As per my knowledge in LIC we must keep our money investing for a very long period. But we are Indians so except these expenses we have so many other expenses in a year like festive expense, family and friends expenses, marriage expenses, birthday party expenses, vehicle planning expenses, tour and travel expenses, Diwali, Dusherra, Ganpati puja, Holi and many other festivals. Where our expenses are not pre planed. And we managed those in 20k. If we invest 2k per month in LIC then it is sure that we get the money as per your calculation. But we get the money after a 20 to 25 years later. In this period how can the family manage? Can you explain this briefly?
your question is flawed. if you pay 2000 towards insurance per month and you have to manage all other expenses within 18000, as in this case, you are supposed to take credit or loan to meet all other big expenses. the second thing is, you can always anticipate earning more than your previous income. you won't always be earning 20000 throughout your life. but your insurance premium per month will remain the same. also, many policies provide loans from your sum assured. one more thing, the sum will be paid on the death of the bread earner of the family which will be roughly 10 times or more than the annual expenses. I hope this answers your question.
Insurance is like a tree. Who plant it, may taste its fruit or not but his/her heirs must taste it. If we can expense so much for our dear or near ones(family), surely we can also plant a food tree(Insurance) for them because we all love our families and can do anything for our family.
