You got it right Nick, it is K'no'k, think a Viking storming a hill, how would they say it? K'NO'K! I will add a note though: the tether for the slider is to ensure you don't lose your slider, not to hang the Vecto, as it will break since it is made from TPU and not meant to hold weight.
Ahhh good to know about the tether! Thanks for that. So having my little velcro piece there came in handy. Thanks for making such an awesome product! Will always say K'NOCK from here on out!!
I just found your channel and I'm enjoying your content and presentation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and adventures. I'll definitely keep watching!
I have the same system, except for the blue coupler. I’ve been squeezing it into the bottle. Definitely trying this! BTW, I just finished your film. Fantastic. I’m starting in March. I’d been feeling a little bit nervous and you helped renew my excitement. Thank you! 👍
So happy for you!! You’re gonna have an unbelievable experience, can’t wait. Really appreciate you watching Pack & Soul! Let me know if you need anything at all :-)
@@PackAndSoul It is a great trail for mountain vistas. Very well maintained too, and good resupply options. @outsidecomfortzone has great videos chock full of thru-hiking tips.
Thanks for the video. As you know I use Sawyer and CNOC - mine is 2 liter, but I can filter and fill my water bottle for the 3rd liter, just won't be as streamlined as you. That tip about backflushing after filtering is brilliant. It is so obvious, and bet it saves the Sawyer's filter life Thanks again.
I use to use the Sawyer Squeeze and then switched to the Katadyn BeFree filtering system. Using the Hydra Pack Seeker in junction with it I can have safe , filtered , water a lot quicker. The Hydra Pack Seeker comes in 2 to 10 liter sizes. Not sure if it's the best or worse just that it's better for me & I'm happy with it. I hike and use it on the Florida Trail.
That sounds like an awesome system. The BeFree products seem to be getting more and more popular, for good reason. Been dying to do the Florida Trail. Have you ever thru-hiked it??
@@PackAndSoul ... Never got to do all of it. Being retired I like to do sections and I go slow so I can enjoy being out there. I like the central part of the trail , been playing , on it ( late 50's & early 60's ) before it became the Florida Trail. I really don't have any desire to do the lower parts. For the most part it's open walking ( sun and heat ) especially around Lake Okeechobee and all of the water control areas. Getting restricted at 79 as a heart patient & lower back problems. If you do it , start south and go north in the winter. The cool weather should stay with you and the sun is at your back.
@@Oldsparkey sounds like you’re really enjoying retirement! Nice and slow is definitely the way to go. I’m from South Florida (Hollywood) so it’s been on my mind for a long time. Hopefully make it happen soon. Appreciate the comment!
Hi - thanks for the great vids, hope you keep making more. Followed your advice re: stair climber workouts - still feels super ridiculous being on display 2 feet higher than everyone in the gym with the flop sweat suffer at full blast - but it's crazy effective exercise prep 👍💪. And thanks for this great demo for the CNOC - I bought this exact setup today (already had the Sawyer) - and Sawyer is now selling the blue connector. This CNOC setup is terrific. Like you, I always haul extra water at the end of the day so I can defunk myself, clean gear, and have plenty for in the morning so I can take right off. And I prefer to do fewer water stops. Plus having a lil extra water to share is nice. The gravity filter is clutch, makes it too easy. The CNOC will let me keep a strict separation between containers for dirty water and filtered water. Plus the CNOC's hard plastic closure can be clipped to hang in my pack where a normal water bladder sleeve would be in other packs. I was able to find someone to care for my dog for 5 months (pricey, but Zboy is worth every cent); March 2 I'm jumping on a plane for GA. You, Homemade Wanderlust (Dixie), Justin Outdoors and other TH-camrs sharing reviews, insights, blunders, and know-how have helped me dream-n-scheme for a year+ about how to make this happen (still hasn't sunk in yet that it is happening - no worries, it'll hit when I "give notice"/resign from my job next week). The "money/budget" video is a serious (but still fun) reality-check I think every thru hiker should watch. Really appreciate your channel's solid content and good vibes - be blessed, Nick!
This is a wonderful message, thank you for sending it! I'm so pumped for your journey, enjoy every step... especially the hard ones. The boring, mundane moments are the ones you'll miss the most. Keep us all posted!
Love all the tips. I was backpacking only once and I had struggled with a different brand. What’s the volume/ capacity of this filter? Do you need to purchase couple for a few days of hiking?
I’ve had this particular one for 3+ years and it’s still in tiptop shape. Suppose to be good for 100,000 gallons. I’d say I’ll have this one for quite a while longer
Do you end up having dirty water left in the CNOC bag when you resume hiking? If so, do you have it on the outside of your pack or inside an exterior pouch? Thank you!
There’s usually a bit of dirt in the cnoc but I always dump all the water I don’t use out. (Though I try to filter it all and chug, even if I don’t need it lol). I store it in a baggy with my Sawyer squeeze in the front of my Osprey atmos in the mesh pocket - so if it’s wet, it doesn’t get everything else wet. That make sense?
@PackAndSoul Very much; thanks. Other videos seem to indicate that people hike with a liter of dirty water waiting to get filtered. That didn't seem wise to me, because of the weight and the potential for spills, etc. I've really benefited from your videos. I purchased a Sawyer Squeeze system and the CNOC bag today. Thanks a lot for sharing so much from your experiences with us!
@@matthansen5337 Maybe if there’s a super long water carry without any water source coming up, I can see that being another place to store some water. I know on dry years on the PCT, there can be a 30-40 mile water carry in the desert. Appreciate your support! I’ve learned so much from other hikers, so just trying to do the same and share it back with the community :-)
I love how easy it is to actually get fresh clean water. Keeping hydrated is always important, especially on the trail.😊
Exactly! They’ve made it very easy for us to purify :-)
Great video as usual Nick!!
ממש לא ציפיתי לשמוע ממך עברית, איזה הפתעה!
חח כן, כדאי לי לעשות וידאו רק בעברית? מה אתה חושב?
I've purchased this system and it's working great! Thanks so much. Sharing this video with friends.
Happy to hear that! Thanks for the comment

Watched this again now. Great
Thanks!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Appreciate that bud! Go gators!
The Platypus Quick Draw is amazing. Fast. Backflushable. Can open to check the integrity of the filter. Small. Lightweight. Easy to use.
Awesome! Have to try that one out, thanks for the rec!

I agree the Sawyer bags are trash, but love the Squeeze. I have a very similar set up.
Very similar indeed!
the be free has been great for me. don't think I'd switch to anything else. but this does look super convenient. great work again hollywood
Actually really want to try the Be Free again soon. People seem to love it!
Perfect timing. I just bought the sawyer squeeze and was playing with all of the components at home, this is a much more direct and easy way to do it!
Oh nice! Yeah, perfect timing indeed. Hope it works out for you!
Sounds cool to me❣️😎
Glad to learn about the bag❣️👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Hollywood❣️🥰
Thanks for the comment! The bag is amazing
I’ve used the exact same system on my Colorado Trail and Collegiate Loop thru-hikes. Love it. The CNOC bag is great.
Heck yeah! How was the Colorado trail?? Everyone absolutely loves it, high on my list!

Awesome video. Have you ever come across water that just seemed too dirty to filter?
No too dirty to in that theirs bacteria remains in there, but sometimes the dirty taste / color of the water remains a bit.
N I C E - Now I'm wondering how many liters is the Squeeze rated for? (Even if you back flush it, etc. ???)
Sawyer squeeze claims to be good for 100,000 gallons lifetime. Think I might be getting close ;-)
