    I would really like to see the Cat 289d3 up against the Bobcat t76, technically those are supposed to be more comparable being that they are both 74hp 10,000 lbs machines

      I agree. Problem is CAT prices themselves out of the market. The T770 in Canada, is about $130k, and the 289 is $143k, 299 is $148k. 289 is perfectly capable, but its primary competitor, the T76, is only like $108k. Definitely not worth the extra $35k for something with the same power range.

    Hey I love to see that you use local skid loader attachments. I happen to work there and we take a lot of pride in the attachments we send out.

    Both awesome machines but I prefer the cat over the bobcat the ac will freeze you and the heat will drive you out in the winter they just need to Improve that stupid door system, we have to carry a propane torch with us because the hinges freeze and lock up when it gets super cold in the winter.

    Great comparison. I'm surprised to see the 74hp Cat 289D3 keep up with the 95hp Bobcat T770. I know they are both in the same weight class but it's still a little disappointing that a non-DEF machine is keeping up with a DEF machine. What is the price difference?

      Cat seems to have better power management on it, it has power where it needs it & the anti stall works good on them also.

    It a good match between the Cat and Bobcat. Just be the different in price to buy the unit.

    Hey Garrett, I've had a T770 for about 18 months now. Been in it about 6 hours a day for an average. I personally have had more problems with it than i think a machine like that should have over that amount of time. Broken tilt cylinders, broken tilt cylinder pins, too many error codes to count, three fuel sending units, aux controller replacements, and still throwing codes left and right. Throws tracks pretty easily too. I mulch quite a bit, so looking at a 299D3 as a replacement. Great videos, btw!

      No machine will hold up to abuse, I’ve got a 2021 a770 and have got over 1500 hours, aside from general maintenance, no issues, sure hope I don’t jinx myself

    • @Jim-fo4dd
      @Jim-fo4dd ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have 1450 hours on our T770 and she has had no major failure, also knocking on wood. don't abuse machine, machine will last.

    • @wildgraylandworks4157
      @wildgraylandworks4157 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jim-fo4dd like I stated in the comment, I mulch quite a bit, which is pretty abusive to a machine that isn’t at all made for it, but at the same time, each and every problem I’ve had has been covered under warranty and deemed the fault of Bobcat in some form or another. Broken tilt cylinder and pins were a primary and secondary issue. The cylinder was deemed to have come from a bad batch of cylinders that Bobcat knew about, the resultant force from that break is what damaged and eventually broke the pin. So I say that to say this: I take really good care of my equipment, it’s how I make money. Bad aux controllers, fuel sending units, and throwing codes from day one have nothing to do with abuse or how hard the machine is running, it has to do with QC at Bobcat, or maybe lack thereof?

      We had a lot of overheating problems with our s770. Dealer has looked at it three or four times and it keeps happening. Throws several codes and we have to let it cool down, but then it will only operate 5 to 20 minutes before overheating again. Ended up being at least partially related to a wiring harness issue. It’s still not perfect. Enough headaches to have us searching for a new skid steer. It ain’t always “abuse.” Sometimes design can make components a bit more susceptible to damage or irregular wear and tear. Neat machines but frustrating when even the service department can’t figure out your issue. You’ll run into that occasionally, anywhere. Not just Bobcat.

    Ive ran both I'd take either one of them over a POS Case. I ran bobcats for many years. I run cat track machine now 299d3 love it. We have some case wheel machines junk. Hate them. No visibility out of the cab and the pilot controls are junk.

    Ranking for skid steers.....imo 3) Kubota, 2)takuchei,1) bobcat

      As a person that works on a lot of skid steer you are crazy. Kubota and takeuchi will be down for months if the distributor doesn't have the as it has to come from Japan. Also the tak and Kubota are not as reliable. Bobcat is a good machine all around the just suck ass to work on. Personally I like cat the most least amount of problems and easy to work on compared to bobcat. Case, jcb and takeuchi are junk once get a few hours on them everything goes to hell, drives, cylinders, head gasket issues, and much more takeuchi is the worst of all of them reliability wise

    • @IndependenceIron
      @IndependenceIron ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There in the same weight class. Can't help that CAT underpowered the 289 and 279. even my old deere 270 9000lb machine has 84hp. 75hp for a 10500 lb machine is low.

      Price is probably a more realistic category parameter, and the Bobcat is less expensive. So probably a fairly realistic comparison.
