    That dresser is called a Chifferobe. That looked Art Deco period, they are stunning pieces but were very useful as most homes didn't have closets ( yikes). Thanks Jeffery for taking us along.

    Good Monday Afternoon Nifty Jeffrey...I just wanted to Give You a Compliment for really taking the time to explain the "cloisonne" process. Even though I already know this I REALLY Appreciate Your Calm Thoughtful Voice when explaining most everything but this particular explanation was done Very Nicely with Great Calm Confidence. That dresser was really unusual and would have looked great in one of your bedrooms. It didn't look to me like any of the legs were missing, but the piece of wood that went across the bottom was broken and part of it was missing. That would have probably been an easy fix since nobody looks that closely at the bottom, or the broken piece could have just been removed and it would have just been an open space across the bottom which would not look bad.

    • @dianajemison105
      @dianajemison105 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The broken piece may have been in one of the drawers.

    • @aprilfool8329
      @aprilfool8329 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dianajemison105 That thought crossed my mind too. It is not unusual to find missing pieces, hardware, handles, etc. stored in drawers for safe keeping until the piece gets repaired.

    The small circle pin you looked at just after you picked up the pink rhinestone bracelet looked to be made with scarab beetle stones. It fits right in with your curiosity of Egytian things. The Scarab Beetle signifies the Circle of Life. It should have 7 stones.

    Speaking of Bitossi. I found a lion sculpture by Aldo Londi in a thrift store for 3.98 and just sold it last week for 130! I’m new at reselling and that was my biggest find so far. This is horribly addictive though.. omg. Lol I’m glad I found your channel among others to learn about different collectibles and things to look for. I found a beautiful Rueven glass turtle the other day and wouldn’t have thought anything of it unless I heard you talk abt Rueven. (Have you seen them before? I can’t find any info on him and not sure how to price). Anyway, I appreciate the info you give as you shop!

    I go the first day for missed deals and rare items and then the last day first thing to get things that I like but don’t want to pay their full asking price for. Also some estate sales will mark their items with an “x” on the tag to indicate something is wrong with it to lessen the chance for upset customers.

    My mother and GM always referred to those dressers as a "Bachelor's chest". The dropped section is, much like the lady's dressing table, for his jewelry and primping products. However, much like urinal v toilet, he has to stand while she sits. They were weird. 🙄

    That fabulous dresser with the missing front decorative piece may have had the missing piece in one of the drawers. If not, it could have been easily repaired considering your tool skills. You're putting a whole house together. Surely you wouldn't let a decorative piece make it a NO. That is, if you were really interested and needed a dresser.
