      Pretty much why Gen 5 failed.
      It focused too much on the multiplayer aspect to the point the customization is lackluster (everyone's build are the almost if not always same)
      And gameplay is slow.
      Gen 3 and Gen 4 Armored Core are the best due to the build customization and fast gameplay
      Gen 4 is the one on the video, the fastest combat in the franchise.

      @@YukitoOnlineAbout ACV, the lackluster build generally apply to single-player experience right? Because, due to the focus on MP experience. PVP was a fresh breath of air with variety of builds being able to compete in PVP; from tanks to sniper with piledrivers. This is compared to AC4/FA in which the meta is speed build.

    As far as i remember it, in Armored Core 1, you don't become a better human if you beat the game, you become one if you LOSE the game. If you reach game over, the game starts over except you are no longer a free lance pilot. Your body has been acquired by a corporation and modified with better reflexes and abilities but your mind isn't free anymore. It's the most dystopian way of doing an easy setting in a game.

      AC never had evasion based combat on telegraphed moves, nor limited melee weapons to the left hand like Sekiro prosthetics. Nor did it have perilous attacks like Sekiro does. The point Vaati made is that the game is going to have MODERN Fromsoft mechanics that Souls and Sekiro introduced, and rejecting this reality is going to set the fans for disappointment. I've long been telling people this, and Vaati simply happened to agree with me and gave me a voice. He's speaking the truth. As an OG fan, AND a fan of Fromsoft as a whole I truly think this is going to be the best thing going forward.

  • @DisappearBlade
    @DisappearBlade ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I appreciate your commitment. Your want this game to succeed and the only way for that to happen is if people expecting this to be a souls experience don't turn around and review bomb it cause it doesn't play the way they expected. We don't really have to manage our expectations because we will have a blast regardless, but some people don't know what they're getting into yet. The trailer only show like 35% of the game. 15% for story but the rest will be in the garage lol. We will see how that goes when the time comes.

    • @chstens
      @chstens ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You say that, but I'm sure some diehards will bemoan some changes, maybe even to the point of review bombing. Changes like the stagger meter, the new way targeting is handled, and the large bosses with more clearly telegraphed attacks. It won't be Armored Souls, but it will have changes based lessons learned from the Souls games.

    • @chstens
      @chstens ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh and not to mention that melee weapons are an exclusively left hand thing now.

    • @DisappearBlade
      @DisappearBlade ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chstens Yeah I hear ya. I just know that every new gen has it's detractors. But I'm not seeing as much of the hating that I have seen previously. I think most AC fan's are just looking at the positives. They see a little bit of their favorite gen in the trailer and they are hopeful. I know we want AC to stay AC but I think some people all over thinking some of the comments for Devs. Once it is clear that this is really and truly Armored Core, I think those people will come around.
      Also, they may have made those changes to blading because it will be more accessable than ever with the faster weapon switching. There are definitely balancing concerns for duel wielding if they are beafing up melee. Forcing it into one slot IS KINDA ANNOYING...but i won't pass judgement until i know more about the customizing. It might just be the price we pay for cooler more detailed blading.

    • @Krystalmyth
      @Krystalmyth ปีที่แล้ว

      Except the reality is that this is manifesting as a form of gatekeeping, and it's far more likely that OG fans will be right in the front of the line complaining about souls like qualities that are guaranteed to be in the game as we've already been addressing for awhile now. Those who think this isn't going to have Sekiro-like move telegraphing, hard lock-on and invincibility evasion are going to be in for a rude surprise.

    • @Krystalmyth
      @Krystalmyth ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chstens They made that decision to blading because Melee is going to be treated like Sekiro's arm prosthetics, which were also a left hand tool. This is ALREADY a Sekiro/Souls like addition to the franchise. Like I said, people need to simply accept that AC is about to change, and in my opinion, for the better.

    Human Plus is a feature from AC1, AC2, and AC3 that grants players and computer controlled players extra abilities and boosted stats which makes the game much easier than it already is. Except in AC3, it's basically the pity power up, like the invincible tanuki suit in Mario 3D Land and Mario 3D World.
    1) In AC1, you needed to fail a mission while racking up a huge enough debt to lose the game. You get pwn'd off to be experimented on and you come back ready to start the cycle again, stronger than before. You can do this 6 times to get all bonuses. And no, the game will not inform you what those bonuses are, but you'll notice right away. In order to use these abilities in the expansions, you must get them from AC1 and import the save data from there. Remember, in some missions, you die for real, which will boot you out of the game back to the title, and you will have gained nothing from it.
    2) In AC2, it's the exact same thing as AC1.
    3) Beat the game to get the optional part that grants you these abilities. Upon first acquiring the part it will do nothing. You must go into certain missions and complete a special challenge inside the mission. Silent Line is the only AC3 expansion you can import the part to.
    Nexus to Last Raven) Only the enemy gets to use it against you. However you can sling an slash wave with your blade now, which was previously only possible with Human Plus.
    AC4 and for Answer) All LYNXs are Human Plus! YAY! But seriously though, it's gone.
    AC5 and Verdict Day) No such thing as Human Plus. And that's among the other shit lost on the 5th gen as a whole for how lost and confused it all was.

There's a reason why there aren't many former Ravens among the ranks of the Lynx, and that's because piloting NEXTs take a toll that not every person can withstand. Being a fan of both (Mechwarrior and Armored Core), they are really at two opposite ends of the spectrum.
      Compared to Mechwarrior, the mechs in Armored Core are significantly faster and more agile (imagine an Atlas moving the speed and agility of a Locust). It is also much more vertical and boosters are essential in AC (whereas jump jets are more of a build specific thing). Also your armor/structure are just a single healthpool instead of per part like Mechwarrior. Instead of having base frames like Mechwarrior (like MAD-IIC-B), it's much more mix and match/custom being more parts oriented.
      As a result it is more about avoiding incoming fire than torso twisting it.

    Wouldn't call DxM's story thoughtless, just scatterbrained and nonsensical.
    I did like the upgradable Outer that directly enhanced mech function, but the Outer combat upgrades were absolutely useless and not fully fleshed out.
    Still, a fun AC lite title. But, AC6, the king looks to be returning to reclaim its crown from a slew of pretenders.

      Yeah, it's youtube so take everything with a bit of hyperbole for the sake of the joke. I was more turned off by the constant anime trope nonsense and poor voice acting. The combat isn't so bad, but lackluster story/setting/characters made it difficult for me to get invested in.

      Bruh, I deadass forgot they made HUGE ridiculous controllers for a lot of the early mech games. I remember seeing those in gaming magazines as a kid, imagining who would be crazy enough to drop so much money on a controller they can use for one game.
      As an adult, I can kind of see the allure. Maximum immersion.

      @@corvoadam5598 Armored Core For Answer, Armored Core 3/3 Silent Line and Armored Core 2 are all decent starting points. There's also the good ol' Armored Core 1 if you don't mind going super retro and playing the game from its roots. I will warn you, though, most of the older games have rather janky controls as the old PS1 didn't have analogue sticks and used bumpers for maneuverability. This didn't change until well into the PS2 era. So, if you want a good beginner friendly starting point I would suggest Gen 4 being AC4 and ACFA
