Welcome back Chris, happens sometimes with the algorithm, hopefully you will be back in now you have watched one, we have done loads lately and more on their way. You could also click the notification bell to notify when there is a new one, that is of course if you are that bothered 😂
Hello ant, may I ask your suggestion for the best solution for Heel slippage for a half size too big? Thank you always I'm thinking of a leather liner for the heel, will it work with thin like 0.7mm or thicker 1 mm? Thanks
Just did a pair of boots yesterday that were slipping in the heel. Thin leather lining around the heel cup with suede side out. Worked perfectly 👌 Always try insoles first, but no good in this case...
The positives for a cover sole are that if you wear your leather sole down now, you are in for a full resole for about £100 (more if you send back to Loake, and they would fit like for like heel stacks, not full leather) If you had a cover sole once you wear through it, you then fit a new one for a 1/4 of that, so it saves you money in long run. Every now and then you will need a heel doing as well and you could add rubber at that point as well if you wanted. It also gives more grip than leather. Paul makes a lovely job of it by shaving the first layer of leather so it fits flush, we see a lot where they just put it on with a lip. Also if you walk in a way that wears the toes down first, consider toe plates, you will find videos and shorts about it before.
I find my grenson Chelsea boots in general a bit stiff on the heel when walking - makes them sore by the end of the day. Would a dainite sole help? They have leather at the moment
Dainite is still quite hard but is rubber so probably not quite as much. Paul says sometimes the Grenson are not balanced very well. Send a photo in for him to look at of the shoe from the side, sat on a flat surface and he will give you a quote if he sees anything amiss. You can fill the quote form out on the website.
just done a reset on my tablet and you poped up, not seen a video of yours for a while👍

Ok copy thank you
So I’ve got a pair of loakes with a leather sole…should I be bringing it in for a cover sole? I’ve not used them a great deal.

Could you have put a Dainite or Vibram sole on the shoes ?
Yes any of them, you are going to see Paul fit a commando sole on an M&S shoe next week,he can do (almost) anything.
Wow , take it to another level
