Do y'all know that is very special giving puppies for Christmas...did y'all know that two months later more than half are either brought to shelters or abandoned on the streets because shelters are full. Adopt instead of buying. Yes most are full grown, they need you to...and most are housebroken already.
Indeed. Holiday animal gifts are one of the biggest sources of animal abandonment cases. It's the case behind MANY animals that are currently in shelters, and especially so for the average young pet. While contrary to popular belief, there ARE ethical breeders out there that you can acquire puppies/kittens from. That said, it isn't true for the vast majority of baby animals on the market and there are TONS of deserving animals in shelters/rescues that should be given a home before spending money on fueling the overpopulation of strays via the breeding industry.
