my god I love the towns in this game. unlike some RPGs, the towns in this seem so vivid and with perspective. it isn't just a bunch of NPCs standing around, you will see them doing tasks, chatting with other NPCs, and generally being people who live in a town.
It's weird watching Ni No Kuni again. I've already watched Stampy's let's play, so I know what (almost) everything in the game does, and what (almost) all the ingame plot twists are. I know almost everything that happens in Ni No Kuni, and now I'm watching someone else play it. It's so weird.
yeah, im a bit of a lore freak myself so i love when a game has a lot of written lore where u can find more about the universe, my personal preference though is when its all hidden and u have to find bits and pieces on item descriptions and character dialogs, but thats just because i play so much dark souls, its refreshing to have some info just handed over to you
I would say after every 5 episodes make an episode where we go into the pages. that way we can go over everything in detail, and the story won't suffer from us stopping to read cool stories.
I subscribed for this LP, and I absolutely love your accent. I know you're just kidding around, but your voice work is top drawer. Love from the States!
I actually really like the idea of a protagonist giving up fragments of his heart to advance on a journey and at the end he becomes the villain himself.
I find it interesting how you ask about how you do things as you skip over the dialogue that explains how you do it. You've been doing that all along too. Good example here is the flowers. You were asking if they are ones you find in the world as you skip past dialogue that says specifically you can't get them in shops and that you find them at twinkling locations in the world. Luckily you didn't skip the last bit of dialogue.
What I love about the Yogscast is you have a little bit of everything. If you want lighthearted fun, you go to Martyn. If you want serious, even morbid RP let's-plays, you can watch Rythian. And if you just want some good, old-fashioned comedy, you watch Simon and Lewis.
When you complete errands, youll get stamps onyour merid cards. Shen a card is full, youll get a point that you can use or save up for different extra's for Oliver (like jumping, running faster or get extra HP/MP)
Things you should do / show: Talking to people in town, running around/exploring (big part of game) , I like to watch battles because it doesn't get old at all (opinion), people will be sad if they don't know what happened to your items health or magic after a cut, Shopping and gearing. idk for me I think everything make the game fun to watch, i just wouldn't cut stuff out at all. + that idea for lore is cool but maybe just a link at spots in the video when you get them.
I'd love to see the lore! And though it'll take a while getting from place to place, the game was designed by Level 5 and Ghibli! =D I'd be cool with watching you travel the land but if you have to cut it that's cool
DON'T CHOP IT OUT, SPEED UP THE FOOTAGE! cutting parts out means the audience feels like it's missed out of something but if you speed it up we don't feel like we've missed anything. :)
Man I wish I could play this game, loving the play through so far and not having a PS3 to play it kind of sucks. I know they did release a NDS version but it never received an English localization(and I don't read Japanese so no go there either) and likely won't from my research but who knows maybe I'll get lucky and they'll release it on the 3DS in a few years and I'll be happy.
Man you have to love Studio Ghibli animation, no matter which way and how you cut it! Its the best. Can't wait till I actually get this game. until now. I'm just going to enjoy you playing it for me.
In old times, medival and further back, kids were given dresses with no trousers so that they could pee and pop whenever they needed it. As they learned to hold it they got trousers. I actually like that they inplanted that into the game.
I would love it if your videos would be 30-40 minutes long so I can enjoy them more at once, and so I don't have to wait a day or two or even three to have enough video to enjoy.
He could do a mix, and cut out a few of the battle but keep in the important ones that cost him items and are more difficult, aka the entertaining ones for people who are not like us because i enjoy seeing everything :P
Calcifer is a character from Howl's Moving Castle, so it's not really surprising the heart looked like him. Anyways he's a little demon thing that takes Howl's heart in order to give him powers, but when Howl and Cal first meet Cal has the same kind of shiny animation.
Martin you should definitely cut out the grinding when you feel you're under leveled and need to play catch up, but when you're just running from objective A to B it shouldn't necessary.
I think you could cut out any grinding you might do, but all the fights while travelling the world map to reach new destinations should be there. Also, you could perhaps make a mini-series where you you read us the accumulated lore every few episodes?
For the lore you could make separate videos and link them through annotations for us to click on to see. They we could pause the main video if we want to watch the lore and come back. Those who don't want to watch the lore can just continue the main video.
i must admit when i first started watching martyn's vids he didnt realy hook me as such but i thought id subscribe to him and over time ive realy come to enjoy his vids and learn more about martyn and he seems like such a cool guy ........................ EHRMAGERD I RUV ROU MARTYYYN
but have annotations linking to the video in another tab. And if you don't want to read them, then just have them zoomed in enough to read and scroll through them at a decent enough pace so that you can pause to read a section.
To inthelittlewood, I realy do apprishiate the Ni No Kuni videos. I hope you can increase the releases of videos though i do understand if you dont have time or just dont want to. yours truly santa claus (if you increase the videos you might get more pressents next christmass, not promissing anything as im not real).
You could always do like Jesse Cox and hold the lore on the screen long enough for someone to pause the video and read it themselves, that way people can decide whether to read or not and you don't take up too much time for those who don't.
I say cutting out leveling is fine, probably be easier for you too. I know I kind of zone out when leveling XD but the lore! Yes, please read that ^-^ it's usually hard to read stuff like that ourselves from a youtube video; all depends on the size of the text.
The cell-shading in this game is awesome.
my god I love the towns in this game. unlike some RPGs, the towns in this seem so vivid and with perspective. it isn't just a bunch of NPCs standing around, you will see them doing tasks, chatting with other NPCs, and generally being people who live in a town.

Same here
Same here am with you too 👍🏼
TCarrot Gaming me too
same hear to
Me to but I kinda skipped a few episodes

I can't wait until he starts getting his own familiars. I really want to see what team he builds up.
I would say after every 5 episodes make an episode where we go into the pages. that way we can go over everything in detail, and the story won't suffer from us stopping to read cool stories.
I would quite enjoy reading the lore. This game looks phenomenal!
This is my absolute favorite series. It's I really like the epic story and all the happiness of it. Keep up the good work Martyn and have fun. :)
I'm just laughing at 'ding-dong doorman'....
I subscribed for this LP, and I absolutely love your accent. I know you're just kidding around, but your voice work is top drawer. Love from the States!
A MILLION PAGES! *got four*
Ahum...
I actually really like the idea of a protagonist giving up fragments of his heart to advance on a journey and at the end he becomes the villain himself.
"I found one of your kids, I'll find the rest tomorrow"
how very sympathetic you are to other's plights, o gracious hero martyn
This game's only been out for a week and a half and it already feels like ages ago I first went to Ding Dong Dell. There's so much story to this game.
I would say "WOAH!" if you swung your arm, Martyn.
So would I, but I'd duck if I were you! XD
I'm starting to believe that Martyn is the voice actor for ALL of the voices from Starfox Adventures.
The cat lady reminds me of The Cat Returns :3
Having the lore in the video or as an separate series would be proper tidy!
Keep up the great work. :D
YAY PEE PEE TIME LOL!!!
Pffft yep weird
If the game is 40 hours long I want the series to be as well
The longer this series the better!
I just love everything drippy does and how he looks and all
I find it interesting how you ask about how you do things as you skip over the dialogue that explains how you do it. You've been doing that all along too. Good example here is the flowers. You were asking if they are ones you find in the world as you skip past dialogue that says specifically you can't get them in shops and that you find them at twinkling locations in the world. Luckily you didn't skip the last bit of dialogue.
I've never realized how good of a voice actor Martyn is. It's awesome.
Don't skip ANYTHING! I wan to see every repetitive, lore intensive moment NO MATTER HOW FRUSTRATING!
it's been 4 years since I've watched this.... nostalgia is hitting me in the ballsacks
I hope they feel better
What I love about the Yogscast is you have a little bit of everything.
If you want lighthearted fun, you go to Martyn.
If you want serious, even morbid RP let's-plays, you can watch Rythian.
And if you just want some good, old-fashioned comedy, you watch Simon and Lewis.
I never get tired of that adorable sound Strippy makes!
Also dont skip when something epic happens during the fight.
The boys are going to be outside in the cold at night! Save them Martyn!
7th time rewatching this series love it
this is by far the best series that you have ever done martin!
I know their too long but i quite enjoy them. I dont care if this series takes a year. Its something to look forward to a few times a week.
I really enjoy this series! I would enjoy learning the lore, actually. Maybe make it a sort of side-series/bonus-content sort of thing?
When you complete errands, youll get stamps onyour merid cards. Shen a card is full, youll get a point that you can use or save up for different extra's for Oliver (like jumping, running faster or get extra HP/MP)
i feel bad for all of those mobs getting owned in one or two hits
This series is why I subscribed to inthelittlewood.
I want to see all 40 hours of this game! Great content!
Holy cow, that door with the swift is beautiful, I want one!
Yes, please do read all lore. I would also enjoy watching all 40 hours of game play, so don't leave too much out.
I love your videos so much, I know it will be good before I watch it so I like it before the video even starts! Your awesome!

DON'T CHOP IT OUT, SPEED UP THE FOOTAGE! cutting parts out means the audience feels like it's missed out of something but if you speed it up we don't feel like we've missed anything. :)
IDK why but I love this game and watched every episode over 10 or more times
Man I wish I could play this game, loving the play through so far and not having a PS3 to play it kind of sucks. I know they did release a NDS version but it never received an English localization(and I don't read Japanese so no go there either) and likely won't from my research but who knows maybe I'll get lucky and they'll release it on the 3DS in a few years and I'll be happy.
9:33 Good guy Ollie, doesn't smash all the pots in town :D
Haha, when the little boy was hurt, "Which spell do I use, Mr Drippy?"
It's obvious that fireball was needed
Man you have to love Studio Ghibli animation, no matter which way and how you cut it! Its the best. Can't wait till I actually get this game. until now. I'm just going to enjoy you playing it for me.
Those two guards at the start would make a great couple.
LOL, that would be funny. Maybe we'd even make it an inside joke. XD
Great video Martyn! I'm listening to Bosozoku Symphony by Area 11 while playing this video and it makes it even better!
wow could this episode get any more "purrrfect"
Well done my young apprentice.
Holy crap your impersonation of Drippy is actually perfect, you could have dubbed his character.
Watching Martyn clearly enjoy a game makes for such an entertaining watch.
"Yay pee pee time!" "Oh... WHAT WHY ARE YOU PEEING IN A BUSH?!" I'm CRYING
In old times, medival and further back, kids were given dresses with no trousers so that they could pee and pop whenever they needed it. As they learned to hold it they got trousers. I actually like that they inplanted that into the game.
Yes thank you Martyn! Gosh i've been enjoying this series!!
I would love it if your videos would be 30-40 minutes long so I can enjoy them more at once, and so I don't have to wait a day or two or even three to have enough video to enjoy.
i don't know if martyn has realised, but you can still move your character around even if the enemy has the upper hand.
Strippin and Inthelittlewood with their deep voices singing a Locket full of love
One of my favorite letsplays of all time.
You have a life inthelittlewood, so use that life to record the next part of Ni No Kuni!!
He could do a mix, and cut out a few of the battle but keep in the important ones that cost him items and are more difficult, aka the entertaining ones for people who are not like us because i enjoy seeing everything :P
Thx for making this faster i appreciate it!!!
2 things I like about this game so far: 1 Drippy (E's proper tidy) and 2 Ding Dong Dells Music.
Calcifer is a character from Howl's Moving Castle, so it's not really surprising the heart looked like him. Anyways he's a little demon thing that takes Howl's heart in order to give him powers, but when Howl and Cal first meet Cal has the same kind of shiny animation.
martyn plz dont stop making Ni No Kuni vids!! i love them so much!!! :D :D :3
Martyn loving these vids, please keep up the amazing vids, thanks...
Martin you should definitely cut out the grinding when you feel you're under leveled and need to play catch up, but when you're just running from objective A to B it shouldn't necessary.
We all REALLY need oliver!Computers, laptops, ipads and all the stuff has made us lose enthusiam i wouldnt mind having some enthusiam.
Perfect! I had just run out of new videos to watch!
that's a rather splendid idea even if I do say so myself! but we do need a long episode based off of gameplay too
getting the game on my birthday next week wednesday :) xxx thanks Martyn for shining a light on this game :) x
I think you could cut out any grinding you might do, but all the fights while travelling the world map to reach new destinations should be there. Also, you could perhaps make a mini-series where you you read us the accumulated lore every few episodes?
8:38 i was like "did i just hear that o.O" then i re-watched that part again to confirm what i heard
For the lore you could make separate videos and link them through annotations for us to click on to see. They we could pause the main video if we want to watch the lore and come back. Those who don't want to watch the lore can just continue the main video.
I love the little "Scatman John" reference 12:58
i must admit when i first started watching martyn's vids he didnt realy hook me as such but i thought id subscribe to him and over time ive realy come to enjoy his vids and learn more about martyn and he seems like such a cool guy ........................ EHRMAGERD I RUV ROU MARTYYYN
This is my new favorite series.
For teckkit they're is something called a diamond drill
Its the same as a diamond spade and pick and its all so
Intimidated uses
yes, read the lore. its like story time with inthelitlewood
Brings back so much memories of Dragon Quest Journey of the Cursed king, the graphics is so wonderful, and the gameplay is not so different! :D
Basic physical attacks i.e. swinging a stick as opposed to magic or ranged damage.
Really love this serie! Please keep doing it:D XD
but have annotations linking to the video in another tab. And if you don't want to read them, then just have them zoomed in enough to read and scroll through them at a decent enough pace so that you can pause to read a section.
I'm loving this series!
Martyn if you are doing a quest where you have to find people. They are the blue dots in the map that are twinkling.
Oh how I've yearned for this episode
Loving the Ni no kuni videos ^_^
Yes to lore. Perhaps you could have a separate video where you just go through the book.
Martyn you should do special videos for lore reading! For all of us who cant buy the game or just want to hear you great voice acting :D!
I think this story is about Ollie's quest to defeat his depression over his mothers death and he uses his stuffed animal as a guide to help him.
Loving the voices by the way :D
Oh my Martyn lol :) you're funny and you look to be progressing very well so far :D
oh my god
when he saw what the girl said i laughed so hard my contact poped out XD
These need to be longer 30 min would be amazing!
yes definitely put up the lore pages...I really wanna read them
