I Knew My Man was the One when My terrier who was picky about people got on his lap and promptly fell asleep. 34 Years later He is still a Mush and I Love Him more Now then the day we married.{Oh and we Knew each other 2 Months before he went to the submarine school and then 2 Years in Japan with Only one 2 week visit and Just phone and letters}

I am so so sorry about your loss! It always tears me up to hear of someone bestfriend passing. My brother died two weeks ago and my sweet pup is 13 and I don't know what I'll do when she's gone! She's my support right now so I can only imagine your pain at this sad time!

Agreed. The average lifespan (of most breeds) used to be 16 years old in the 1950's; it's now 8-10. Wtf happened?
@@kimberlyh.1090 I think it's what they feed them now, whenever I mention to my nana that I am going to get dog food she would always ask "at the butchers?" in her generation and times before that we fed dogs a natural diet of mostly meat and fat/ chicken necks or gizzards and things like that. It made me switch to feeding my dog raw meat and it improved his health significantly and made his coat shinier. It is more expensive but definitely worth it!
@@bignut7417 Yup, when I finally get my own dogs (and cats) I'm gonna feed them nothing but raw meat, uncooked bones, and offal (focusing on fiber for the dogs, and taurine for the cats). I think it's also the amount (and how potent) the pesticides are now, vs. how they were then. We put anti-flea and tick medication on the back of their necks that absorbed into their skin, then stored in their lymph nodes, causing inflammation. The Seresto flea collar has been directly linked to 1,700+ pet deaths alone.
And then you have Purebred breeders, who're more willing to meet the coveted 'AKC standard' than they are about also preserving genetic diversity (making sure their puppies aren't inbred for generations). [The Boxer is by far the most affected.] Is it any wonder we're losing them so early?

As a dog lover most people don't realise the bond a man has with a dog. I'm 22 years old in college and honestly my whole life has been miserable and I contemplate suicide on a daily basis . The only reason I'm still around is because of my dog, the only friend I have and the only love I get from another living thing
23 and I know what you mean, I went through a bad wave of depression and got a cat when I finally started looking up. That cat fully saved my life

reminds me of how I felt when my husband surprised me with ferrets. I had wanted them for a while, but it kept getting put off for one reason or another. then one day while I was in class, he found some, and got them, told me he was running late to come to pick me up. and when he showed up the ferrets were in their little carrier in the back seat. the words 'oh my god' and "there's ferrets'" definitely came out of my mouth a few times.

I always want to have a Retriever since I was a child...I never get one but - my husband came in july 2009 with a 7 months old dog from the local shelter...our beloved dog crazy Daisy 😍😍😍😍😍
She was a giant baby girl cause she was a mix of St Bernard and a big munsterlander, a german hunting breed...
We had almost 11 years with that sweet and beautiful and gentle love bug...
She loved life, she loved everybody and everything and she was my shadow, my soulmate and my all...
Sadly she passed away in August 2019 cause of cancer...😭😭😭😭😭
This were the best years in our life... We still miss her so hard and there is not one day we talk about her...
She was so special every single day she was in a good mood and she want to conquer the world...She was always like a little child like hey what are we doing now let's have fun...
She was the best friend I could ever have and she was the greatest gift of all...She was my baby, my soulmate, my shadow always at my side...
We loved her so so much and she had a happy life...
But we are sure that the day will come and we will be together again for all times and nothing can separated us anymore 💝💝💝💝💝

It must be so difficult for these little puppies (or any animal) to be suddenly taken from their home, taken from their mother and most likely from their siblings and taken to a strange home with strange people. Something we don't often think about. Thankfully they adapt quickly to their new home, their new human parents and siblings and hopefully loved and well cared for until their old age when they leave us sad and broken hearted because they've become not a pet but a family member that we've lost. My cat is my queen and I live to serve her every day of her beautiful life.
