The thing that interest me the most about Zero as a character is despite her brash violent harsh lustful cold outward characterization in the story her internal personality is actually very thoughtful considered and deeply sad.
God, I love it that one of my favorite artists knows Taro Yoko and his lovely works, and all of the music that his games brought, and that they can remix them so perfectly. Thank you.
I have a love hate relationship with Drakengard 3...the over the top sex talk almost ruined it for me but the overall style, music and the atmosphere made me really enjoy it. You could really start to see how all the games connect together with this one...I really hope that the next NieR game brings Accord back into the mix. There's so many things they can do that'd make this series even more amazing...by the way love your version of this song!
the over the top sexualization for the first branch was more or less because branch A, up until its final act, was for the most part all intents and purposes parodying magical girl style anime I feel. Taro has a tendency to make fun of a genre or character he doesnt much care for or finds aspects ridiculous in some way. Prime example being his dislike of the incest relationship's popularity in media leading to him and his team having made Caim's sister as bland and unlikable as possible, as well as having her kill herself once her feelings were discovered and she was rejected. You could also take his having made the twins who first brought about the Legion and Red Eye syndrome and cult being incest as also being a less direct display of his (granted understandable) dislike of that genre being popular. Granted, in 3's case his ridicule of the genre's faults manifested more in the form of jokes than intentionally making the character dislikable or making them have a horrid fate, though that could just be either his want to never make any game exactly the same narrative wise or a result of him not outright hating magical genre tropes and just finding them, again, ridiculous.
Yeah, the companion dialogue was really painful at times, but the better story/character beats in the game are some of my favorite in any game. It is really frustrating.
I really like "This silence is Mine" because the first time I heard it i didn't like the voice but after going through the music It became one of my favorite because of the voice. Nice work for this one, it's good even though there is not this godly voice. It show you did great ! I really hope you will do Kuroi Uta , it's a beautiful one too.
This is my favorite song out of the entire DrakeNier series. Thanks so much for doing this one. Love how even in chiptune is keeps the eerie and melancholic feel. Fantastic work!
How come you always make stuff from Drakengard + Nier that I like but somehow a bit obscure? Like Galgaliel's theme and now this. And they're all amazing!
Oof, this song will never fail to pierce the heart. I do like it better with vocals, but still, any version's a good version. Thanks for adding your piece to this final song.
Responding on the description: personally I would play Drakengard 3- Drakengard - Nier - Nier Automata in that order so it makes a little more sense and not many spoilers there to be had. Anyways so good to find Niergard content. Under served community :P
For all it's problems, 3 is easily the most accessible drakengard game. If you get really into it and want to go back to 1, just know you're in for a hell of a ride gameplay-wise...
Drakengard 3 is the best worst game I've ever played. As well rounded as a square, yet with that same level of emotional depth that Taro-san specializes in. The weirdness is all based in reason as well, though, which is both fun and further frustrating whenever you realize that all those absurd lines make sense in their world. Every major character in that game is based, to varying degrees, off of Zero/Usubeni/Rose, who was a traumatized ex sex worker forced into the trade, who now copes with the same few things that she knew her entire life, those being murder and sex, and almost all of the characters in the game share those coping mechanisms, whether because they were raised in that environment or were spawned directly from someone who did and learned it. It's uncomfortable, visceral, and sometimes even ruins the moment, yet it makes sense lore wise why all of the major characters are like this: they were all spawned from a mind who unhealthily copes with sex and violence due to her past. It's no different from how the mc of some generic rpg game blessed by some god of purity is normally going to stand for their tenants and beliefs, or how a monster of one master is going to be similar in nature and intent to their master. Wild.
If you wanna know what software I used, there's an FAQ in the description. As for the how I just get the original song up, listen to all the parts, pick the chip sound I think suits each part best (I used lots of triangle waves for the strings because they sound softer, I edited a basic sine wave to do the soft pads, and the "vocal" is a basic nes style square wave) and I just kinda wing it. I'd like to stream sometime if I have the chance to show my process.
Fucks me up even in 8bit.
what i like about these is that they're not your usual two-minute ditties. your covers are thorough.
Emily, you’ve done it again. Now my room is flooded with tears.
I love this song so much. This perfectly tells Zero's struggle and end goal.
Great cover as always!!
Thank youuu

That moment when you listened this song so many times that lyrics automatically play in your head. Great cover

All I want in this world is to see my daughter again...yoko taro pls bring her home

all I would love is a way where all characters could interact with each other, Nier and Drakengard
Well, Accord cameos in Automata so anything's possible!
Yeah, the companion dialogue was really painful at times, but the better story/character beats in the game are some of my favorite in any game. It is really frustrating.
straight up heard the first notes and already felt myself break down crying. this is so good

Absolutely stunning. You somehow manage to change the entire mood of the song while keeping the same amount of emotional depth. I love it.
Once again I'm impressed. You manage to convey the sorrowful, mourning emotion in a chiptune cover. Thank you for another great cover! :D
Darn it, why do I tear up EVERY time?!
Tears....? Inconceivable! I've heard this song play every time I sleep! Why do I... have this.. now.
played this in my headphone in my office, now my co-workers are wondering why i'm breaking down
god bless you
WHERE ARE MY STAIRS!?
Wonderful cover, you really manage to capture the feeling of the song!
Also, the doves in the art there ;_; Goodbye my good boys.
I never thought I would find another reason to love this song... glad you just proved that I was wrong.
Awesome work, as always.

And they're all amazing!

This is my favorite thing in the entire world.
I love this song! The best of drakengard 3!
Yall are making me so happy with all this drakengard love. I'm so proud of you :')
Found this song a while ago and I love it; feels like you're reaching for something.
Really good job on all these covers.
you've done such an amazing job to one of my favorite songs of all time. It has that same solemn sorrow and hope as the original. It's too beautiful!!

What an awesome cover. Great job! Looking forward to more.
I am a huge fan of the whole Yoko Taroverse, and I am really enjoying these. Fantastic!
It has a nice ring to it, I like it! Do you plan to make "Kuroi Uta" as well?
Perhaps!
Neat! I've been thinking of getting into drakengard recently, and I've been listening to the OST already. I'm loving this, great work!

Do you really have to take this picture? .... I just finished my crying session over they where doves.....
that feel when you finally have a harem but they all turn into birds :/
@@RetroTV5000 At least they're free from their duties now. I don't feel bad for Dito though, he deserved for betraying Zero and the others.
Evelyn L. Cent betrayed everyone too in another timeline. Also Dito is a hardcore sadist so that’ll either make you like or hate him even more.
Oh yay! \^0^/
Yeah, that's how I know D3. I was listening to Touhou and YT recommended Nier Automata, Nier and D3 soundtracks to me. :D
I found Nier because a vocaloid artist I like did a remix and it was all downhill from there
Oh I see ^U^
YES ITS SO GOOD THANK YOU
love it good job its one of my favorites from the ost :)
Excellent cover! Very well done ^^
Thank you.
Why Yoko. Why must you only make me cry.....
Nice!
Me encanta, te quedo espectacular
I've ordered it a while ago but my PS3 harddrive is full so I'm finishing other games so I can install it :D
I just finished Drakengard 3 yesterday. Next up, Draken1, and then the RepliCant remake.
This sounds even nice and sad in 8bit. Great cover!
It somehow sounds even sadder than the original
This silence is mine
And this triagonal sign
That blue balloon, the month of June
They're mine, mine, mine, mine, mine
Linus Gale this took me on a rollercoaster of emotions
Another great cover :)
Instant sub
seeing you do so many good drakkengard songs makes me wonder if theirs a chance of getting the final song?
read the description
wanted to play dod 3
no ps3
turn on ps4 and play nier automata again

Hope we meet someday...somewhere.
How in the world do you make this.

Emily Music This sounds really freaking good for just winging it. Great job.
*Sad...*
esto no respeta la obra original... no vale la pena
