your story about the Jeep being your first car. I bet you can still hear and smell it. Yes, it was the best thing I could have done for my Father in Law. He was SO HAPPY and watched my video over and over. I’ve been married to his daughter for 30 years!

      Hello. Thanks for watching video. Regarding bumpers, I couldn’t find anything specifically for the CJ-2a but I found these bumpers that were meant for a CJ-5 and they had a similar width. With slight mods I was able to make them work.

    • @Paul355c
      @Paul355c  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matthewharfman7314 there are numerous places but I like www.karaoke-version.com/
      The prices are great and they have a pretty good selection. The main issue is when using some if these tracks for TH-cam background music, TH-cam sometimes disallows it if you don't have the rights to use the music, even if doesn't include lyrics. For some reason, The Verve must not have 'protected' their backing track but I often get denied when I try to upload a video and I have to change the music to something generic or in the public domain. Have fun.

    Who made the rear bumper tire rack?

    • @Paul355c
      @Paul355c  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. It was a product from a company called Fishbone. It was actually made for a CJ-5 I believe and I adapted it to work with the CJ-2a frame. It wasn’t that hard. It was tricky to find a rear number that was as narrow as the CJ-2a but this Fishbone product worked great.

    About how much did that cost

    • @Paul355c
      @Paul355c  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. The biggest cost was the outsourced rust repair, body work and paint. That was something like $12,000. Everything else was another $4,000 in parts if you don’t count any value of my personal labor. Thanks for the question.

    Pitiful video! You did NOT restore a legend but, instead, destroyed one and created a freak! Best of luck, but a video with music and no narration is further evidence that you have a rather awful format! We have a CJ-2A that is absolutely stock, with no upgrades and is a daily driver and has been in the family from 1946 when I was with my parents when they bought it. Best of luck, but have some respect for those who went before you!
