ASMR Mecha Maintenance | Relaxing Fixing You Roleplay

- I’ve had a good few requests over the years for a Neon Genesis Evangelion or Gundam ASMR roleplay, so here’s the closest thing I could muster (my mech experience is playing AC 2 over twenty years ago). In this fixing you roleplay, a friendly technician will give you some much-needed TLC, tighten some screws, and provide a lot of personal attention and positive affirmations. Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

It is always shocking to me how convincing your American accent it. The best kudos I can give are that you were affecting it in the first video I watched of yours and in the second I was like "damn, this guy has an incredible British accent!".
To this day I still had no idea which of the affects he does was his actual accent, but I'll believe this comment that it's apparently British

I honestly couldn't help but imagine that the mech was sentient somehow and was just watching the mechanic work while actually feeling good that someone still cared. 🥺
I like to imagine that the mechanic knew about that, that's why he talks to us during the repairs

Is this the return of Joe the Mechanic? No. Different accent, but the same compassion and respect for the machines in his care. He's a perfectionist. All good engineers / mechanics / mad scientists talk to what they're repairing or creating. Thank you for the positive affirmations. You talk to us embarrassingly better than people in our real lives. I blush.
Getting Pacific Rim and Charlie Hunam vibes here. A while ago I made up silly names for mechas based on the naming pattern in Pacific Rim, but probably can't share them here for risk of violating language policies. My mecha serial number would also spell out rude words when viewed upside down and backward on a calculator.
can confirm with the mechanics talking to what they're repairing, mostly just cursing but there are some that talk to their projects, i love to talk to my lathe.

Love this one! The lighting is excellent and the background really gives the feeling of height. The use of the safety ropes for ASMR was so original too. This character really made me want to know more about them. The tone was spot on and very soothing. Favorite moments were the “of course I have my helmet on…” bits. Thanks for taking the time to create this and for having such original and well executed ideas. 🙂

I’m blown away. I’m been an avid film and asmr lover for years and this is by far amazing. Haven’t watched anything close to this level of creativity. 90s-2000s science fiction done right. I seriously hope you make a film someday.

I remember my very first ASMR video, zero clue what they even were a few years back and it was Jim and he was a mechanic and doing a fixing-you type one and I absolutely adored it. I’ve been playing through AC6 recently, and have grown hyper obsessed over it (V.IV Rusty my beloved). This is very welcome!!!
I highly recommend the game btw, everything I’ve ever wanted from a mech game even as a newcomer to the series… which doesn’t matter too much considering it’s standalone
On my fourth play through of ac6 love it to death to the point I got Rusty’s callsign as a fridge decal

Listening to this, it reminds me of the Homelander video
The voice, inflections and general way of speaking are oddly reminiscent, most notably in “perfect, just perfect” (which may be a reference anyways)
It’s like an alternate universe where Homelander doesn’t become a sociopathic superhero, but instead an empathetic engineer.

As much as i loved the fantasy series ones like occult cowboy and druid trio, i think your scifi repairs were some of the sleepiest. But a lot of your more off the wall roleplays were your all time best, like the fucking bomb investigators.
I don't know why this reminds me so much of Zone of the Enders, but it does. Lovely game series. I'd highly reccomend it, Jim - it's a bit like Neon Genesis Evangalion, if that explenation even really does it any justice. I don't really know if you can find the first game anywhere anymore other than on the PS2, but I do know the 4K HD remaster of the second game, ZONE OF THE ENDERS THE 2nd RUNNER : M∀RS, is on steam.

How in the world do you do these scene set-ups? They're so good! This character is adorable. The way he rocks back and forth excitedly on the cables as he gushes about how much of an amazing machine we are is so cute. And those tool sounds? Love it! Your costume looks great (I'm also a complete sucker for the bandana around the forehead 😑). Thank you for another video! I hope it's okay to ask, but would you ever consider doing your own version of a nine-tailed fox? I got the idea to ask after watching the Korean drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed". You do fantasy so well and I think you would be great at it. But only do it if you want to, of course 😸

Jim, you already provide so much amazing content for your fans so i feel bad making a request, since you come up with such great material on your own. but if you were ever in need of roleplay ideas... there is a *criminal* lack of ASMR content featuring the members/frontman of the band Sleep Token. but honestly, i think you'd be the only ASMRtist who could pull it off.
if you haven't heard of them, Sleep Token is an incredibly lore-rich project, their costumes and whole vibe just scream to be adapted into one of your dark, grimey first person experiences. Vessel inducting another hapless worshipper into the cult of Sleep... yeah, i think you're the man for the job, Jim. 🙏🙏🙏
