    It’s so great to see black women enjoying and celebrating our hair. Started my natural hair journey last year. I am now fully natural with absolutely no regrets. I am loving my natural hair. Went natural 20 years ago for 8 years but couldn’t maintain it. Back then there weren’t so many videos on black hair care. I appreciate these videos so very much.

    I’m so happy I found your channel. When I detangle my hair, I always noticed that when I finger detangle it, I don’t need to go further and use a comb/detangle brush. But I still ended up using a detangler brush because my sister use to tell me that’s how to do it. I now noticed that we have different hair types so what works for her, will not work for me. Thank you as well for explaining the porosity. I’m 4c low porosity. 😊

    Beautiful, beautiful woman and gorgeous, gorgeous hair! I have high porosity hair and know how to care for it but I couldn’t figure out why the same products weren’t working for my daughter’s hair until I figured out she has low porosity hair! Now, I only use products without protein and focus on moisture and wash her hair with a gentle shampoo to lift the cuticle. To moisturize her hair, I use the LGCO method to twist and style her hair: liquid, gel, cream, oil. I use water, Kinky Curly Custard, my homemade creamy protein free leave-in, and organic palm oil. Her hair stays moisturized until the next wash day. Thank you for sharing what works for you: your twists are so juicy and healthy 🤩🤩🤩!

    Great video. Loved the way you explained porosity and finally I realize I'm a low porosity. Can Iask that you do a full week video showing us what and how you take care of your hair? My hair is extremely dry and coarse. I now apply store bought aloe vera juice and add a few oils etc which assist in keeping it moisture. However, it seems I have to do this everyday, which is time consuming. I would also appreciate a video of how you deal with those single strand knots.

    • @tshidiradebe
      @tshidiradebe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Now these are responses I live for 🥺. Thank you MP, I will upload a video next week, showing y’all how I take care of my hair during the week, how I moisturize midweek etc...
      When coming to dryness: I suggest that use products that are water based, also, how are you moisturizing your hair? Are you using the loc or LCO or loco method? If your hair is extremely dry I think we need to look at how often do you deep condition and are you using a moisturizing deep conditioner?
      Also, I think you could invest in either a very hydrating shampoo or just move to co- washing.
      And Lastly, I think getting a hand held steamer could really work for you 🤔
      And I will also work on a video that shows how I deal with still strand knots, thank you for two video suggestions ♥️

    • @tshidiradebe
      @tshidiradebe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Lmao lol 😂 it’s okay, some people are better off not knowing which porosity they are because once they know, they start doing too much so it’s okay. Did you find out if you are low porosity or high? Fun fact: if you have 4c hair, the likelihood of you being Low porosity is high because most people naturally have low porosity hair. At sometimes, high porosity is due to using too much heat on your hair etc, then it changes from low to high 💁🏽‍♀️. I hope this makes sense😊

    • @tshidiradebe

      No I don’t really use heat during my wash days however i agree with naturals that use steam as a form of ‘ heat during wash day.

Deep conditioner : it will be the Afrobotanics deep conditioning treatment and I’d say the low porosity line from Shea moisture and the Dark and lovely Deep conditioner which I just recently reviewed, I was shocked 😳. • @tshidiradebe
      @tshidiradebe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Awww Shantelle, I am sorry about this.
      I think it’s important not to get overwhelmed by big brands and go back to basics. Think about what you used on your hair growing up.
      Look, even if my hair is low porosity and 4c, that does not mean what I use will work for you, Iv been natural for 4 years and there are products that just do nothing for my hair even though they come highly recommended.
      It’s a journey and it’s important to try products that aren’t recommended once in a while.
      I am not sure if you have tried the Tresemme naturals products, try black soap, try different affordable grease for your hair, oils etc.
      I can’t promise and swear by a product only because our hair won’t react the same. I can only tell you what works for me. However here is what I can swear by : Shea butter, castor oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil, bentonite clay, hair mayo, basically anything that comes from earth, hence why I say try black soap and maybe even make your own homemade conditioner, you will never know what will work unless you try. 😌
      I will also make a homemade conditioner and share with you guys if It did anything for my hair or not.
      I hope this helped. 🙂
