Barnett Crossbow Deer Hunt - Doe Down

  • I made a good shot on a Doe but had no blood besides what was on the bolt. High lung hit. I got down on my hands and knees trying to find blood but never did. I made 2 giant loops and finally found her. The roller coaster of emotions I felt in just a short while reminded me of the highs and lows of hunting Whitetail deer.

      Thanks for the comment!! I love the ease of transition from archery to rifle since the form is practically the same. It’s fun and the concentration on shot placement and elevation all have to be accounted for just the same as a compound bow! Go get you a big buck!! Thanks for watching!!

      @@NorthAlabamaAdventures i just picked up a barnett vengeabce crossbow from a neighbor. Got it for free, just a couple weeks of yard work and maintenance for them. Money was tight for them but they decided the crossbow would be good payment since it was useless to them, they got it when their brother in law passed away. I love crossbows, my brother got my dad a barnett c5 wildcat crossbow a few years ago for christmas and its a blast to shoot.

      Thanks MansterBear. Only thing I came up with was maybe the angle of the cut had something to do with it. Then again though the exit cut would have been angled downward toward the ground... it’s puzzles like this that keeps us hunters hungry for more answers.... and more meat!

    No offence. I hunt. But how the fk is this sport. Sitting up in a hide. The stalk and the hunt is whats good. Not just sitting there popping them off.

    • @NorthAlabamaAdventures
      @NorthAlabamaAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Roger.. no offense taken. Being that close to that many noses, eyes, and ears without getting “popped off” so to speak by one of them is part of the thrill and excitement of it for me. I also rifle hunt and have done many spot and stalks to where I am so far away I might as well be in a hide but still make a good shot with rifle and a clean harvest. Now a spot and stalk on an elk with a compound bow.. I self admit that the difficulty level goes up 1000%!! Thank you for your view and comment! Feel free to post a link to one of your hunts. I’m always trying to hone my techniques and spot and stalk is one of them.
