Hi, thanks for your comment. You would be very disappointed. There is no process. I think of what I would like to make, and what I think others would like to make. I think about one small part of whatever it is. For example on the book box I started thinking about an hinge, started drawing the parts, and then continued with the rest of the box. There are never any sketches or designs, I just start drawing parts and working out how they will go together. Anyone could do it if they had a try.
Really, really cool! I just did this lift and I will finish the rest this weekend. Me and my nieces really liked the first marble run and I believe they will also love this one! Thanks for sharing the design and the well detailed instructions video! Just out of curiosity, how much time does it take you to design a project like this?
Hi, thank you for your comments. We are glad that you are involving, what we presume to be, your younger family members. It is hard to say how long the models take to design. This one took about ten days, but it changed format several times. If I was just designing it for myself it wouldn't take as long, but, our models need to be suitable for all age groups to build. Filming the instruction video took three more days. The hard part is working at arms length behind a camera. Also, if I make a mistake, I have to start cutting another one. Editing takes another couple of days. So, it's quite a long process, but getting nice comments makes it worth the time.
You guys are freaking genius, i would love to see a video of your creative process !
