I just now installed a Drolet Escape 1500 I purchased from My Fireplace Products in Ontario. The insert is built in Quebec. FREE SHIPPING. TOTAL COST UNDER $2400 flue liner included. It is a great unit. Very easy install.
I recently had an inspection on my fireplace. Unfortunately, the flue’s lining tiles fell on each other. The cost for the repair would make it almost prohibited to repair it. I’ve been considering Gad or electric inserts. This would be so much better. What are the chances I can make this work given my circumstances? Thank you.
Typically the inserts use a new metal flex flue system that doesn't rely on the integrity of the existing flue. That said, if the actual chimney itself is damaged, you'll likely have to make repairs to the masonry brick/stone. At the very least the flue lining tile that fell would need to be removed.
How do I put one in from scratch in a stucco all electric home? No gas lines in our town. We dont have or want propane like our neighbors.. no offense guys😎
If I already have a functioning chimney, but want to add a wood burning insert just to help add some heat to a room, will I have to add any kind of venting systems - or will I be adding just the insert with no other expense?
Dude chopping wood looks like he’s out on the spit in Homer Alaska, one of the spit rats, across from the Salty Dog Saloon. Damn fine place to chop wood.

Darn. That is a shame. That would probably be just as expensive as fixing the fireplace itself
Can you do any cooking with a wood burning insert
I've seen small wood inserts with an area you could boil a pot.
What if you don’t have an existing fireplace??
Then your not limited to an insert. You can have a free standing stove or build a ZC into your wall.
Does your company have reps in KC, MO? I have wanted one of these for years. Thanks.
Do you already have your chimney and venting installed? How's the project coming along?
@@modernethanolfireplaces that was not the question

You need just the insert and a chimney liner
@@mikej7414 gotcha, thank you... I think chimney liners are pretty darn expensive nowadays...
