- One thing after another happened during my Once-a-Month grocery haul. Forgot my debit card, had to re-ring my items three times, broke a glass, broke a soap bottle, spilled milk, store closed before I could shop, card reader wouldn’t work… I can’t make this stuff up. 🤪 BUT here we are with a house full of food for our large family. After a crazy shopping day, it ended with the most SHOCKING and SWEETEST Surprise!!

Oh my gosh, I know those days when NOTHING goes right and it’s just keeps crashing and crashing and crashing.
You did the right think… BREATH and EAT CHOCOLATE. And wow you were meant to go through things and be later and meet a viewer who gave you the gift card, that had me filling up with tears too. You would’ve missed them otherwise. I love it when someone ‘pays it forward’ like that helps someone just when they’re feeling in the depths of a bad day or bad situation.
Tomorrow’s a new day, the glass can be cleaned up, you’ve got more money tomorrow than you had today (coz you didn’t spend it), and the groceries will still be there tomorrow.
Don’t take it personally when the day was best to stay in bed or indoors, it means that yesterday’s bad day is done and tomorrow will always be better.

I dropped and broke a large bottle of Bragg's Apple cider vinegar in a large store. it stunk up the whole shop, everyone was looking at me and I felt so guilty as Bragg's is horribly expensive here. I wanted to sink into the ground from embarrassment.
Having worked in a store and cleaned up lots of Braggs myself, don't worry about it. We see this stuff all the time, and sometimes we are so glad it isn't a biohazard. Don't be embarrassed, stuff happens.
I buy Aldi's coldbrew concentrate. It's $7.99 a bottle and lasts me so many coffees! Totally recommend if you are looking for a coldbrew recommendation
Leftover seedless grapes can always go into smoothies (always my go to answer for excess fruit). There was a tik tok viral recipe trend involving freezing grapes inside a ziploc bag with powdered gelatin sprinkled all over them before freezing them. Maybe the kids would enjoy that? You can always flavor your Fage yogurt with a dollop of lemon curd or any flavor of jelly you have. Plain yogurt with a swirl of lemon curd is simply delicious.
You were a trooper! I'm so sorry all those random things happened, but I am glad you found some kindness in it all. I wanted to give you a big hug!
Zoup is awesome. I have been a sipper when I was sick but I prefer it in cooking too.
A note about the sleepy cereal... there is an ice cream called nightfood that has a lot of magnesium in it that can help you relax. Chances are that's what the cereal has. I'm skeptical about eating carbs before bed though.

Hey Megan..wanted to tell you there is a cold brew kettle on Amazon that I use, then when it's done brewing I put in in a tall Mason jar and put a lid with a handle also from Amazon ( was was from Walmart) then I add my favorite creamer..so then I have cold brew coffee for a few days
Freeze the grapes. They last longer and a cool treat on a warm day. Novelty texture as well.

The Champaign-Urbana Meijer's often has really exotic produce, like the banana leaves. I was there once when a teeny-tiny elderly Vietnamese woman (about 4 1/2 feet tall and probably all of 80 lbs) put 3 GIANT jackfruit in her cart. They were almost as big as she was. I was going to offer to help her pick them up, but she did fine on her own. C/U is a university town, so I think they must order in special produce to meet the very diverse demand.
I would buy three sets of those planter pots, keep the big ones that you wanted then gift the others away with a plant inside. Or keep them all!

I have been making my own cold brew for about 5 months. I got a jar with a filter from Amazon. I just use regular coffee. Put in the fridge and it ready the next morning.
Been there, done that! During Covid, I only went out every 2 weeks to stock up and I had a full grocery cart and left my card at home! Thankfully I live in a small city and could get home and back in less then 15-20 minutes! Everyone has bad days and today was yours! Tomorrow will definitely be mine lol. Our walkin cooler at work broke down on Monday so we had to shift everything into the bar cooler, which isn't big and our grocery order was coming on Tuesday so everything from that had to go into the catering cooler. Well now it is Wednesday and the part finally came in so hopefully tomorrow we can move everything back into the restaurant cooler because I need to do a grocery order, well working, and everything is scattered in a lot of places!!! On that note, eat more chocolate lol!

Put the grapes in the freezer, so good especially on a hot day. They will stay good for few months frozen.
Another great shopping haul. Even if you encounter a few bumps in the road. Life is ful of surprises. Thank goodness 🙏 for the surprise gift card at Walmart.

I like to make my own cold brew 99% of the time. I use the same coffee that I use to make my daily hot coffee finely ground to make it a bit stronger. I have a cold brew pitcher (spot for the grounds in the center) 10/10 recommend.
Also yeah I can’t wait for fall either. The other day I was like it’s basically here, right? (No, sadly it’s not) haha

If I drink bone broth it has to be homemade! The rest all taste weird to me! I usually just boil a chicken like I am making soup. Including the carrots celery and onion. Then I shred the chicken and use it for meals for the week, and drink the broth.
There are two variations of cornbread. The less sweet version is typical to the South. The super sweet version is eaten up in the Northern US. Both are delicious especially with a dollop of butter. Yum!!!
The cereal bars and bread at Wal-Mart are both good, just keep an eye on the bread it goes bad quicker then most breads.

If you blend the cottage cheese and make your ranch dressing, so much more protein 😋 Also, I love to drink chicken broth, but has to be salted and peppered well. So comforting 🎉
Try doing half and half with the pasta. We still do that with bread, too. Also, instead of jelly, we just plunk grapes, blueberries, or sliced strawberries on our peanut butter sandwiches. Healthy AND tasty.

Put your grapes strawberries and fresh fruit in masons jars and with the lids on them they will last longer

I use either Folgers or Bones flavored coffee for cold brew. I much prefer it to the bottled cold brew
Hi Meghan I'm not sure ,but I think the sweet cornbread might have the bell peppers in there much like the green giant Mexicorn in a can that has the bell peppers and onions?in them.I don't think the onions are in the sweet cornbread though? We went to Winn Dixie today after my doctors appointment since the sale flyer goes in affect Wed. We got 98.00 worth of groceries for 80.00. In store coupons, buy 1 get 1. Racking up our points. I dropped a glass bottle of Panera bread dressing. Only glass thing I was buying. My eyes were watering I felt horrible. They were super sweet and went and cleaned it up and kept telling me it was fine.

What a crazy shop day! Yup that has happened to me. I dropped a whole carton of eggs when I was putting them on the conveyor to check out at Costco once. It was not a pretty sight to see. Thank you for all the time you take sharing your grocery hauls with us.

my dil uses cold brew and she makes it herself. she bought this container that has a filter in it and just adds coffee and water and leave it in the frig overnight. it takes a lot of coffee

The awake cereal is the special k version of Walmarts. It is really good
They say a course ground coffee works best for cold brew (depends how good your filter is.) I just add 1/2 cup regular coffee grinds to a french press plus 3 1/2 cups of water. Cover and sit in frig for 24 hours. Then I push down the press and pour the concentrate into a mason jar and store in the frig. I use it straight with a little milk, a little Torani sugar free salted caramel and lots of ice (which dilutes it to just right.)

May I ask why you buy the disinfecting wipes? They contain chemicals and artifical fragrances. Diluted vinegar in a spray would be cheap and safe!
Cold brew….I go to a local coffee roaster and get their cold brew blend. It’s delicious!
I honestly think I would have given up after the first store and then going home and breaking the glass. My night would have been over but that’s just me. Glad you were able to push through.

It's awful to "rejoice" at someone else's misery....however it's great knowing I'm not alone in have a really bad day where everything becomes a drama. Glad though all worked out in the end.

Ok because it is like asking for more trouble...oh and when you make canned refried beans add some bacon grease about 1 Tablespoon per small can(Yep) and a pinch or two of garlic powder...yesss it smoothes out the dried up beans adds more protien and tastes delish! Oh on my salads I love to add honey roasted sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, garlic croutons, ham chunks green onions tomato avocado cilantro and Spring mix or just Romaine Lettuce yum & homemade Ranch or Asian Sesame dressing...Again I love you girl hugs to everyone and thank you a gazillion times for taking us shopping with you...I need to watch that everyday...bye for now😍

Cornbread- We tried both brands and they were both so crumbly. We really liked the Jiffy brand I think it is. I feel like it was pretty cheap too!
I bought my cold brew in the refrigerator section. It was so good. I am old it’s better for me to not make it at home. Lol
For cod brew you need a dark roast or strong coffee.
I buy great value restaurant style dressing and it tastes just like olive gardens. And cheaper.

Oh my goodness! Very rough day! I had a rough day today. I went to the store with my son and something happened to the right front tire area that made our hubcap MELT! I have no clue what happened and my husband is in another country right now. Thankfully his work colleagues were able to rescue me and our son. My husband will get the car figured out when he gets back, but oh my gosh I am tired and drained. This was just the icing on the cake for other issues going on in our lives right now. I’m pregnant and hormonal as well. Came home and had a breakdown. 😭I just want things to get better.

I busted a carton of milk a week ago at Walmart. I'm pregnant currently and my grip (lack of) is awful! I felt so bad as it was my first time having a spill. They were so nice about it.
True southern cornbread isn't sweet. Mississippi girl born and raised. We make with buttermilk and never add sugar. I lived in South Carolina for a while and they used sweet jiffy mix a lot. MS says negative to that! 😂😂😂😂😂❤

those candy heart grapes are very good. that is totally my luck, having problems at check out with card, cash back not go through for me. wasnt able to return a gift to me that someone bought on credit card coz they say only $ back to the card. well its my gift that didnt fit. happened before & they gave the $ back to the person not me. its a rule when things go wrong, its bound to happen again the same day. i try to eat chocolate everyday! lol. i cant wait to see the new sales for Sams club, ours is about 8 miles away. a happy birthday to your son! you got blessed, 50$ is alot of $! that has never happened to me.
