I tend to usually wait to see a few songs/covers I like before throwing a subscribe to a musical artist... no idea what I was waiting for with you (literally, I listen to your Jealousy cover on a daily basis), but this made me realizing I'd spent far too long without hitting the Subscribe button at the bell. This sounds like it was a tough video to assemble, but it was well worth it, I think, it was great, close enough to the real deal to be recognizable but far enough from it to be worth having made, I especially liked the alternate takes on a few angles, like the one when the line "how at night" came up. It was also super cute hearing you thank all your patreons by name, I'm sorry this wasn't exactly all sunshine and roses to put together, but thank you for going through and making/releasing it. You go the extra mile often, such as this entirely new video or some lyrical additions/creativity to "I'm Glad You're Evil Too", and I'm sure I'm not the only person grateful for all the effort that must go into your covers, even if it's hard sometimes or things happen. Edit: I forgot a few words in a sentence.
The lead guitar is a bit off, it needs a little bit of crunch. The vocal has that much punch tho it's a bit weak at the first chorrus. Overall it's a solid cover.

I was so happy to see you cover this because while others have done english covers already, most of them were acoustics and I wanted to hear an english cover done with the actual instruments! I also love that you took the time to remake the video! However, I agree with a lot of the comments that the main guitar does sound slightly off- it's not as noticeable until that solo around 2:09. I asked my friend who knows about music and they agreed with a lot of people in the comments that it needs more gain because since it has low gain it makes the notes sound off. Again, lovely video! I hope you take this as constructive- I've been listening to your covers for a while and would love to see you do more of Yorushika's song in the future.

I associate this song with a few things. One is a pair of girls who have been inseparable for years. There's a supernatural threat affecting them both, and one plans to sacrifice herself to save the other, who's been holding out hope for there being a way to escape it without anything bad happening. The first girl knows that's impossible, and deep down inside, so does the second girl. During a lot of the song, the first girl does things like clearing her browser history, reminiscing on her life, doing the kind of stuff you'd do if it was your last day on earth. She's also writing a letter to the other girl, hiding it in her room for her to find. Then right before the bridge she's going downstairs at midnight, in much fancier clothing than you'd expect someone to be wearing at midnight without an event, because who wants a boring ghost outfit? And the second girl gets up and asks her what's going on, she'll die if she goes there alone at night, and then realizes why her friend was acting so weird all day. She tries to get her to call it off, but it doesn't work and it finally hits her for real that this is the only way. The first girl promises to meet again in the afterlife, and the next shot is of her alone, opening a door with nothing but darkness on the other side, ready to save her best friend.

I'll be honest, I prefer the original MV. That shouldn't undermine how actively stunning this one is though. The original MV had a team of professionals behind it, where this is a solo animation by a first time animator (and it's 4 minutes long). The aesthetic has been captured almost perfectly with the subtle changes like the backing images that fit with the slightly different lyrics (which imo give it a different tone). Overall, this is superb. Great job!

One day- they get a note. ripping it open, she reads... her lover died on the battlefield. she's distraught, stalking to herself as if she's talking to a ghost.

I'll be honest, I prefer the original MV. That shouldn't undermine how actively stunning this one is though. The original MV had a team of professionals behind it, where this is a solo animation by a first time animator (and it's 4 minutes long). The aesthetic has been captured almost perfectly with the subtle changes like the backing images that fit with the slightly different lyrics (which imo give it a different tone). Overall, this is superb. Great job!

@@kasrkin5488/ Do you remember taking art in school, and how much of it was drawing what you see? Structurally, yes it's a copy. Structurally, any cover is a copy of the original song as well. Why does that detract from its worth?

Finally saw this and this is super just amazing Rachie!! The animation and video is really great, it's really amazing that this was the result of your first animation project. It must have been tons of work but it was worth it, because hearing your cover and being able to see the custom video too is really cool!
