Thank you for actually showing the locations of the zerk fittings. This is my 3 rd video on this matter and you are the only who showed all of them. No few moments later or Magic Sponge Bob memes
@@eriksadventurelab I was really speaking of the RWD 4Runner, not FWD Toyotas. On the RWD 4Runner, just two greaseable U-joints. No slip joints. I just greased mine not too long ago.
For some reason I can get my grease gun coupler to fit all the zerks on my 01 Sequoia except the front 4x4 shaft U-joint. It’s recessed in a tight space and my coupler won’t click on.
@@ryanb5189 I had to move my GX a bit to get the grease fittings in a position where I can get the grease gun on. You might have to get the 90 deg angled one for some of those really tight spots.
Hi Erik, on the slip joint where does the old grease go when pumping a new grease. On the cross joint you can see that the old grease comes out from sides of the cap were needle bearing are, where as the slip joint just move when pumping a new grease.
@@james_the_darklord there’s no set amount. It’ll depend how long it’s been since your last service. If you put too much it will just come out once the drive shaft moves.
@@sf6425 it’ll just throw grease if you put too much when you start driving. I pump grease in until it moves about 1/4” and if you do it every 5k miles (when I do oil changes) it takes between 5-8 pumps

That was the same issue I saw when seeing other videos so I figured it would be good to show where everything was. Glad to help!
Thank you for posting ! Great n simple video 👍🏻👍🏻
Next up on my to-do list 👊😎👍
Great video man! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tip. I believe for 2WD vehicles (ex: Toyota 4Runner 2wd) you only have 2 grease points. Just the front and rear u-joints.
I could be wrong but I thought 2WD Toyotas didn’t have any greaseable joints.

You won’t see grease come out of the slip joint since there’s a seal. It’s important to not put too much grease in the slip joint.
@@eriksadventurelabso how many pumps to put the right amount?

@@eriksadventurelabany side effects of putting too much grease in slip joint? Any thumb rule when to stop pumping grease in there?

Can I use Mobil one red synthetic grease
I’ve read so many mixed reviews but my opinion is if that’s what you have it’s better than nothing.
if gx470 ,use the one valvoline moly. a lot toyota mechanic said just use that
Great video!
Are the steps same for LX570?
Yes it would be the same thing for a 200 series/LX570
How many grease points on the 2017 4Runner (full time 4x4)?
It would be the same as this since the GX is also full time 4X4
