    It’s so funny you would post this because I was just searching the internet for protein treatment other then Aphrogee. After hours of researched, I realize that most products that claim to be a protein treatment have very little protein ingredients or none at all. Thank you so much for doing the research for us and posting it.🥰😘

    This is wonderful of you to provide this list. Pure unflavoured gelatine is also an excellent real protein treatment ( for diy people) that pentrates the hair shaft and it works just as well as commercial brands. This is especially great if you are looking for something cost effective. Knox is a popular brand but there are others.
    Ingredients
    1cup hot water
    1 pack of gelatine
    ½-1 tsp of ACV
    ½ tbsp oil (optional)
    This is all you really need however it can be very runny and stiffens (like Aphogee 2 Step protein treatment) so I like to stir in about ¼-½ Cup of moisturizing conditioner.
    SheRea DeSol also has a great recipe 👌🏽

    Thank you for all that you do! I was ready to give up on my hair not too long ago but, after discovering your channel, I finally developed a routine that my hair loves and is *thriving* with. Just had a quick question though: I've been spraying my hair with the glycerine/aloe vera juice mixture and was wondering should I be keeping that in the fridge? It just dawned on me that the juice bottle says to refrigerate after opening lol.

      as type 4 naturals I believe we are mostly high porosity. so that’s what my focus will be. if you have LP hair focus’s on smaller proteins like amino acids, silk proteins etc. I’ll do a video on on products for protein sensitive naturals and LP can use these too🌺

    I've been using Dudley's DRC 28. They don't make it anymore but when I found out they would discontinue it I bought a lot of it. Dudley's has replaced it, but I have not checked to see what the replacement is since I have plenty of protein treatments. Aphrogee 2-step is another one that I have used many times. Hi-Pro-Pac has quite a few protein treatments that I like. The only rinse-out I have ever tried is Mill Creek Botanicals Keratin Repair. Since I shampoo frequently I only use strong protein about every 6 to 8 weeks. In between I generally use bond builders.

    Skala Expert is a Brazilian based (I believe) brand that has A LOT of different conditioners, one of which might be a good protein treatment in my opinion. It's the one with the red container, with the name "Potao do Amor Treatment". It has hydrolyzed rice protein... I think 7th on the ingredient list, and about 5 or 6 other types of hydrolyzed protein further down the list. I believe that one was made for type 4 hair from the little bit of information I actually understand about it. It's marketed as a multi-use conditioner, most Skala products are. If it is as good as it looks, I'll be really happy because it comes in a really big rub.

    I use the aphogee provitamin leave in conditioner which has about 3 proteins. I have the rinse out protein 1 but i only use it every couple months. Whats your thoughts on the leave in protein?

    • @CoilyDiaries
      @CoilyDiaries  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Girl you are trying to get a consultation out of me 😅
      I haven’t used it before
      It’s a protein packed leave in that I would probably use if I had color treated, heat damage or generally just very damaged hair
      The vegetable protein though hydrolysed is a larder hydrolysed protein and is in large amounts being 5 or so on the list
      It also contains a two other protein so my initial thought would be that it will leave my hair feeling tough.
      Might work better for high porosity than low porosity
      Has silicone so maybe suitable for a weekly washer or clarifying natural
      Glycerin is at the bottom of the list so not really keen on that
      Also, maybe using it interchangeably or in combo with a more hydrating or moisturising product
      However, trying the product might change my opinion. It might feel ok on the hair so I always encourage you to be attentive to what your hair is saying about the product.
      Adding glycerin as a base layer might mitigate the possible drying effects

    • @feefee2
      @feefee2 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @CoilyDiaries lol! 2 b honest it doesn't feel "great" or anything 2 me. I just use it as some1 else's recommendation. I may add glycerin. Good idea! I'm a bad girl because I use the blow dryer on wash days so I probably need a lot more protein than others lol.

    • @CoilyDiaries
      @CoilyDiaries  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@feefee2not a bad girl at all!! Enjoy your hair and implement what’s needed to keep it as healthy as possible. If you are high porosity and cleanse atleast twice a month, plus you use heat each wash day, keep using it

      @Neesha242 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CoilyDiariesomg! Thank you for that explanation! I didn’t realize how glycerin is at the bottom. I use this as well. I heat style, but I don’t think it’s that moisturizing. So, I’m going to try Hask coconut oil leave in spray and an oil before blow drying. My deep conditioner has protein high up in the ingredients so I’m good.
