Interesting video. In 1959 I attended an airpower demonstration at Eglin AFB. It has been a long time but some of the aircraft that participated were the F-100, F-104, F-105, C-130, B-52 and F-101. May have been some others as the "show" occupied most of the afternoon. I got the impression it was a "by invitation only" event as the spectator stands probably held less than a thousand. I went with a neighbor who was a jet instructor at a nearby Air Force training base. As you described, the fighting capability of those aircraft was featured "live fire" plus a rough field landing by a C-130. It was a very impressive program.
Awesome video, I was working close enough to the main bombing range to hear them, so I decided to try and learn more about it. Your video was the most helpful
I have lived on the edge of the Eglin range my whole life and I have explored it for 30 years. Cool video and informative but honestly you missed so many interesting and historical places there that you should do a whole extra video. I too really enjoy spending time on Google maps scanning for interesting places to explore. I enjoy so much exploring spring heads and clear creeks and finding old tanks and military vehicles while trail riding on my dual sport motorcycle. But everyone has to buy a permit and follow their rules. I love being able to spend time and enjoy this huge and great area and I would ever do something to put at risk our privilege of recreation there. Thanks and I hope you do another video.
I use to love eglin but they don't maintain the rds all boat ramp access has a massive mud hole when it rains and they shut down vehicle access to my family's favorite camping spot j.r walton pond they also make it hard to hunt by short gun season days and constant base closure when the permit isn't cheap to begin with so this may be our last year
@@mrmike1700 I've been considering hiking in to the Jr Walton Pond down the FL trail starting at the 285 trailhead near Mossy Head. Since I've never been to that camp, I'm curious why was that site your familly favorite? Thanks ahead of time.
@@josephmills3864 when it was open for camping we didn't run into a lot of people mostly boyscout group's . It's far out there enough and peaceful. The fishing is good . And there is the small bridge a few hundred yards down the rd with good fishing too . I've hiked the 285 all the way back to downtown crestview 20 miles in one day Enjoy your trip I did

Worked on the Reservation for 10 & 1/2 years. Lot of military history and beautiful areas. Always enjoyed my job (it wasn't work) LOL
