    Works great if you pay attention to instructions. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.

    Omg, easy and yummy! Thank you! Just a note that my rice cooker is a small one for 3 cups of rice. I cooked this twice at 40 min. The cake puffed all the way to the top lol. Fun!

    I will definitely try it ! Looks so good .
    But just one thing , please don't use the metal utensils in the rice cooker. That's will scratch the coating which is not good for the health . You should be able to order the inner pan at manufactory company .
    Good luck !

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. My start to scratch when I cook meat and other food in it. I stop but it continues to lift the coating. I do need to stop 😁

    • @Kitty-kn7nc
      @Kitty-kn7nc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear you . I know the coating parts are always pain in the b•t . Mine is just touched the vinegar rice and since then ,not be able to keep the rice long time any more . Easy to spoil them. Oh my. Anyway , to avoid to the scratch , also good idea to rinse the rice in another bowl , then put into the rice cooker as well . Good luck 😊

    • @marsheemallowz8622
      @marsheemallowz8622 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. The bottom of rice cooker is already beaten up with scratches.😂 I suggest to mix the ingredients on separate bowl before putting it on the rice cooker or use a silicone whisk to prevent scratches.

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. 😄 I wanted to show people didn't need separate stove or microwave to melt the chocolate... a one pan thing. I did this only 2 times and no more. Buying a new inner pot but not from the same brand. So I hope it will fit the rice cooker. It still works. I just don't want to toss it and get another one.... but I might need to 😉

      Hi Juliet! That's great that the banana bread came out good! I'm happy you are going to try other recipes 😁 This sponge cake is difficult to make, in general, so I can't wait to see your out come! A few things, I learn after making this... all your mixing bowls and mixer should not have any oil residue, your egg whites should not have any egg yolk and do not oil your baking oan or rice cooker. Also, not to overmix...use spatula and just fold and turn until incorporated... All these will help ensure your cake will rise high and spongy! 😉 You can do it 👍🏼 And stay safe. We are not quarantined but we still choose to stay inside to avoid catching the virus. I need to get baking! 🍰 God bless

    Hi, the time of baking use rice cooker is a important? My rice cooker will turn on warm after 10 mins. So can I continue to start press button ? Or jus set a timing 30 mins for every cook cycle ?

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chen. If your rice cooker stay on cook for 10 min during baking, let it stay on warm for 20 minutes before you press cook again. If you press cook right away and your cooker stays on cook? That's too much hot heat and the bottom of your cake will burn but the rest of the cake may not be done. Most rice cooker will not stay on cook when you press the button right away. It has heat sensors to prevent over heating. But if yours does, still allow your cake to sit in warm status for 20 min. So 10 min on COOK, 20 min on WARM for total of 30 min. I hope that make sense... Best wishes for some great cakes! Get baking!

    • @chenyookwan3296
      @chenyookwan3296 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My rice cooker is 3.5 cup only so the time of baking can be shorter? Let say just stay for 20mins in total of 10 min during baking & 10 min for warm stage . The time of cook will affect the cake result ?

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chenyookwan3296 you can try it out. Mine will not go into cook until after 20 min. The amount of time to cook depends on your rice cooker. If you use my recipes, you may need to cook longer because your rice cooker is smaller than mine. Just try it. The time are my experience. If you get great cake in shorter time? Go for it.

    • @chenyookwan3296

    if rice cooker gt baking cake function which it takes 50mins,how should i do?

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Pei. I'm sorry but I do not have a rice cooker with that function to test with. You can see if your rice cooker maker have any recommendations. Or my guess...only for sponge cakes... if you can change the time for bake, use 30 min. Then let it sit in WARM for 30 min. Now check it. If still not done, do 15 min bake and 30 min warm. This cake is normally bake at a lower temperature with a bath water. So, allowing the time to sit in WARM will keep the heat down and keep the cake moist without drying. I hope that helps. Please do let me know if you try it baking this cake and for how long. Best wishes for a great cake!

      You can double or triple all the ingredients for larger cakes to bake in larger pans and big ovens. I cannot test it because I do not have any way of baking them in large size. This recipe was almost to the top of my rice cooker. Also, if you have never baked this "sponge cake" or "chiffon cakes" or "jiggly cake", please make sure you watch more TH-cam videos from others on this type of cake before starting. This cake is a very finicky and any mistakes could ruin your cake. Everything from the whipped egg whites, to mixing just right to baking at a certain temperature is very critical. I tried to make this simple and I'm still not good at this cake 😄 Best of luck! Please let me know how it turns out for you.

    Oh boy, please use only a whisk lined with silicone or a plastic or wooden whisk. Using a metal whisk in your rice bowl will scratch its surface. Once the protecting lining on it is scratched, the bowl is unsafe to use - aluminium coming in contact with food is a very bad news, because of heavy metal exposure. A new bowl cost half of or a full price of a new rice cooker.

    When you say fine sugar, do you mean castor sugar or actually icing sugar? My egg white unfortunately did not turn out well

    • @ricecookerbaking
      @ricecookerbaking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry to hear your egg whites didn't turn out. Fine sugar is caster sugar. But icing sugar would have been fine too. If your egg white didn't whip up, there are a few things to watch out for. First, make sure the eggs are at room temperature. Second make sure there's no oil residues on your bowl or beater whisk attachments, even whatever you use to separate your eggs as well. I didn't learn these until quite a few cake mistakes after this cake 😆 So, check out my other sponge or Chiffon cake videos before trying again. I reinforced these tips. Don't give up. These cakes are pretty hard to get correct the first few times.
      I'll add these updates into the written recipe below the videos.

      Hi Anne. These sponge cakes are finicky to make in general... Everything is dependent on the egg whites, from whipping just right to stiff peak to mixing it into the batter. Over whipped, under whipped, over mix, under mix ... all will end in a failed cake. I'm still not good at them so don't feel bad. Just keep trying. And no, it does not need baking soda. Soft wheat (white wheat) is good for cakes, pastry and such. Hard wheat is good for bread and bagels. They can also be finely milled or stone grind for a gritty texture. For this cake, use pastry flour or finely milled white flour. I used all purpose flour (plain flour).
