  • When people retire you oftentimes hear complaints about them having nothing to do. Well I think my Dad fixed that issue by building and inventing away the boredom!
    The TOTAL Full Load Amps for the 5 motors is 21.5 Amps.
    The machine is fed by a 30 Amp, 220 Volt circuit.

    Wow. Excellent . I know a thing or two about Bowl Mor pinsetters. That machine is in excellent condition. Nice clean alley. . Your Dad did a fantastic job putting it together. Thanks for sharing the video!

    It was a rather big project but he gathered many parts from the New England area and put alot of time into it. Things like the floor had to be of course made by him but the gutters were from an old alley. His ball return was handbuilt. Many mechanical parts have been repaired and/or modified as well to make this a reliable machine. Good luck with your Claw Machines as well my friend.

      I really agree. I've seen people really try to build their own....and they fail miserably. But for people who are die-hard bowlers, I bet you could easily make a business out of it.

    Awsome job I recently moved to Virginia after living in New Hampshire for 48 years. Grew up with Candlepin bowling and bowled many leagues. Sometime I want to build a bowling lane on my property even if i have to make it a hand set lane it still would be fun and I could introduce some people I've met here to this type of bowling. A couple of them have said that having the dead wood to use would make it easier than Ten-Pin and I tell them that a lot of times that wood actually hurts more than it helps if you don't know how to use it right.

  • @steveperry1344
    @steveperry1344 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    that is wicked awesome. i always had visions of doing that and you actually went and made one. you got the machine and everything. the public lanes are disappearing fast, heck they have built some tenpin lanes in our area but i can't get into it but i like to watch it on tv. too bad you couldn't have made it full length.

    • @YTRulesFromNM
      @YTRulesFromNM 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      People don't like candlepin because it requires more skill and luck is a much smaller component. A three ball spare is only ten points and I don't know if anyone has ever bowled a 300.

    as a professional candlepin bowler and mechanic for a bowling alley I can say he did an awesome job building this. maintaining these machines is not easy. If you have a floor plan could you let me know thanks

    My father told me to check this out. He was told he would be the one who appreciates this the most. Now you may know who I am. Little B here. ☺️ I have too many memories in Ball Square. I think I was a baby during the Winter Hill Bowladrome days.

    Did the machine come from Winterhill Bowladrome? Nice set up and clean machine! Never seen candle pin machine up close. (none down here in Texas) 5 motors? wow! Brunswick A & A2 use 1 for the main machine and one for a ball return on top of the kickbacks. Bowling lanes I grew up in my dad was the night manager. It closed down a year after I graduated high school. Had moved out of state and was not there for the last frame or the tear down. My dad ran that last shift. Looking back (32 years ago) wish I could have saved the masking unit (Brunswick early 1960s Gold Crown trim package) from a pair of lanes that a now deceased friend shot his 300 on. At this center, 300 games were honored by a banner that was permanently attached to the top side of the masking unit with the bowler's name and date of the 300. Would love to have that hanging in my garage but it and a lot of equipment went to the landfill. Your dad sounds like a great man.

    He really did do a great job with this. I live in the south and the only bowling here is ten pin, which is fine. But I've had the candlepin itch for a while and watching videos like this doesn't help :D. If I may ask, what was the total amount he spent for all the parts and construction of this?
