Good idea to get shots of the Morrison Knudsen and F59 PHI locos. The M-Ks are to be replaced by Siemens Chargers and the F59s cant last forever either. The look of Coaster trains is about to change a lot, and no more double heading on Comic Con weekend
3:48 my favorite shot and second favorite cabcar. I just LOVE the coaster more than anything! My favorites are for cabcars 2309, 2310 and 2302 and for F40s are 2105, 2101 and 2104.
I ride the coaster from San Diego to Oceanside to pick up my grandkids. One hour trip. Friday nights my nephew drives from Sorrento Valley to Oceanside for work takes him two hours!!
Great video as always, Coaster has one of the best paint schemes in the country! Did you get a chance this week to travel to an area that got snowfall?
Thank you! I've always liked the Coaster color combination. A very simple but nice scheme. I did not get any snow because I'm still in Southern California, but there's a good chance I'll run into some in about a week.
Hey Mike, did you ever or still live in San Diego before? Because ever since you started, San Diego was sorta like your base of operations other than LA when I thinked about it! Anyway watching Coaster and Surfliner trains NEVER gets old! Thanks for this great video Mike!
Great Mike! Question, why do Coaster engines and cars have the small black pointy funnels on the roof? What are they? Also, why did Coaster remove the fuel tank side shields on 3001 & 3002?
Nice 👌video I didn't know that you and Kyle Edwards we're good friends oh I have 2 questions so why did Chicago had to purchase the F59PHI for metra. And 2 what camera do you use for the pictures?
Thanks! Metra bought the F59s because their fleet of F40s is getting old and tired, so they wanted some newer locomotives. Used locomotives are much less expensive than brand new ones, so the F59s are a good option for Metra. These videos were filmed with a Canon XF400.
What's your favorite commuter train the only commuter train rode in is Metrolink and Amtrak, I rode in Metrolink multiple times I only been in Amtrak once and that was to New Orleans I live I'm CA Los Angeles the trips were fun I might go again this year when schools out. GOOD MAKING TH-cam VIDEOS
Dear Friend: I am a fan of the railroads and I am going to travel to the United States in the month of June next. I will visit the cities of Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco and possibly San Diego. I need to know what routes it recommends to do, either between cities or urban systems, such as trams in different cities. Which route recommends me to do with beautiful views. Thank you very much and I greet you Fausto Brindisi from Argentina
You should come to Texas and railfan the tower 55 In Fort Worth with BNSF,UP, TRE, TEX Rail, and Amtrak heartland flyer and Texas eagle on the famous interlock
I'd prefer to replace them with just newer versions of the original style of Cab Car (SunRail bought them as late as 2014, so who's to say Coaster can't buy any more?), either that, or completely overhaul them, and give them E-Bells and their original horns back so they sound just like they did back in like 2006. Tri-Rail (who actually prefers the Bombardiers over the Hyundai Rotem cars) and Trinity Railway Express (who currently owns the first Bombardier Bi-Level Coach ever built) are well proving that old Bombardiers can run for a VERY long time if well cared for.
Most of what my channel is known for is doing videos like this. I am trying to get the next Train Talk done and I have a script all ready to go but since I am currently in the middle of a move, it is hard to find both time and space to record the narration. I am hoping to have it done in time for next week, but we'll see.

Beautiful video of the Coaster Trains
0:53 The legend of all passenger train horns!
Miss the old days when the F40ph and the F59phi were still running, Imo, the F40’s were the best!

What a nice passenger train. The locomotives sometimes look like a freight train to me!
Well, they were based on freight locomotives, so that definitely makes sense!
3:48 my favorite shot and second favorite cabcar. I just LOVE the coaster more than anything! My favorites are for cabcars 2309, 2310 and 2302 and for F40s are 2105, 2101 and 2104.
Beautiful shooting. Especially from the top. Very good selection and installation. Nice to watch great trains . Thanks for your work.

All Aboard! Coaster provides the Passenger Trains Galore 2. My favorite is 2102. All Aboard for Coaster!
Great video
Thanks!
great catches and video of these coasters
Nice video
Thank you!
Hey Mike, do you remember seeing Santa Fe 3751? It's wonderful.
Has anyone else noticed that at least two of the four car sets were made of three cabcars and one coach?? Only on Coaster I guess.
Yeah, Coaster and ACE do that from time to time. Coaster does it quite often.
CoasterFan2105 oh seems legit 😂
Klasse Video, Danke
Awesome Video Mike
Very nice video! I like it! Fantastic.😊
Thank you :D
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
I love the coaster and as well as your channel Mike until next I will see you down the line thank for the video
Thank you! I'll see you down the line!

Doesn’t excite me like steam trains but beautifully framed videos. Well done 👍
Thank you! There will be more steam next month!

Great Mike! Question, why do Coaster engines and cars have the small black pointy funnels on the roof? What are they? Also, why did Coaster remove the fuel tank side shields on 3001 & 3002?
I went on the coaster today and the number was 2105
I saw 2105 yesterday!
@@CoasterFan2105 cool .p.s I love your videos
Golden Freddy Films my favorite F40
Those bombardier coaches has toilets in them ?
At least you're far enough South that the snow didn't hit, or did it?
The closest thing we get to snow in San Diego would be a large hail storm, and even those are pretty rare. We've just been getting lots of rain.
No snow where I currently am, although I may be dealing with a lot more of it in about a week.

Ah i thought that there f40ph were still being use for there metra trains. so when did you and Kyle Edwards became friends?
Metra is using the F40s in addition to the F59s. I've known Kyle for probably 10 years.
Okay that's cool
Have you been to Cincinnati?
You have allot of Subscribers
Are you planning on meeting Kyle Edwards?
What r those red lights on the end of the train for?
Those are marker lights. They turn on on the last car (or locomotive in push mode) of the train.
What are they used for?
Did you not read what was said? Marker lights ... to identify the end of the train.

Well, I should be in the Dallas - Fort Worth area the last week of April!
Mike when are you doing the Metrolink Antelope Valley video
I'm not sure. I may end up just redoing that video at some point. I've had to delay it for other videos.
Ok thankyou
It's time for another Train Talk. How about the history and operation of the San Diego Trolly?
I'm hoping to get the next Train Talk out next week, but I have been very busy with the move. Hopefully, it will be done in time.
The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority is 8 years older than NCTD
Anyone think they might consider buying those new cabcars used on GoTransit & the Sounder Train?
Oh, God, I would HATE that SO MUCH...
Superbaddy4 I’m just saying, cause it looks like there F40’s & passenger cars are really showing their age.

I just hope they dont get rid of tge K5LAs for those dreaded goose horns those metrolink cab cars have, it would be an atrocity
I have a question why are american narrow gauge locomotive so much bigger the those of British design
How many F40'S does Coaster own?
5
@@easternroutemainlinevideos6823 thought they had 12
@@southshorerailvideos1122 nope :) they have 5 F40PHM-2Cs. 2101 2102 2103 2104 and 2105. They also own 2 F59PHIs 3001/3002.
The F40s will unfortunately be replaced by Siemens Chargers soon. So, let's enjoy them now while they last.
@@superbaddy4 WHAT! how dare they replace them with chargers how long until the replacement?
8:47 What kind of horn is this?
K5CA
2303 and 2304 have K5CAs. The one you saw there was 2303. They sound not the best but not worst either.
