I have auto locking hub and they seem to slip a lot and make loud banging sounds while off roading. It has stretched the clip to the axel off a couple causing me to lose 4x4. Would manual locking hubs stop that?? Cheers
If I leave the front hubs unlocked, and put it in 4L, can I still use low range with open front diff? Or do I need to lock the front hubs if I’m going into 4H or 4L? Is it ok to leave them locked, when driving in 2H? Thanks in advance!
Hi there, no mate you have these as they are far more reliable, better fit fuel economy, you can unlock one side of you break a shaft, you can run in low box in 2wd, ist put power to the rear for winch turning, you leave them locked when off roading and just switch between 2 and 4wd - so basically far more advantages than disadvantages
@@vitmods7086 Mate, thanks for your reply! But I still don't understand. In my mind, it goes like this: A normal 4wd vehicle, with a lever on the cabin to connect 2hi, 4hi and 4lo, no front locker. With locking hubs, in theory, I could make it... let's say, 3-wheel drive if need by some reason (By unlocking one of the hubs), is this correct? - But then, let's say that I have both hubs UNlocked and I want to engage 4wd, I would have to engage 4wd on the cabin AND lock the hubs, that would be an extra step, am I right? Also, hub lockers do not work as a diff locker from what I just saw. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply to my comments.
why would anyone CHOOSe that intro music? OMFG 😮
Yes I know, I need to get round to changing that 👍🏻
Initial thumbs-down for intro but changed to thumbs-up for showing the freewheeling mechanism clearly which is what I was looking for. Thanks mate.
Thanks mate - yep it’s on my to do list to change the music !
@@vitmods7086 yah that music was terrifying lol
Dude I love your trooper! I have a rodeo lifter and on 35s! Good to see more Isuzu family!
Hi there, thanks for watching.
Good reliable trucks, they know how to make them last too

I’d take them apart mate and check the splines are all ok in them and on the shafts - also make sure they are all free and not full of mud etc
my car has MLD and it makes clanking noise when engaging
THANK YOU FOR THE INFO. TO BAD I HAD TO TRADE MY SPEAKERS FOR IT. . .
Would it be okay to leave those manual locking hubs LOCKED even if 4wd is not used?

Leaving the hubs unlocked in 4L will give you rear wheel drive in low range. Totally possible to drive like that.
That intro, I think it's either too maxed out or my headphones don't go hig and low enough for it
Yes sorry mate I’ve started to turn it down, thank you for watching though 👍🏻
Noob question : can this sistem be activated/deactivated with a push of a button
Excelente ilustración!
that intro music scared the crap out of me
Didn't see the pads. It's still better to buy them or make and install them. )

Terrible music ,great video !
I don't understand, WHY do you need locking hubs????? From what I've seen, its just an annoying and completly useless extra step to get into 4wd.
