lul, that video is so dumb.
Marseille is apparently top of the list now in Europe with a "crime rate" of 65.2, and worldwide just below Chicago at 66.3.
So Marseille has a grand total of 52 homicides by fire arms in 2023, which would make a total of 162 for a population equivalent to that of Chicago, which has a total of 617 homicides by fire arms in 2023 and above 2400 "shootings", while marseille had 118 injured by fire arms in 2023. I'm assuming Chicago has a very low number of pickpockets.
You can easily say that Marseille is to France what Naple is to Italy, having a long history and culture of mafia related crime, nowdays mostly drugs, ever heard of the French Connection, or seen the movies ?
Then Grenoble has lots of graffitis because it has one of the oldest street art festival in France, and apparently that attracts street artists, and other wannabes, and yeah there's a lot of them and most are pretty ugly, now i wonder how much graffitis weigh in that "index"..
Then Grenoble is also a major drug hub in south eastern France, mainly to supply Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Now i really don't know what happened in Nantes which has a very large students population, but we indeed hear about Nantes in the news regarding street safety problems.
Of course that video and the website they used to make it, have Zero source concerning that index.
Well i used google and did some maths so that was fun and please do try to ignore what your hear on youtube about security in Europe, the same way there's almost zero chance you'll get involved in a shooting while visiting the US for a month.
    Cheers.

What a total load of crap. No explanation of how they come to their crime index score. Talking about average age of survival of textile workers three hundred years ago.... Everybody in the UK knows where the sketchiest areas of the country are, and they are all very small estates and aren't located in any of the cities mentioned on this video. Pathetic not relating this to crime in the U.S.

Poor little thing, did someone step on your toes?
They compare European cities with each other, including every city in the world would be stupid. Also i google "Cities with highest crime rate" and found that London (England) is more dangerous than New York (USA).

The idea that Bradford has a higher crime rate than Glasgow is just wrong , the crime index scale was not explained properly. Also Birmingham is not a particularly poor city.

thats wrong. London is already since a long time similar to NY. Same with Paris. Did you sleep? live in the past? its also no rocket science. neither in the US nor in Europe its usually the classic Europeans or Chinese or Indians or Japanese or Vietnamese and so on. Now guess who in the US and in Europe is responsible? do you know at least anything?

About France, the most dangerous cities are the most populated! we can talk about certain districts of Paris, certain Parisian suburbs, the northern district of Marseille, etc... But these are cities to visit, Paris is not France. But Grenoble??? Nantes is a university student city where there is a fairly young and dense nightlife.
In Naples you have to speak Neapolitan better!!! Belarus is a country under dictatorship so we avoid!! Sicily is not Italy, it's SICILY... just my experience as a French person.

Why do USAians give cities new names? Why don't you guys say Napoli instead of Napels? Or Venezia instead of Venis?

It is normal to have different names for cities depending on the language. I live in Aachen, Aken and Aix la Chapelle because we have German, Dutch and French speaking populations in the region. In our local language (Öcher Platt), we call it Oche. Last summer, I made a cycling trip thru Italy and stopped at Trento/Trient, Bolzano/Bozen and Vipiteno/Sterzing. In Germany we don't say Germany and also not Germania, we say Deutschland and we call Napoli Neapel when we travel to Italien🙂. This is all completely normal and there is no reason to complain about it.

@@Ulrich.Bierwisch that's the problem. There should only be one name. Just as your name is Ulrich and not Olga or Ingolf.
Of course you say Deutschland, so do I as it is the name, even though most idiots where I live say Tyskland. But they manage to say München instead of Munich, Wien instead of Vienna and Venezia instead of Venice and so on. It's completely ridiculous and the highway to Idiocracy 💥

    • @Ulrich.Bierwisch
      @Ulrich.Bierwisch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@pigedehekkan There is the problem with deciding what the name actually is. Bozen or Bolzano?
In my region we have Liège/Luik/Lüttich and this are the three official names that are used in Belgium.
Do you have an idea what would happen if Belgium had to chose one name for the country: Belgique or België? Probably they rather would split up.
