      I re-watched their pre-order gameplay trailer of 2020 and it's kind of sad. There's many games I'd like to play and never came out, in particular the Mike Mika games (Cloudy Mountain and Night Stalker remakes), Breakout, that dolphin game made by the Ecco guys, even Skiing, to name a few. Many honest and good devs were left in the cold when the company took a bad turn. I hope they can actually manage to release these games somehow because some were almost complete.

    All Tommy and Co needed to do was release an HD, modern tech, plug-n-play Intellivision mini with all the top games and some exciting new ones, but hubris and incompetence was all they were capable of achieving, which quickly morphed this ill-conceived project into a full-blown scam.

      Slandering the company name isn't helping anyone. Amico isn't a scam. That idea comes from TH-camrs making clickbait.

      @@LelandReview No, it became a scam when they lied about how far along they were in order to secure more investment. Every subsequent lie about how close they were to release only for the can to be kicked down the road only made that worse. I have no doubt they set out to make the console, it wasn't started as a scam, but it became one through their sheer incompetence.

    Over a week has passed since the released of the Amico Home apps and the buzz has been quite low. The fact that the controller app have less of a half downloads compared with the main app tells everything.

    This is the result of the failure of management. In project management, the scope of work, and the agreement with the designer must all be crystal clear, and communication between one another must be clear. If they followed these principles, this would have never happened. Scope of work, fit for the jobs based on experience were all obviously unclear, communication between departments were very unclear, thus resulting in devastating consequences. After taking a class in project management, there aren't any guesses as to why they failed. Managing projects is a big deal, and such miscommunications are the costliest mistakes any company can make...

      @dennett316 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need another phone or tablet to install the Home app, then the controller app on another phone. They either didn't have the talent to port it properly, or were too lazy, so this was the sloppy solution they came up with to try to claw a few more dollars from people. Don't fall for it. If you pre-ordered, get your refund and don't claim these games. If you didn't, and still want to try these games, they're available on PC and Switch ( I believe). Search for their names to find a list of availability. Amico Home is a dead end not worth investing into.

    The "Intellivision" brand has so much negative baggage from the Amico/T.T. dumpster fire that I don't think anyone is willing to take the risk. The hole is so deep it's gonna take so much time, energy, resources, and money to dig it out and repair all the damage. Another great video NSG. I downloaded the Amico Home app on my phone for just the curiosity and I never planned on buying anything through the app. Imagine my surprise when, shockingly, the app boots up and I am immediately stopped at the home page by a pop-up telling me that I can't continue forward unless I have the controller app loaded onto another phone or tablet. I feel so much rage and confusion because this is the failure of Intellivison and the Amico all wrapped up in one incredibly stupid idea that has some of the worst user friendliness in any technological system in the past two decades. How do you screw up one of the most basic ideas of creating a phone app? This is worse than Ubisoft managing to screw up Tetris. At least Tetris has so many versions to choose from and even programming friendly to those who want try their hands at it.
    Sorry for the rant there but Intellivision is dead. I can't believe I'm saying this but Intellivision should sell all remaining properties to Neo Atari.

    I totally expected the Amico would be a bigger failure than the VCS! If some of those exclusives come to other platforms, they will need some tweaking in order to fair better on any other platform, assuming it's possible. If Intellivision gets acquired by Atari, then they probably would fair better, I guess.

  • @pauleckert4321

    I mean the fact they are making people use 2 phones to play a game is just insane. I thought this was supposed to be simple pick and play. They should have just done a simple handheld plug and play with the few new games they have bundled with older ones and call it a day. Make it it a handheld that looks like the amico controller that you can hook up to a tv. That would be still been a disaster but better then home.
