- Akita Dog - Yuki, the Japanese Akita, is showing you the summer season from a dog's point of view.
In this episode, Yuki is meeting Yumi again, a beautiful Japanese Akita also living in Hannover, Germany. The dog owners could enjoy the delightful summer, while their dogs could explore the lovely sceneries of Germany.
The summer is the most beautiful season of the year for us humans, but for large dog breeds like the Japanese Akita it can be exhausting. For this reason, the video production of this special episode took longer than expected. We could only shoot videos with Yuki outside when the weather was not so warm.
But now it's finally finished. Have fun!

My little doggie is the puppy of a pure breed Husky and a Boxer/Akita mix, but I swear the more I watch your video's she's so like your Akita and has so many little traits that my other dogs with no Akita blood over the years just never had. Like in the opening minute or so of this video. When she's sitting in front of you and you're petting her, when I do that my dog always rests her paw (and the full weight of her body!) on my arm just like Yuki seems to and also when ever she tilts her head up to look at me when I'm petting her from behind her for instance, she often lets out a big sneeze all over my face, which I noticed Yuki seems to do as well! Yuki's so well behaved though if my dog Ellie so much as sees a bird in the garden, she gets down real low like a lion and starts stalking it. Her prey drive is so high. That poor cat would have been lunch for her in two seconds!

Woef hello i am KENDRA i am a akita from Dutch
Es wäre lieb wenn du antworten würdest. Ich habe auch einen Akita (sie ist noch ziemlich klein, 6 Monate) ist auch sehr brav. Ich weiß das sie sich noch verändern wird! Also mit der Pubertät. Ich habe auch viel Erfahrung mit Hunden, aber sie hat jetz schon einen sehr starken Jagttrieb, sie rennt wirklich allem hinterher das sie nicht kennt. Habt ihr eine Idee ? Nicht das sie sich das jetzt so angewöhnt das sie das für OK empfindet und es dann immer schwieriger wird ihr das 'abzugewöhnen' bzw es halt unter Kontrolle zu bekommen.
Jagen gehört zu den Trieben des Hundes.
Ich hätte da eine Frage ist es schwer einen Akita zu erziehen und was hattest du oder ihr am Anfang für Probleme mit dem Hund.

Edit: I walked my Akita with a collar and fur fell of his neck but now it’s growing again. What should I do to prevent fur falling of his neck?
Thx that’s my Weimaraner and I think I should buy my Akita a harness and about the collar it wasn’t a regular one it was one that could help me pull him because he is strong and I cannot pull him with a regular one so I think I am going to buy him a harness

you think think about the harness pretty much … the Y-ones would be okay … there're some versions of the harness which aren't that good for the moving of the shoulders.
