Hey Lester, delighted to hear your positive feedback and we appreciate the constructive criticism - it will help us improve our offering in the future. Thanks a lot for taking the time to test them! Many thanks, Ryan.
They are brilliant value for money Ryan and I said these are better than the previous model! Only small criticisms and I will / have recommended them to several people already.
I have a set of Caley 01T's which I am more than happy with. My only complaint is the set is 4-PW. I'm not great with the 4 iron so its currently retired. I cant believe I'm the only one with this problem. I ended up getting the 3+4 hybrid bundle in the sale, again great clubs but you also need a gap wedge as the PW is 44 deg. 5-GW would be a much better fit for a lot of DTC customers, in my opinion. Cheers
Lester I hate golf club reviews even Dan's.However I loved this why you might have solved the problem. The average golfer wants to see how they perform on a course.Well done the best golf club review I have ever seen
I'm not a great fan of reviews, but after watching a few on you tube, and seriously thinking of changing my irons, (Ping G ) I recently had a fitting and was pleased with the whole fitting experience, especially the difference in length and ball flight achieved by going to graphite shafts, roll on drier weather when I can really see the benefit of some roll on the ball. Keep up the vlogs, always interesting and informative.
Brilliant! I am not really one for club reviews, but this was entertaining and informative, miles better than a load of numbers which aren't relevant to me. Keep up the diverse content and great work.
Options is why I really am leaning towards the sub70's. Here in the states I can get the irons in a senior shaft and for a slight upcharge have a choice of 4 or 5 different shafts.
Whilst not in the market for new clubs, I enjoyed this review. Conversional commentry/ review makes it an easy watch, similar to how we would discuss new clubs/ products with our mates in 'real' life😊.
Thanks Bernie. The Caley do look a decent option for the money. I'd be interested to hear though if you had £500 to spend whether you'd buy the Caley or a second hand set of Callaway Apex Pro (or similar)
I have yet to try hollow-headed irons, but I appreciate the fact that they can be built to look like a blade but be forgiving like a cavity back. There's a new set of great-looking, hollow-headed Adams irons that interest me for their $500 set price. It's great that a few companies, like Caley and Adams, are making new clubs available for golfers on a budget. Of course, now there's Costco expanding their golf products line with golf clubs.
I’ve not seen the Adams version yet. As the price of premium brands continue to increase there’s definitely a place in the market for a decent set of irons at this sort of price.
Excellent and very fair review. I bought these and really like them . Just one point if you buy the set and only use the 7 iron you can send them back for a refund. Playing them on course for a review seems better than banging them on a tracer.
Love the totally honest review. They have problems. Shaft no carbon , Grip problems, wear marks. I remember the pinseeker woods in the day. On the driving range shop pro came up and asked for a go. No practice swing smashed it down the middle. You can hit anything with the right technique.
This model of urethane filled cavity back iron has a lot variations currently. I bought the RAM FX77 stiff graphite ( on offer at the time for £290), there is zero difference with my Apex CF16 irons Flight spin, etc. Grips I use jumbo grips anyway, any sent grip is coming off anyway. Caley, Tokomo, Kirkland, Sub 70, there is another 5-6 variants I have seen. I can't justify £1,200 on irons. I have flyers with Apeks irons too so zero difference ( 8i Sunday went 180 yards carry when my stock shot is 145 yards).
Agree with all you’ve said mate. I had a bad experience with Ram when I tried ordering a set (to review), they cancelled my order after 2 weeks, even though they said they were being built! I think it’s because I had a 25% discount! Caley seem to have the customer support/ service spot on!
Excellent review Lester - the cost of these irons represents very good value for money & hopefully your reviews raises their profile and encourages more people to try them out
Always appreciate your honesty Lester! Clubs look very nice and certainly good value! DTC companies are making some wonderful clubs and being able to get them for a reasonable price appeals to a large portion of golfers I’m sure!
Thanks Tyler! I think these DTC companies have a place in the market and if the top brands continue to increase prices then it will benefit them further!
@@berniebarnesgolf Absolutely! Also forgot to mention the 7 iron idea. I agree. Let me try just the 7 at a lower price, and if I like it I’ll order the set. Ordering the whole set, trying just the 7, then sending back the whole set if you don’t like it is a bit much for many people to deal with.
Agree Tyler. I personally would be happy to pay like £29.99 for a demo 7iron to try and keep. It wouldn’t make a loss on it and I’m more likely to order a set as a result. I wouldn’t pay the refundable £500 to try the 7 iron.
Bit late but great review, love that you actually took them on the course. Sadly they don't make left handed yet but I'd definitely consider these as I am getting older and losing a bit of distance.
Better late then never 😂 I would have gamed them for a month or so, like I did with the one length irons, but I borrowed the clubs and had to give them back unfortunately. Pity they don’t do left handed clubs, hopefully in the future they do.

Sub 70 don’t do shoes or waterproofs Martin 😂 I just thought I’d show how you can test clubs out without data as most don’t have access to a launch monitor.
My thoughts exactly Bernie lets see a mid handicapper test them tests should be done by those who they are aimed at. iIs nice to see them hit off the turf and not just mats too. Keep up the good work.
If these type of videos did the numbers (they don’t, but are searchable) I would get everything I review tested by players of different handicaps. Unfortunately they don’t. I’d definitely recommend watching a video of a mid handicapper used them though Kevin.
Hi Lester I have played caley since they were old tom the customer service has always been impeccable. I only moved away because I struggled to stop the ball on the green . I still have the caley irons and I agree about the grips they are thin . Plus side I got my only hio with the 6iron on the 3rd at fingle so I won't sell them lol

Lester very informative, fair and incisive review. Would I as a mid handicap golfer buy them without trying and a full fitting...I doubt it ; but it is good to know what is out there. Another good video
When I want to compare on course or range I take my existing 4,6,8,pw and the new one and hit every shot twice, once with each club. That covers the fact that day to day I don't always swing very well (if ever) and the effect temperature and wind has on ball flight.

They must have added to the website since I did the review Alan! That’s great to hear! They need to sell a demo at a reduced price! Not many people would want to pay £500 out, to be able to try the 7iron out.
I agree Lester. Although £500 is a great price for a new set of clubs, I can't pull the trigger on something I haven't hit. Having previously been fit for my old mizuno jpx 900 , I could go with these specs, but I'm sure my swing has changed in the last 6 years. Good set for a newish golfer though. Enjoying the content, keep up the good work.
One thing Caley could do with offering is a setup like Sub70 or PXG where you can go to their location and hit clubs albeit on a simulator. Seen a lot of their posts in recent months and was interested however got no response to DM so looked elsewhere.

I personally dont like the ping edfect of hollow bodied irons. One thing i was suprised by was the marking on the sole. I have had my srixon fully forged irons for 10 mths and only one of the soles shows any dings from play. I use head covers (unashamedly) but these definitely wilould need them me thinks. @@berniebarnesgolf i thought so too, placed an order, and got an email from fedex saying that they are waiting to ship them from hong kong. Im only in Glasgow so thought it would be fast, maybe not then.
Maybe they get the components from Hong Kong!? I’m really not sure.
@@berniebarnesgolf must do mate, dont think they hold stock here, i emailed caley, and they got back to me saying that i should have them by the end of the week 🤞 i was wanting to try them on sunday
Did you order the clubs mate?
Looking forward to this..... hand me downs?
No took them from Dans office 😂
I know you said about the personal touch, ive dm’d them about 5 times and never once had a reply😂
Really Stewart!? I am surprised.
@@berniebarnesgolf unfortunetly so, im from scotland where they are based and have tried to contact them a few times trying to find out if they will start doing fitting sessions or if there is a way to try the clubs first but no contact back at all so just gave up now will probably just go with someone else now
That’s a really pity.
Nice honest review Bernie
Thanks Colin!
@@berniebarnesgolf honestly. It’s good stuff
They remind me of the lynx v1’s
Yes they do a little Mark! Hadn’t thought that until you mentioned it!
See if there's any tapes under them please heard they forget this a lot 🤯🤯🤣🤣
Couldn’t find any Pete 😂

Sort your bloody sound on the course out.
What’s wrong with the sound!? I’m using proper mics now. I’ve listened to it on a tele and mobile and the sound quality is good!
Piece of junk clubs.
I’m guessing you’ve tried them out!?
Great review Bernie.
Appreciate that Richard!
