Hello the ever creative Nicole. You are ever so generous sharing your very clever dyed paper technique As always you create wonderful videos take care and by the way you are a cool youtuber
What a great idea for the color coffee died bright colored paper. Amazing I have tried about every kind of paper except colored paper to get grungy bright colored paper. Great ideas.
God, I feel so Stupid right now! 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣💀 Already colored paper! WtH?! 🤣 Girl, I've been killing myself trying to get a decent Purple paper! All I get is freaking Cotton Candy color! THANK YOU! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💜 I lost it when you told cousin Eddie not to empty his shitter! Priceless!
9x6 is a fabulous size. Even though I love all things “mini.” I did do a mini using Somerset magazine after cutting out all pages and words and well you know!!! It’s 5x5 SO SO FUN
Dang, the secret is in the sauce on color paper! Kicked myself in the rear. ... Might be cool to layer up some coffee filters randomly in there too. If you're gonna make a mess, might as well go big! TYFS!
Thank you, Nicole!!!! 💖 much easier to make than i feared. Lol. I always soak my papers too long also. Whenever i pile mine on top of each other they stuck together so i usually soak them just one at a time. Very time consuming. 😒 thank you so much for sharing. The papers turn out beautifully. 🙂🤩
I was going to comment this too. The sound and feel of oven dried dyed paper is great. If you said this to a non crafter you would definitely get a funny look! 😀
This is a great tutorial, I love your ideas. I think I must have watched this when it first came out but just came back to it and made a journal cover using a file folder. So happy with it, thank you ❤
I just enjoy watching & listening to u. Educational & entertaining. Omg! How simple to do the paper. But I dry mine outside; it's usually in the upper 90's...just as hot as the oven. Thank u for being u! 😊
A wonderful, jam packed tutorial! Thank you, Nicole! I love each of the three tutorials as I've only ever done the coffee dyed paper, as well as metal rusted paper, but never thought to use my pack of colored AstroBrights papers for that purpose. A MOST EXCELLENT idea! TFS!
I knew exactly what you meant when you referenced Uncle Eddie. I love that movie! This video was awesome! Your work is beautiful and you make me smile. Thank you 😊
Oh Nicole, you crack me up! As a fellow fibro foggy I get it. But I’m dying to know that word you won’t say! And I can’t wait to try dying the colored paper and making a glue book like this.
Yay! I'm so glad you liked the video, thank you so much for watching!! The word I used to say was "Taut" but sometimes I would add an "N" in it by accident. The grammar police ALWAYS correct me🚓🚨 Fibro fog sucks!
This was wonderful!! OMG I ordered the colored paper and will be coffee dying asap. I want to make a Fall journal and this is perfect. Loved how you used a folder to make the book. I do need to figure out what kind of thread you sew your signatures in with. The vintage tape...genius. Girl your sense of humor is fab and I understand fibro brain as I have it also. I will be watching more of your videos and hoping to make a journal very soon. TFS!!

@@relaxcutglue thankyou I am feeling much better. I seem to have lost my crafting mojo though, finding it difficult to get back into it. But I'm going go a craft clearance sale tomorrow, maybe I'll buy something and feel inspired. Hope all is good with you.
Oh my goodNESS NICOLE- these will match my fabric I bought for my fall hand made journals. I’m in Florida so I dry outdoors!!! Good advice for dying in oven!! I use tea?? I’ll attempt tea because I have it. If not ~ I’ll grab a cup of hubby’s 🥰
Wow! I just find all your tutorials soooo cool! They way you explain everything is right on point. This journal is amazing! 😍 I just wish you could be my art teacher. Like I would seriously come to your class and leave in confidence that I too could master something good out of your craft class! You know what I mean? Like I remember my art classes in middle school and high school and I didn't want to leave when the bell rang to go to the next boring class. I wish that they had some art classes again. For adults. But with all this Covid mess that won't be happening anytime soon.😕
That would be so fun!! I have done some online classes for charity, and I want to host a craft retreat, hopefully next year. Food, Friends, & lots of crafting!
Nicole Relax.Cut.Glue. Wow! A dream come true!😍🤗 But by the time all this Covid crap is tapered off I'll be 100 years old and then I won't give a crap LOL🤣😂🤣
I love your idea! I have both bright and pastel printer paper, so I'm going to try both. What makes the stripes across the paper? Is that from your oven rack?
I do my papers a way that is easier for me. Maybe my technique could work for you all..? I'm sure someone may have done this too somewhere . I take my big glass or metal baking dish,,put about an inch give or take of hot water. Add the tea bag or generally instant coffee, and or some other colorant. Next, I make a clothesline that ( Conveniently!) I can string from either cupboard handle that flanks each side of my big ol' sink...then grab me a stack of about 25 plastic clothes hangers, a few clothes pins for spacing. Hang them up, and as I dip a page into the bsth, ( I can drape two papers gently overlapping/ placing the paper so they are folded in half like a regular book page would be folded).. Then these can drip in the sink until they stop dripping ( messy, hence the sink area lol) then I move them to a final drying space...In summer when air is dry they dry fadt, humidity much longer unless you put a small fan to circulate the air...or dehumidifier if you have a portable one..make sure to check the overflow so it doesn't leak! In winter, usually works great due to furnace and drier air... Thus, when all dry ( usually a few hours or less,, or longer...I lift the pages off the hangers carefully, but usually they are fine and only get a few small tears if the paper sits to long in the bath... I just dip quickly to coat, let drip in pan then carefully drape it..takes a little practice but you can do it! The idea came from my love of hanging out other wash..I miss doing that! Next year I hope to afford buying one of those umbrella type clotheslines. Ok,, then I lay the papers flat and place a box filled with other goodies to weigh the paper down...Works for me! Absolutely LOVE ?THIS IDEA NICOLE!! I can get the Astrobrights, not to cheap, but I love the effects!! Smart Gal You!!! Thanks alot!!🤗😘🙋

I love your videos and have gotten a lot of inspiration and joy from watching you! If the dye bleeds into the paper nearby it seems like that could be cool. I’m going to try it…thankfully I’m enough of a paper hoarder that I already have the papers!!
Thank you for your wonderful comment! I don’t add white paper in between because I want the bleeding of the paper to go onto the other colored piece to get the effect that I want. But you totally could! Have fun making some cool new papers!!!❤️❤️❤️
Great video, Thanks 😊 Did you get your “ The Lakeside Collection” September. Lots of Xmas on cover. I had to go pull two of my Lakeside Collection out of the trash…after hearing you rave about the magazine in one of your tutorials 😊💕. I never paid much attention to them..

Do you reckon you could get three signatures into a file folder if you didn't use such fluffy paper? (Asking for a friend who is completely clueless, it's embarassing for her)
You can 100% add a third signature in this! Fluffy paper and all. Just make a row of holes down that middle line. Super easy! All questions are ALWAYS welcomed! Emails can always be sent to me if anyone wants to ask a question but is too embarrassed to ask publicly ❤️
@@relaxcutglue yay. Thank you. She will be so excited to know that. She's never used a file folder before, so this will be fun for her. ☺️🤣 edited to add that my friend made the journal with the file folder (she had to use a suspension file folder as she didn't have a regular one on hand and she is in lockdown) and it worked perfectly. She is very happy and thankful. Oh and, I can stop referring to myself in the third person now ;)

And I LOVE how your papers turned out kind of stripy! SO COOL! I want to try making some orange and brown ones for a tiger book now...
I just found your channel, first video!! Wow, love it, your so fun to watch, and I love the voice. Especially since my regular voice sounds just like that all the time, lol. I also love glue books, and yours is a great idea, topsy-turvy, fun stuff!! Super easy to make too!! TFS * L
Hi Leslie!!! I’m so glad you found me!! Welcome❤️ I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
What glue is that?
Art glitter glue, unless she used another glue to refill the bottle.
It’s Art Glitter Glue💖
edited to add that my friend made the journal with the file folder (she had to use a suspension file folder as she didn't have a regular one on hand and she is in lockdown) and it worked perfectly. She is very happy and thankful. Oh and, I can stop referring to myself in the third person now ;)
@@em...... Lol!
Shitter’s full!
Bake? 😳
😅
I’m official obsessed! This was the best thing I’ve seen on YT! I can’t wait to try this next week! TSMFS! Subbed!
