Great canopy, congrats. When filling your water tank always do it through an inline filter and drinking water hose, available at caravan & camping stores. This stops any contamination inside the tank as they are a pain to clean out. Don't put recovery gear in the slide out drawer cos if your rear is deeply bogged you cannot get it out, seen this many times. Put the gear in a bag and have it on the back floor tied to your seat mounts so it doesn't move, much easier to get to. Happy travels. I will be out travelling next year maybe I'll bump into you somewhere. 🙂

Sweet setup! Cheers for the walk through, love figuring out where everything is gonna go. Power setup looks nifty as. Keen to see how you fair with various appliances. I run a 2000w inverter and have found that many appliances which seem like low watt actually pull insane startup current and cause inverter cut-off or blow fuse. Think sandwich press, kettle, basically any electric to heat conversion. My advice there is to test appliances out in real use scenarios before starting the trip to make sure they work and you don't carry dead weight 😁
Only loss with your new setup will be the iconic silhouette of standing on the tub door to set up the roof tent!

Nice setup, for your table may I recommend getting a (or a few) small hand pump air bag(s)...(15 cm x 15 cm roughly, most hardware's have them) so you don't have to listen to the constant clunk, clunk as the table moves to and fro from bumps, acceleration and braking. I use them to hold some of my tools in place in my work van.
Absolutely. Beyond clanking, that table will eventually damage the gear around it if not secured.

Awesome setup! You folks down under are so lucky because you get to have a Hilux and other "real" Toyota products that we here in the USA do not get to access. In my opinion it's because the big three lobby the government to prevent those vehicles from being imported because they know that a cheaper, better built vehicle that last forever will put them out of business.

Envious Molly! Your setup is over the top in a good way and it really helps you to be more self-sufficient now you have the storage for food and your things. I think the mini oven will be a game changer for you.... a hot pie on a cold raining day will be heaven! Are you going to replace the back seats with more storage?

I had to go and watch a video on this unit to understand. Remarkable. Great step up for you. My only thought in Australia is the black color. Between the red dust and the sun and how warm it might get. But I’m sure the added features will improve your experiences immensely
I spent one "wet" in Darwin back in the day. Anything black got too hot to touch on the few clear days. You probably already know that from using the rooftop tent, but may have missed the worst of it by only touching your tent shell at dawn and dusk. Having seen the eye-cups melt off black binoculars on a sunny afternoon in Darwin I'm a bit sensitive to this issue. Gloves may be helpful. Great setup for convenience and access.

Well done Molly, your new canopy set up is fantastic and should make your life on the road so much easier and even more fun. Your videos are great and show everyone many beautiful locations around Australia. I have been to many of them and love looking at others that I have missed. I'm in my 70's now with 2 kaput knees which are making remote area travels difficult now. My Thai wife and I just completed a 20,000k Western half lap with our caravan and have now flown over to Thailand where we may stay for the next 6 months or so. Waiting on a long term visa to be completed. I used to do a lot of outback remote area flying trips in mostly 6 seater light aircraft in my younger years, before the cost of flying went through the roof when GST was introduced. I love watching your videos, along with several other regular youtubers.
