Succulents in my nursery after a lot of rain

  • So, we had some serious rain last week and i thought it would be interesting to show you all how my outdoor succulents have been doing, after copping some 250mm (10in) in just a couple of days.
Although, over the last 3 years we've had much longer lasting rain than this heavy rain can have an impact on some succulents, however, the results may surprise you.
I'm going to show you over a 100 different cultivars of different sizes and identify some of the problems such as edema and fungal disease.
    Hope you'll enjoy.

I’m in Phoenix, AZ USA zone 9B to 10A. I’ve learned so much about taking care of my succulents from you than 90% of the other channels I’ve found. Minus the cold and huge rain falls you get, we’re very similar in heat and my succulents, indoor and out, are doing so much better following your advice. Thank you for your hard work! If it wouldn’t be so hard on the plants and you, I’d be buying my plants from you

Am sorry to hear you have strange and negative pushback. I love your videos and find them very educational even though i'm in a much colder climate further south than you. Really really love your channel!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your kind comment- it is greatly appreciated☺💚 I think the negative comments come with creating content online. My theory- angry people use the anonymity of comment sections to release their uncensored rage, as they know what they say just wouldn't fly in the real world 😂

Some people are just so weird! So shocked when you said some people have accused you of lying! Love your channel ❤🪴

You made me stop being afraid of my succulents. I was scared they would die if I watered them and they're doing better than ever with weekly watering.

I don`t want to discount anyones exp either, but I have to say that I came to your channel because you seem to have the same opinions about many things about succulents than me. My nursery was always really small, but I have made basically the same observations over my soon 20 years of growing succulents as you - despite both of us living literally on opposite sides of the globe and our climate is wildly different.
I wouldn`t bother too much with people accusing you of things, because you make a living with the plants - obviously. No need to prove anything beyond that.

Thank you- i really appreciate your kind words 💚 Yeah, the comment section can get a bit weird sometimes, but i guess it can be good to address as a lot of it comes from fear or poor advice. And, hopefully it may help someone out there 🤞
Would love to see some of the plants to grow- do you have a website or a channel? 🌵

@@SucculentGrowingTips Uh, I can upload some of my plants to the account I am using right now. Just have to wait for the next rain, it`s spring and the plants that I did not pull apart for propagation are covered in pollen... By the way, does that also happen to you down there?
Also, as said, it`s just a few square-meters. You would probably not even call that a nursery. Usually between 1000 to 1500 plants at max. So a website or something would be totally over the top I suppose. :D

@@johannalvarsson9299 that would be great- though don't worry too much if it's a hassle. It would be super interesting to see what grows up your way. Last time i went to Europe (6yrs ago) i only saw Cacti, Haworthia, Semps and a few Sedum 🙂

I hope the sun 🌞 comes out soon 🤞.
It a great accomplishment to look after so many succulents and to attend to their individual needs.
    Congratulations Kat!hats off to you.
The weather is playing up all over thanks to our degradation of the ozone layer with the alarming climatic conditions, heatwaves all due to global warming.
During torrential rains ,switching to a more gritty mix with a faster draining might(I'm no expert you are☺️ )help however; repotting so many Succulents in this weather and instantly is really difficult also with an uncertainty of what the weather man forcasts for tomorrow.
Nevertheless, a stunning collection and thank you for sharing 🙏

Thank you 💚 And yesss, the sun is back out. Currently enjoying a beautiful, mild, sunny day. I wish every day was as nice as this.
You're definitely right, the heavy rain and heatwaves are so challenging and likely to get worse.
Very much agree with the potting mix. On a small scale, it can work well :)

Your succulents look great. I’m in Brisbane with the same amount of rain, and mine didn’t like it at all.
