    Hey, Todd! Try Manga Studio Ex 4. The pen tools all feel more natural than photoshop, plus the program was created to draw comics. It works awesome with a Cintiq. You can export import in psd if desired. Seriously, try it if you haven't already...

    Spawn is my single favourite comic book character and, as of now, his creator is my single favourite comic book artist. How wonderful he shares his genius with his fans.

    so is this just the regular photoshop or is this the illustrator version? It's just so expensive and I want to make the right purchase for my needs, which are exactly what's being used here.

      cory arford Illustrator is a totally different program. Photoshop is for bitmaps. Illustrator is for vector graphics. When you're drawing a multicolored images with millions of colors, coloring your drawings, manipulating photos, on a fixed size, your choice is bitmap. When you're making logos, drawing images with flat shapes or simple gradients, with the ability to scale without loss of quality, your choice is vectors. If you're going to draw a lot of lines, q lot of thin crosshatches, instead of clear shapes, it might be best to use PS for digital inking. But if you're aiming for certain kind of retro style, with heavy blacks and using pure black shapes for shadow areas, or perhaps a simplistic art deco style, an argument can be made for vector graphics. But you can also have best of both worlds and use both in your workflow, importing from one program to another. There are also vector tools in PS, and you can just leave them as vector shapes, or convert the layers to bitmap. I noticed you've posted this a year ago, so I think you already had your answer. But maybe someone else might find this helpful... :-)

    I'm just confused on how to scan it into the program. Like my paper is 11×17 bristol and it won't all fit in the scanner.

    • @noahmactutus1520
      @noahmactutus1520 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I scan each corner. Then using adobe bridge, I select the 4 pieces and I use the photomerge inside of bridge. You have to have photoshop for it to work.

    no offense to Mr. Mcfarlane, I was just wondering about how legit a drawing from a computer really is from an artist wanting to get into the business? Mr. Mcfarlane has done his dues so he's allowed, but a new artist doing it would maybe be considered cheating in a way. I guess because of all the tools that you can use, the drawing wouldn't really be all talent but more like look at what i can do with this program. again, please don't misinterpret my comment. I was just wondering if companies rather get paper hand drawn stuff to show the talent rather than an email with some clever use of a program and it's tools.

    Todd go back to making your toys. You haven't drawn anything for like a decade. I'm sure you're reading this from a script.
