I’ve never really understood why Jesus was so amazed at people’s lack of understanding or faith or whatever when He is the one who created us. He alone knows how and why our minds work the way they do so how does He seem to be amazed at our lack of understanding or anything else?

Actually just had this conversation today! Amen. So many overlook the task/blessing in front of them. Can never be thankful enough and value those little things. Yes parking spaces were such a blessing when I was really ill. In everything I have a blessing. I have a physically demanding and repetitive job and I know I have been appointed angels to help me out because everything slots into place without effort so I can go along and be peaceful and joyful in this work and its a witness, so thankful for that. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

This video made me think of Luke 22:50 (Luke seams to be the only book as far as I know that mentions the healing of the ear).
And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus responded and said, “Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him." (NASB)

This question is not for this teaching but it is a question about the teaching on healing What do we believe in all the promises that Jesus made when He was here on earth. I have used and I have trained my being to believe in all the promises that is in the Bible I just stand on the promises and God heals me every time. Sometimes I have to wait but God has never failed me.

HI Isgin, thanks for writing - the answer is too long for full detail, but it was helpful for me to understand our son and where he is. I'd be happy to send you the CD or MP3 series I did on it if you'd like. I'll summarize a bit though. If you'd like the series email me at cwowi@aol.com and tell me where to mail, or if by MP3 we can send the links.
Our son had the cord around his neck in labor so he had lack of oxygen - he is mentally 4 years old though takes in things higher, and in a wheelchair. He's never met a stranger, and when he was about 20 he came crawling down the hall, army man style pulling himself by his arms, "Dad! Dad! Know what Jesus told me? He said He's going to walk through the mountains with me! Yep! That's what He said alright, (yippee) isn't that great! He's going to walk through the mountains with me!"
So with that background, and having had several visitations with Chris either right there like this one, or at least in his bedroom asleep while the Lord was meeting with me in our living room...
His lesson that night was about the difficulty someone has who has never been whole or has been a very long time with a condition - HIs first point was we think in pictures. His example was "If I say 'cat' what do you think of?" When I gave Him my answer He added that others would think and in their mind see something else.
I asked for examples and He said the woman with the hemoraghing condition of Mark 5 and 'when she heard of Jesus she said...' and of blind Bartimaus 'when he heard it was Jesus of Nazareth he called out, Son of David, have mercy on me...' - and how what they heard formed in their mind images of what it would be to be healed.
He told me of Acts 14:8-9 with the man crippled from birth whose gaze was fastened on Paul and what he was saying, who 'steadfastly beheld him and perceived he had faith to be healed, said 'stand up'...' And so on.
For our son, Chris says he's going to walk through the mountains with the Lord in heaven, and he will run in heaven, and no wheelchair in heaven....and he is content. When an ambulance goes by he grabs my hand and says 'we better pray', and so on....he is content.
Often a person tries to 'stand' on a word for healing, for instance, with no personal revelation - and that isn't faith, that is barely hope, and it is really presumption. Faith is the response to revelation (grace) from heaven about a subject. Faith comes Romans 10:17 says, by a rhema word - a direct word from the Lord to our hearts.
What the woman in Mark 5 had, what Bartimaus had, what the man at Lystra had, was a revelation, a rhema, a word from the Lord that produced faith, it created an image in them of what could be, if they would respond.
Hope that helps...some don't have the mental ability to do so, like my son..he has never been whole so has no idea what that look like, other than in heaven he will be whole....hope it makes sense, blessings, John

Hi John. Thank you for this. I loved hearing it and it’s encouraging to think of the closeness we can have with Jesus.
Figure you’re busy but I had a couple questions if you get the time.
First, would you be willing to share a little of what Jesus told you about why it’s hard for somebody to be healed of a longstanding condition? My wife has had lymohedema in one leg for her entire 38 years and the other leg for about the last 28. We only learned about healing a few years ago.
Was what he said along the lines of just how we see ourselves that you’re used to it and that it’s just so hard to imagine it being healed?
Also, I’m your explanation to Lorraine you said we are saved by a decision and can be lost by a decision. Did that mean that we can’t sin our way from him but we CAN willfully remove ourselves from him as in “I don’t want you anymore, Jesus?”
Thanks so much if you have the time. Jesus bless you

I hope you dont mine if I just share here. I like John. But what does the WORD say? For me.. if someone said "this or that wont happen because Jesus explained it to me" and then they might quote a verse. A..yeah.. ok praise GoD but thats not His word. And Gods not going to tell John something He wont tell me 1st. In regards to me.
What does HIS WORD say? We really have to understand CAN GOD LIE? I use to visit an elderly man that love to hear the word. So I would go and read it and play the word on tapes to him. One day reading and praying asked the lord.. "why is this man not being healed? You gave me this burden for him so I have a right to know." He said "remember when Daniel prayed" I had heard of that story. So I said "ok if this is you where is that written" He came right back with "Daniel 10:9-12." what makes this so wonderful and AWESOME! Is at that time I had NEVER read the book of Daniel or the OT for that matter :)
See Satan had built up such a hedge. Thats the way it was said. That just a simple prayer was not enough. Peter and John at the gate beautiful. Think.. what did they have that you don't? Did they have to ask God for His will or ask Jesus to do ANYTHING? No.. what I have give I unto you. IN JESUS NAME. They said.. you look at us as if we did this of our own power. NO its FAITH in that name. So my point is no matter what ANY man says no matter what I say.. MAKE SURE ITS WRITTEN! If we can truly know GOD CAN NEVER EVER EVER LIE..
I knew a grandmother that had more power of GOD then anyone I ever known or to this day seen anywhere. Sher prayed 4+ hours a day. You had a need it was RIGHT to the word.. she knew it she prayed it ..it happen. FACT most do not want to pay the price. One might LOVE to think if I can just see JESUS... GREAT! Yet...it wont change anything. We believe in HIm.. we then seek pray ..we draw closer to Him.. He to use.. we then fall in love.. He is for you. He came died rose. There is nothing more. Its finished. He gave you ALL the power you need. What EVER you ask.. what EVER you desire.. if you KNOW He hears you.. you KNOW you have the petitions you asked for. So.. ask HIM to tell you what you want to know. Just listen... just sharing.. if I offended forgive me.
I shared because...healings can take time.....YET.. Gods not in any time bubble. There is no WHAT WAS what USE TO BE... HE has not changed. That was just over two days ago He was walking this earth. Behold I give you POWER.. you lay hands on the sick and? But one must be PRAYED UP! Reading seeking praying. NEVER EVER seek the gifts.. they follow the WORD! Think.. JESUS is where? In you.. so ask HIM or all you get when you ask MAN is what that person personally believes. FAITH I LOVE IT!

Hi Jerry, Thanks for writing and I'll be happy to share a bit more detail. Last things first. The decision to believe on Jesus and/or then deciding to 'un-believe'.
Hebrews 6:4-6 and 10:29 lay out one side of this coin, but not the only side. What he shares here is this - "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened (received revelation from the Father that Jesus is Lord) and tasted of the heavenly gift (born again), were made partakers of the Holy Spirit (Spirit-filled, tongue talking believers), tasted the good Word of God (he uses rhema here for 'word', meaning they are used to God talking to them and showing them revelation and receiving directly from Him), and the powers of the age to come (moved in the gifts of the Holy Spirit), if they fall away to renew them to repentance, for they crucify afresh to themselves the Son of God."
In other words, these people know what they are doing, they decide to reject Jesus even as they once decided to accept Him - and they reject Him knowing full and well what they are doing.
Another element to this side of the coin is in 10:29: "How much worse punishment do you suppose is worthy of someone who has 'trodden under foot the Son of God' (a 1st century term for taking out the trash, throwing the trash on the pathways to be walked upon), and counted the blood of the covenant which sanctified them as unholy (unholy things are avoided at all costs), and despise the Spirit of Grace (despised and mocked God's efforts to woo them back to Him).
That side of the coin is very clear - these are people who know what they are doing, and I actually know of a couple of cases like this. There is another side however.
That side is seen in Revelation 3:3-5 in Jesus' word to the believers at Sardis, where He says there are a few who have not yet stained their garments (robes of righteousness) but if those guilty ones do repent He 'won't blot their names out of the book of the living'.
We aren't told what they did, but they were still part of the body of Christ in Sardis - but the threat was their names would possibly be blotted from the book of the living - the Lamb's Book of Life as it is called later (Rev 21:27)
He also threatened the same thing to some in Laodecia as seen in 3: 14-21, where He says they are lukewarm and will be spit out of His mouth. It is out of His mouth the Word comes as a sword, so His statement is similar to the threat to Sardis.
The sins in Laodecia are more clearly spelled out, namely they are rich, have lots of 'things', and think they lack nothing and in fact thinks by their prosperity they are righteous. But before Him they are naked (no robes of righteousness) and miserable. He threatens to reveal their nakedness - expense their false faith openly.
So the one side is mature people who know exactly what they are doing, the other side is people who deceive themselves by a series of small decisions, reject the Lord.
The realm of the heart however is God's realm, not ours. We are told to judge the fruit of their lives, not their heart.
I lean towards grace, remembering a lady in her 60's who died and when she did so she met the Lord somewhere in space she said between her body and heaven. She commented she was surprised to see Him since she hadn't really walked with Him for a long time. His reply to her was, 'Remember when you were 6 years old and asked me into your heart? I never left." And then He said He was sending her back to complete her work on earth.
So I leave that with a definite maybe. At what point a person makes so many small decisions to reject Christ in their life that the final one comes that He leaves, I don't know. Paul turned a man in Corinth (I Cor 5) to Satan for the early destruction of his flesh 'so his spirit will be saved...' - though the man repented and we have II Corinthians 7 as a result).
And I remember an alcoholic believer I arrived at his bedside just as his last breath was escaping his lips and asked the Father if He wanted to raise him from the dead. He told me "No, I've brought him home before he commits a worse sin." - The man was on and off again in his addiction, serving God and then not...
So...yes, people can willfully reject Him. Now that said, I've seen so many cases of young in the faith believers who have a temper tantrum and say things to Him like 'If this is what being a Christian means I don't want it' or in a babyhood emotional tantrum say 'Jesus I don't want you if life is going to be so hard' or things like that - but He knows they have neither the maturity nor reasoning in their hearts behind it, and He stays put in their spirit.
But I do know of a former Bible school director, pastor, and prophet from Kansas years ago who got into an affair, became an alcoholic, ran way with his girlfriend, and rejected all efforts to reconcile - to his family and his Lord. At one point 2 men I knew told me at separate times and not knowing I had talked to the other as it was months apart, but both men said, "I used to pray for him daily, but one day the Lord interrupted my prayer and said to me, Stop praying for him, he has made his decision."
Didn't mean to write an epistle, but you and people reading this may need to know. As to your first question about long term healing and what the Lord taught me that night. Let me first say that I would be happy to send you my Healing School series and a couple others where I go into detail things the Lord has taught me about healing - my gift of course whether by CD or MP3 links - just let me know, preferably email me at cwowi@aol.com.
But in a nutshell He started talking about how people think in pictures. I asked for an example and He said, "If I say 'cat', what do you think of?" I said, "Right away I remember Clipper, the cat Steve (my little brother) saved while we waited on the school bus, the road had been just tarred and that little kitten was covered with it - so we named it Clipper because we took clippers to shave off his fur."
"Exactly. But another person would see in their mind their own cat, or maybe a lion or tiger. When a person is born with a condition or has been a long time in a condition they have no image, no idea what it is to be healed, to have health." I asked for chapter and verse on that.
He said, "The woman who was hemorrhaging in Mark 5 (27-28), it says 'when she heard of Jesus she said...' What do you think she had heard of me?" And I replied about how He healed many, etc...
Then He mentioned Acts 14:8--10 and the man born lame from birth who was transfixed with Paul and his teaching, who Paul perceived had faith to be healed, etc....
He talked of blind Bartimaeus, and others who once they had heard of Him, their imagination soared and faith arose and they began to realize wholeness could be theirs - He reminded me the phrase 'Son of David' is a term for the Messiah, and that's who Bartimaeus called Him -
Anyway...there was much more, but for me and my son it was interesting, as with my son the idea of him whole on earth is a lost concept. Every night when he is home, each Friday night when I'm not on the road, I say 'By His stripes' and Chris finishes 'I was healed', and that is how we've said goodnight all his 38 years since he could talk. But that concept, that he is healed now...he has nothing to define what healing is to him. He is a mental 4 year old though he takes in things much higher, it just gets muted in his brain damage from birth. (Cord around his neck in labor and delivery).
I think your wife would benefit from the different series, as I don't have the time nor space to write it all down here - but that's an idea. Hope that helps though, blessings, John Fenn cwowi@aol.com

I look forward to what the Lord shows me and I have a Journal. I get excited about what he does and share with others to increase their faith. Question John, I hear arguments on meaning of being Luke warm. I don't see it saying a Christian is Luke warm but it say they are poor and naked. Does not sound like talking to a Christian.

    • @CWOWI
      @CWOWI  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi Lorraine, thanks for writing, maybe I can shed some light on your dilemma concerning lukewarm.
The phrase 'lukewarm' is found in Revelation 3:14-21 when the Lord gives a message to the church at Laodecia. So we know He is talking to Christians. That much is settled - the 7 messages He gave to those 7 churches in the state that was called Asia, which is part of modern Turkey today, was to churches established during Paul's Acts 19 stay in Ephesus. So He is talking to believers.
Laodecia was a city in the Roman Empire that was noted for the hot mud baths outside of town - about 1/2 mile or 1 kilometer outside of town. There was a large hospital for eye diseases there, using the mud in various medicinal ways, from a rub and balm over the eyes, to mud baths and things for eye and skin diseases, etc.
The Romans had built an aqueduct so that the hot water could be siphoned off and sent to the city for drinking. It started out very hot direct from the hot springs, but over the distance (1 km or 1/2 mile) it became lukewarm. It was too cool to use directly for cooking, but too hot to drink.
The temperature of the water varied a bit by thermal activity, as did the air temperature - cold days cooled the water, hot days kept it hotter. It was typical of people to sample the water when it came to town, and if lukewarm they spit it out.
The Lord uses these local things in HIs message to them. By telling them they are lukewarm He uses a powerful picture in their minds of being like their lukewarm water - useless!
Notice their sin: They said they are rich, have many possessions, and need nothing. That was what they looked like in the natural - rich, have lots of belongings, needing nothing.
But before Him they are actually wretched, miserable, blind, poor, and most importantly, naked.
The reason being naked in HIs eyes is important is because the righteous are clothed in robes of righteousness (Revelation 19: 7-9, and Matthew 22: 12, where the man had no wedding clothes on, and he was 'speechless' - meaning 'let the redeemed of the Lord say so' and with Romans 10:9-10 with confession we make known our salvation).
So before the Lord they very well may have lost their salvation - Jesus had threatened the church at Sardis with blotting their names out of the book of the living (Revelation 3:4-6).
So that is the contrast with many in our day - outwardly rich, full of things in their lives, needing nothing, not realizing they are not righteous before the Lord, and possibly subject to be 'spewed' out of His mouth.
That said, a person can be unrighteous in some areas and righteous in others - a person may be battling say, alcoholism, but they love the Lord are a good parent and spouse, hold down a good job, give to their church - all righteous before the Lord. But in that one area, that one slice of their life, they are unrighteous.
Like slices of a pizza, say 12 slices - a person may be unrighteous in 1 slice but righteous in 11 slices. They don't lose their salvation for the 1 slice. A decision gets people saved, only a decision can get them 'unsaved'. But it does happen.
Jesus' counsel to Laodecia was to buy gold tried in the fire - and get white clothes - righteousness. That means in their day stand up for their faith, let it be known what they believe and Who they know.
Interestingly, Jesus said if they don't repent 'the shame of your nakedness' may been made to be seen by others. In other words, they would have their sins exposed publicly.
He does the same today, look at the preachers who have fallen from grace for hidden sins they would not deal with. On non-public persona level husbands and/or wives have affairs exposed, a person is allowed to go bankrupt because they never judged themselves for their credit card spending, and so on.
If people don't repent and deal with their sin, He first tries personally and privately between them to get them to change, then outwardly to family, then if needed, to everyone in their circle...and that's the case threatened here.
Hope that helps understanding the term and situation - blessings, John Fenn

From above John - A person can be unrighteous in some areas and righteous in others - a person may be battling say, alcoholism, but they love the Lord are a good parent and spouse, hold down a good job, give to their church - all righteous before the Lord. But in that one area, that one slice of their life, they are unrighteous. Like slices of a pizza, say 12 slices - a person may be unrighteous in 1 slice but righteous in 11 slices.

I believe that this teaching is prophetic for a very fine Christian leader whom I know and respect in regards to his refusal to deal with an obviously bad doctrine of his. Thank you for this.

Hi Guggi, thanks for writing. I'm sorry I do not understand your question.
For our son, who is 38 years old but 4 years old mentally - he loves the Lord, and has had the Lord speak to him several times. He says "When I get to heaven I won't have a wheelchair". And a few times when he sees children running he has said "In heaven I'm going to run like that".
He seems content to wait until then....as his dad, I continually thank the Father and Lord for his healing, but for him, he is content to wait until heaven - he is very happy, never met a stranger, very quick to pray for people, for an ambulance that drives by with siren blaring - just a good and innocent child in a 38 year old man's body (Cord wrapped around his neck in labor cut off his air, causing brain damage)
Thanks for writing, hope I answered your question, but not 100% - let me know, thanks! John Fenn
