Amazing work as always, considering Rob is such an awesome artist surely I can not be the only one who would like to see him do any album art from the legendary Iron Maiden.

100% agree. The Takumi is amazingly consistent. I'm left handed and i never put the cup on the left side because i use the smaller siphon feed style cups. And, my finger is too close. Nice job

Brilliant work as always Rob, you always go into great detail telling what you have done and why you did it which must be a big help to those that do these pieces and use this brush👌👍

Great video showing great artwork using a Takumi Eclipse side-feed. I recently got one and I love it. I ordered the smaller cup when I got the brush after watching a few videos on this brush, and it's my goto. I have a Creos 771 for detail as I just couldn't afford a Micron and it's a great brush as well. I did replace the main lever with a Micron square lever as I like that lever better than the round one. I have a H&S and did your hack of putting the seal to tighten up the trigger action and it works pretty good now, but my Takumi is just unbeatable. Thanks for the hard work making these videos and showing your artwork. I really enjoy watching you work.

I use Iwata Eclipse Takumi, a very comfortable airbrush, I have a 2ml cup from a grex airbrush that fits and is much more convenient than a standard cup. What I especially like about the takumi is the short front end which gives me extra precision.

Tremendous artwork as usual. I have an HP-CS with a similar needle and nozzle, but I haven't been able to make it paint like you do yet, but I keep trying.

The hp- Cs is a nice brush is that the one with the mac valve on the front 🤔on a 0.3mm

The Eclips HP-CS has a 0.35mm needle and nozzle, it is a top cup predecessor of the Eclips Takuami. It doesn't have a MAC valve. It is a very highly used brush in the US.

That piece turned out great Buddy. I have the Eclipse Tacumi too and it’s a brush I really like using. They market the eclipse as versatile, and you can’t argue with it. It is such a capable range of brushes. Love em.

Interesting subject matter, Samurai. John Belushi just popped into mind. Think I will attempt a series of portraits along those lines. Saving Euros for a new Infinity though. An Iwata is in my future some time down the road. Nice job. Thx.

Super nice again. Regarding cups, I have some where the lid falls off too easily (so do you) and vice versa. These takumi lids seem to fit just right and are made exactly to my liking.
Why, I wonder, in general, are most airbrushes fitted with unnecessary decorative details everywhere, which have no function and which make cleaning more difficult? (the machined rings on lids, for example, h&s also make perfect lids)
One wish I could think of is a test of a varied amount of airbrush with the color white, on a black background, fine detail, to see how the larger pigments flow through the nozzles. We all know it is the most difficult of all colors.

I loved watching this video and loved the subject (the Samurai). Thanks for sharing your experience with the Eclipse Takumi. I'm on the fence between the Eclipse Takumi and the Custom Micron Takumi. My only issue is the paint. I use Createx and Wicked textile paints. My Omni 4000 can handle the paint but I'm looking for an upgrade in brushes and want to try the side feed brush. I'm also trying to get more details. Would you recommend the Eclipse Takumi or the Micron Takumi? 👍

    • @dredfxcustompaint

The eclipse takumi is nice and can get really good details down if you thin your plaint right plus is alot cheaper

My first airbrush was a badger side fed.. all my mates told me I had a crap airbrush so I got rid of it.. that was years ago but I really want to get a good one again and have been torn between a badger renegade spirit, a H&S Side feed.. (Yep they do one) and the old Iwata custom side feed.. but If I got the Takumi the H&S small cup idea would swing it .. or maybe I could just try and buy a H&S side feed body and swap all the parts from my other H&S onto it.. Decisions .. Decisions BTW .. thats a great picture

I really love your artwork. You make it look easy and accessible.
Quick question: if you were allowed to only work with either opaque paints are transparent paints (in the style you are painting in the video), which would you prefer and why?

    • @dredfxcustompaint
      @dredfxcustompaint 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi I find transparent painting alot easier with createx illustration as you can erase the paint and work it to how you want

Have said airbrush and left h n s for it . But i may go back with new 2024 h n s models. But the takumi is super smooth, great trigger and is easier to see close up painting. Imo

Beautiful how these Eclipses perform in skilled hands. That Takumi looks awesome. By the way, how is your Ultra '24 holding up? Mine developed some nasty markings on the body beneath the limiter. Switching to II or III feels also really nasty, tight and scratching on the chrome. Puts a tear to my eyes

It's strange that the takumi come with such a large cup. The takumi small cup is perfect though. I think they run around 50 dollars, so very expensive for just a small side cup. But they are very nice.
