Back when you were on Amazing Spider-Nan, your technique for eyes was the first thing I noticed and then taught myself.

I believe that the shine is reflected light that isn't going to illuminate the eye but would reflect. Like say light from a tv or glint from the sun reflecting off whatever.

No problem, man! For some reference on this, check out Mike Mignola's work, he likes to use lots of blacked out eye sockets with just the light glinting in them. It tends to give a very spooky, dramatic look.

Awesomeness. White space above the iris is definitely weird looking unless you are doing that surprised look. Though it actually isn't all that uncommon for there to be white space on the underside of the iris. I had an art teacher who insisted that everyone has it underneath(even though my own eyes don't at all...haha) and I thought it was kind of funny that while watching there was a thumbnail for "How to draw comics the marvel way part 8" on the right which was an eye w/ white under the iris.

So basically the 3rd eye. Man to bad you were too young to be my art teacher in the 90's. I would have learned more in 10 minutes than what they could ever teach me. That's when I started emulating you're style.
I've never had truly my own style. I'm just a xerox copy machine. One day when I saw spidey #1. I bought it and decided I wanted it in poster form. I copied the cover to be a replica of the original cover. Pencil drawing into ink. I spent a good 24 hours in completing it. Still have it to this day framed in glass.
I probably need to go back and touch up the faded ink.
Thank you for NOT choosing Baseball. 👍

You're wrong, because eyeballs are very shiny and reflective, so they catch lots of little secondary light sources, even when in the shadow of the eyebrow from the primary light source. So when a face is in deep shadow, often times you might still see a little white speck or two glinting off the eyeballs, like little embers burning in the dark sockets.

Great work on these videos. I've been studying my comic book illustrations hard core again. 8 to 10 hours a day so that I can start submitting again. Your techniques are going to help greatly! You've always been the reason I started drawing comics at 16 years old when I picked up Spider-Man #1! I know your busy running a company but I gotta try......Check out a speed painting I did of Spawn, your critique is very welcomed! Cant wait to see more videos! Thanks.

But if light is reflecting off your eye, then that must mean that light is shining towards your face, thus, no shadow is cast by your forehead. Right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
