    Cool to see you guys speak about nutrition, especially as a nutritionist myself. Such an essential part of any fitness journey, yet it doesn’t get spoke about as much as training.

    Class content - Shane it doesn’t have tonnes of views because it totally deserves it. But - you’ve inspired me to get back to it and book a 2024 Olympic tri!

    Great ideas only thing I'd add is train your swap overs so from swim to bike then bike to run it's free time if you get good and doesn't require much time or energy to improve.

    Don’t often comment on videos, but for nutrition it’s genuinely easiest to do it through liquids, so say if you are aiming for 75g of carbs an hour and you know that each 500ml bottle lasts 1.5 hours, that will last said distance of that part of the triathlon. Put sugar and then table salt to get the carbs and replace the electrolytes. This way is the easiest to monitor intake of carbs per hour, no faff in opening bars/gels as well as being 10x cheaper than having almost 100g of carbs in bars and gels etc. Edit: would like to add that smart watches haven’t been accurate for VO2, currently it says for me that it is around 46, whereas in reality it will be closer to 70. For context: amateur bike racing for 5 years and can easily do 100km training rides in sub 3 hours and 30 min

    You should get a good bikefit now.
    Cause that will help with your aerodynamic position, how much power you get through and can help preventing injuries.

    Hey Man, I think its all about breathing as I think I recently discovered. I really want to learn to swim and feel confident. What is your advice on alternating strokes when breathing on both sides. I think I discovered I could do much much better if I breath on only one side. I tend to get real tired if I go on both sides and can only last like 200 meters. Is it ok to just pick your favorite side to breath out of? Much appreciated. Thanks

    I want to sign up to a 70.3 that's 10 weeks from now. I know i can do the swim and run, because there are no cutoff times, but I'm worried about the bike. Since there's no cutoff times, is it realistic I finish the 90km bike?? (I'm an OK cyclist- on a casual training session I've done 30kms) been biking for a few months. (Running for 16 yrs)

    I am a competative swimmer and his stroke is bad

    • @itarry4
      @itarry4 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say more the average for non pro triathletes than bad. It's obvious it's not a sport he's done since young muscle memory is such a huge deal with swimming, especially for people swimming distance but yhea there's definitely plenty of scope to improve. He's not really going to from videos he needs to find someone who really understands the sport to help him to watch videos of his stroke and give him pointers of the changes he needs to make.
