I have the Nurture 360 & when I put them in lockdown the last 3 days I always put a shelf liner that I cut to fit in so they don’t get splay legs. Just thought I would share. Thanks for sharing.
@Mark Chidester I have the Maticoopx and have hatched 3 sets. The first was 94 percent, the 2 chick's I got 84 percent, the 3rd was 97 percent. That's with all healthy parents. If the egg never was fertile I will not put that in my percent. It's not your fault or your incubator fault. Good luck. 60 is not bad
Why did you raise the temp in the Maticoopx? We have one coming and I was curious if the slightly higher temp increased your hatch rate or if you noticed the temp was reading incorrectly. Really enjoy the videos 👍
I usually just leave mine at 99.5 but I increased it one degree to 100.5 to test a theory. They claim that you can determine what sex you mostly hatch by the temperature. It does not work. Just leave it at 99.5 if you're hatching chickens and it will be fine.
can you lay bantam eggs sideways in the auto turner trays on the Maticoopx and not have them roll out of the trays when, it's turning, if you don't have enough bantam eggs to stand them up pointed end down? I like the idea of the capacity but afraid I may not have enough eggs to fill the trays with them standing up. Was thinking I may be able to lay them sideways if I need to incubate and not have enough eggs to fill the incubator. Looking at both incubators as well.
You can lay them down if you want. They will stay in the trays just fine. But if you want to know a secret, you can unfold a paper clip and stick it through the holes on the trays to hold the eggs upright. Just leave a little wiggle room though. If you put too much pressure on the eggs then they will break. But it actually says that you can lay them down in the instruction book.
Great! I have 14 days left and my humidity is between 40-50 and that’s with the little humidity window full open and I have the clear bottom cracked open because it gets over 55. I only have the reservoir 1 with water. What should my humidity be at in a humid area and what should I strive for on lockdown?
The eggs you have waiting to but in next ,keep them under 70 F until time to incubation . I have the maticoopx also. Sometimes if the temp of the eggs get to warm in your home it can ruin them. Good video.

How has your hatch rate been?
We have run about 6 to 8 full loads and haven't done better than 60 percent.

@@mendy5453 You want to try and keep the humidity between 50 - 55% until lockdown. Once you lock it down, you want to try to keep it around 70%.

Good idea. Haven't thought about that. I've just been using an old Dr.Pepper bottle.
Turkey baster and a 3/16 hose fits on some of the turkey baster if they get sick and need help eating .
