Making an epoxy resin food server. Glitter fail.

  • Hi everyone, this video is not a how to video as much as a how not to do it. I messed up with the glitter and don't like how it looks now. The mould I used is great and I like how the handle came out a lot. I made it in 2 layers and used a deeep turquoise for the bottom, which I also like. The big fail is because of the silver and gold glitter. i poured them in random lines into clear resin. I wish I had run a stick through and broken up the lines, the effect would have been much better. So here it is, hope you can still learn something from my mistake. I do want to add that this is strictly a food server, it should not be used as a cutting board as tiny peices of resin would get scraped off and into the food. It's also important to use a food safe grade of resin for this project.

    Epideco pro cast max epoxy resin- Bought online from epideco.co.uk
    Silicone food serving tray mould- Bought from Ebay
    151 Glitter for paint in silver and gold- From Poundland
    Metallic beads in silver and gold- From The Works in the craft section
    Liquitex professional acrylic ink in deep turquoise- From Ebay
    Safety note.
    Please always wear gloves and a mask when working with liquid resin.

    How much epoxy resin did it take all together?

      Soory but I didn't take note of how much resin I used. I would guess about 5-6oz. .
